Ahh, finally I can get back to my writings... I've been busy doing... other things... this past year, all of which I will tell you about now. I've come to have a new master, a peculiar draik called Inflicts, and his story is the one you are going to hear...

He soars aloft on a gentle breeze
The thrill runs through him like spreading disease
The wind caresses his mane and ears
The gold jingles together like cries and cheers
Laughter and beating of wings do mix
The sky is home to our young Inflicts...

more story here ------- This page is under construction... it needs quite a bit more work and I want it to look as detailed as Mo's page soon. Must wait for Christmas holidays before I can get some serious work on it done.

Inflicts seems to constantly hurt others accidentally without meaning to. Maybe it's his huge size, maybe it's bad luck, either way In does not have many friends. He also has an obsession with anything that looks valuable and can often be seen adorned with all kinds of jewelry from his hoard.

He likes to spend most of his time in the air, soaring as high as he can (much higher than most draiks can survive in).

Name: Inflicts (verb: cause [something unpleasant or painful] to be suffered by someone or something)

Nickname: In (occasionally Flic or Infli by some)

Age: 2 years; human equivalent of early 20's

Species: air draco (subspecies of Draik)

Gender: male

Occupation: none

Element: wind/air

Size: approx. 7 meters long

Habitat: high up in the sky, sometimes in water and on beaches, rarely on land

Diet: mostly tropical fruits (mangoes and the like), sometimes fish

Personality: Humble ~ Empathetic ~ Obsessive ~ Possesive ~ Accident-Prone ~ OCD victim

Family/Friends: Not many to speak of, except Gandalf, his petpet

Treasures and jewelry: It has become a dangerous obsession for him. In will do anything to protect his precious hoard, and has an obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) with putting bangles and earrings, etc., on himself, then taking them off and doing this a number of times over and over again each day. Also jangling them together and fidgeting with them constantly. Some will joke that perhaps the draik was the bearer of The One Ring at one time and this started his incurable addiction... others believe that it had something to do with his unusual upbringing.

Glowing things: Glowyness rules Inflicts' world!

Ooh, lava lamp... (note: I had the insane idea that you could plug electrical appliances into In as a joke, because his element is wind, and wind is sometimes used as a generator for electricity. XD)

Flying: There are few things that give Inflicts' more joy than sailing through the skies, whether on a calm day or stormy day, it doesn't worry him.

Rocky Terrain: Too hard on his soft belly. In doesn't like moving around on land very much, but he especially hates crawling over anything rough.

Abilities

In's element is the wind, so he has the ability to form clouds and can build storms and control the lightning, though this is an exhausting task for him.

He is not much of a fighter, but can use his tail as a weapon and has quite a nasty bite when the need arises. Soft living has made him vulnerable to larger or stronger creatures though, so In prefers to avoid combat.

In is a powerful flyer though and can literally fly fast as the wind, with the wind, becoming part of the wind.

He can also perform a few simple magic tricks and likes to act as a magician putting on shows for his friends.

Custom Design

Head Markings: The fluro green colour is seen in a vertical stripe that passes through In's eyes and covers the end of his muzzle. He has a tip of it on his chin. Three points that almost meet on his cheeks. Two thin bars that cross the bridge of his nose. End of each ear is tinged with a purple colour.
Head Features: Three-pronged horns that are 1.5 times the length of In's head. His muzzle is about a short to medium size. His eyebrows are fairly huge (as are his red eyes) with three points, the middle one being larger and sort of rhombus shaped. In has long floppy ears, that are thin and look cow-like in appearance (I'm not sure why) and grows four whiskers at a time that shed at random intervals, so In can be seen with no whiskers, short whiskers, or even ones that are so long they'll drag along on the ground. He also has the short scruffy gold-blue fur that reaches from his forehead all the way around his cheek-bones and ends in a short beard under his chin.
Body: Long and snake-like. He has only two short forearms that are attached to his wings so isn't very good at moving around on land and prefers to fly or slither through sand and water (no good on rocky terrain at all, his belly's too soft). All the way down his back are nine groups of spikes with three spines in each group, blue and black in colour and glowing green at the tips when in the dark.
Wings: Grey and purple in colour but not extremely large, with five points in each. His left wing has a tear near the end of the second membrane. Large, hooked sickle-claw on the top of each wing.
Tail: Three curled prongs that can be used as a lethal weapon. The ends of each prong glows green.
Accessories: Inflicts lavishes himself each day with as many articles of jewelry as he can without affecting his flight. He changes his accessories each day so his precious hoard doesn't collect dust and these can vary from earrings, armour, helmets, amulets, pendants, necklaces, chains, collars, bracelets, even to coins with holes punched in them to adorn his spikes. Usually coloured gold, silver, or black.
Colours: Mainly a turquoise blue with purple ear tips and black smudges all the way down his back. Edges of fur are gold tinged, spikes down back are black and indigo/blue colours, eyes are red, horns are brown/gold, and wing membranes are grey and purple. He also has a flurescent green colour that only shows up in the dark or when he is using his powers, and this coats his belly in huge splashes, the tips of all his spines, tail ends, and in a pattern on his face. The markings do not always glow, sometimes are just a darker blue colour (glowing even brighter when using magic). The patterns on his face always stay the same, but his belly colourings will morph and change.

Molidor
Molidor the faerie peophin is a bloke Inflicts and I really admire for his courage and strong will to protect youngsters in danger. He is a storyteller as well, and a good one at that. Mo is a special kind of peo or hippocampus, called a Deep Sea Erark, but spends a lot of time out of the water too.

Inflicts' Story
Plans
- In was hatched in the cellar of an old farmhouse belonging to a lupe, who had a massive collection of junk and had just thought In's egg was an unusual stone (oh sooooo cliche! D:) since the wind draik eggs do look kind of unusual.
- This lupe was a superstitious lad who had kept it as a lucky charm but when he heard the sounds of In crashing around downstairs and found Inflicts, he thought he was some kind of omen and thought it was his duty to raise the young wind draik and so he did for nearly a year.

- This farmer had a gallion as his own petpet, quite an unusual one, but he had never given him a name.
- During the time he lived with the lupe farmer, In never spoke to him, but the draik grew fast and after ten months was already twelve feet long. Then one day the area was raided by pirates (it was near the shore and the only house around). The pirates killed the lupe and Inflicts escaped, the gallion following him.
- Phew! I've finished planning chapter 1! :D

Ch2...
- In finds the ship of the pirates and because he is tired of flying, decides to try and take it out to sea where it can't be reached.
- With much difficulty he manages to push it off with physical force and some help from Gandalf (without knowing the anchor is still caught in the) and uses the wind for the first time to get it pushed off the shore.
- As they slowly make their way out to sea, a pirate lupe comes up from below deck and at first tries to have a go at the two, but after Inflicts establishes his larger size and dominance, this lupe decides he'd be better off helping them anyway and introduces himself as Sheath.
- (This is Sheath, Sara's pirate lupe, who lived on the same account as Avulse for a time, to honour him.)
- He was really about to lead a mutiny anyway with some followers, and then lead them (making those that tried to take authority of the ship walk the plank), but now thinks to himself it is better to start up a new crew anyway.
- Sheath agrees to help out the two, since he sees In's ability to control the wind extremely useful.
- MISSION "FINISH.PLAN.FOR.CHAPTER.TWO" : Accomplished :D

Chapter 1

It was a fairly normal morning. I had woken to the sweet scent of early blossoms growing in the orchard. The shack we lived in, the old lupe and I, was small, but our silo and cellar were relatively large. Old Lupe was a hard worker and farmed a large acreage of land, growing lots of different fruits. It was a nice spot to live too, on a gentle slope and hilltop, right next to the quietly lapping sea.

Old Lupe had gone down to the cellar to bring up more food for the day, but he found something had disturbed it. He was a collector or strange objects he found lying around, and now a whole shelf had been swiped clean, leaving the contents scattered across the floor. Old Lupe was none too smart in the head, and he scratched it, puzzled, before bending over to pick up the odds and ends: a rusty uni-shoe, old unusual looking bones, his father's old battle-axe, then he saw his lucky-stone.

Dang!" he fingered the immense object, round like some huge egg but spiked all over, running his fingers down the cracks. It looked badly damaged.

The lupe had found it some six months ago, while digging in his fields, planting crops. The thing had been buried quite deep and being heavy, it had taken him some time to dig it out. At first he had tried to figure out what it was... some kind of petrified or fossilized oversized pinecone, maybe? He had finally decided it was a special stone that contained a lifetime's supply of good luck. (It would have to, being that size, he reckoned.)

Now he grumbled quietly to himself as he inspected the damage to it, "Lost all me luck now, it's all run out through the cracks!"

I coloured it in with pencils the day after. ^^ My diary's getting very colourful. I took a photo instead of scanning because my scanner eats the colours and shading from coloured pencil drawings. D:

Inflicts in chibi form (chibis are extra cute critters with massive heads and eyes and small snouts). I was supposed to be studying for school certificate...but, I did this instead. Buahahahaha!

Welcome Becca!

First of all, I'd like to thank you for coming and taking a look at my application for Inflicts (who I like to call In, a nickname that's short and sweet). I'm sure you'll enjoy it, as I've focused on making it an interesting and hopefully exciting ride for you.

In this scroll box is all the application part of the application. XD As in, all the extra information for you, like what I will do with In, my history with the Neopets site, etc.

Now, a bit of old memories for you... Do you remember applying for Avulse the Tyrannian Draik? There were four finalists. Including you, there was Camel (aka. Shadow), Jeans, and me (Zippo). I still have those adorable adoptables you made us, as well as some of your pictures and the app for Avulse you made. LOL, I have a bad habit of saving all the remnants of Avulse that I can.

Koryzio's Version of Avulse (By Khalivea)

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I recognized Inflicts' layout. I was halfway through making my app and went back to check for updates, this time waiting for the layout to show up. And suddenly it clicked, "Oh me gawsh, IT'S KHALI!!!"

Well, my old design for Avulse is now the design of another dragon character of mine (not a neopet) and I have a new idea for what my first draik would look like. You can see my art skills have improved noticeably, LOL, the old ones were so much worse. XD

A Petpet for In?

I already have a Maraquan gallion in my gallery for Inflicts (who was originally for Avulse). In the past, this little guy was known as Frost, part of my last plans for a story (more about those later), but now I've changed my mind to fit in with Inflicts' story.

Now this gallion will be called Gandalf in honour of one of my all time favourite books (Gandalf isn't even on my top fave LotR characters, but the name's cool :D). Let's just say In named him this because he's a bit of a magician himself.

And I'm planning for Gan to be a remarkably intelligent petpet, still unable to speak (like most petpets) but he is able to read and write perfect english. In fact, as you may have guessed, he will be the one hosting In's petpage. As you noticed, the beginning story was told from Gandalf's point of view.

Me in a nutshell...

I go by Captain Koryzio (or just Ko) around on the internet... yeah, wacky name, I know. XD It is Herrardian for "insane" if you must know. I am called by many other names though in real life (I think my list was nearly up to forty names last time I checked), including Lightning, Frodo, Charlie, Zombie, Big Uncle Kofro, Cappy, Obi-Wan, the list goes on and on... basically you can call me anything as long as you don't call me late for dinner, LOL.

I live in Australia and go to college, so now my life is full of study for the School Certificate, leaving me not much time for Neopets this term. :( When I'm on the internet I spend most of my time on Deviant Art (account is Koryzio) uploading pictures of my made up characters (usually from my own fantasy realm, Archodia, which is becoming quite an awesome little world for me to delve into my imagination and develop) and I occasionally update my FA account.

I am absolutely obsessed with drawing (even in class) and am taking my digital art more seriously than ever. I know I have a long way to go before I should be calling myself an "artist" but I keep practicing and am slowly getting there.

I've been playing Neopets since late 2001, but since the April 07 change, I haven't done much besides BCing and entering contests. I've never been frozen, or been warned for that matter, and hope I never shall do anything to put me in that position.

And if you're really curious to know more about me, you can always check out my DA website, but let me warn you I'm not very interesting. XD My life mainly revolves around dressing up like a hobbit and drinking plenty of ginger beer...

Inflicts' Custom Design

Well, as you can see I love making my custom designs REALLY customized, though my ideas for Inflict's design is probably one of the most custom ones for a Neopet I've done yet.

I really had my heart set on making my first ever draik a frost one but after applying for three (Acardii, Avulse, and Chisalu) I gave up and decided to make him a resident of my Archodian world and he's really quite happy living there now and goes by the name of Aralu (who my ogrin is named after as you may have noticed). :D

So when I decided I'd apply for a fourth time in an attempt to get a draik I decided to come up with something totally new and got to work on making a character I could really grow attached to as much as I do with my other main pets (this was on 9th Oct, after I saw In up for adoption).

So you can see my plans for him: he'll basically look like an Asian lung dragon. (I don't get why they are called "lungs" though when the Mandarin word for dragon is actually "long"? Meh, tomato tomahto...) But I also wanted to give you a more detailed look at his design (also so I'd have a tidier way of remembering all his little details when drawing him as my memory is made of FAIL). So check in the other box for his Custom Design and we'll see what you think. :)

What am I going to DO with In?

Well, basically I don't come on Neopets very often anymore (I blame college), only a couple of times a week, so practically the only thing I do with my pets anymore is to BC them. I am addicted to the BC (though unfortunately can't find so much time to advertise my entries). Nevertheless I do alright at the easier species, and am challenging myself with my peophins, and would love to try my hand at entering the draik category, said to be one of the most difficult. Check out the lookups of my pets on my main account (the only ones I've been able to BC lately the others are in sore need of a turn).

I do not roleplay. I have attempted to once or twice in the past but I find it too time-consuming to do over the internet, so I don't roleplay my neopets.

I do, however, like to develop their histories and background stories, and, on occasion, write stories that I plan to enter in the Neopian Times, but with so many characters to write for I am extremely slow-going, especially since my main Archodian creatures get the priority. However I have got a couple of chapters done for In's story which you shall get to read later on in this application.

I'll be using this same layout for his petpage, which will simply be a place to display Inflict's story, my art of him, and information about him. I want to put draik adoptables on his page too and do customs, but I am busy with Molidor's peophin adoptables at the moment, so I can't promise they will come anytime soon, or even at all, depending on how busy my next few years are. D: Sorry to say, I'd rather waste time working on another art exchange or BC entry than making custom adoptables.

He'll also get a decent lookup too but he'll have to go onto the list of pet lookups to make since I've got a number of them waiting to be done.

Will I raise his stats? Uh, no. Probably not. Since I don't battle often, I find it pretty pointless and a waste of money on my behalf. Rather put my neopoints towards something useful.

And if I were to leave Neopets? I have tried to several times after that major change they made to the site in April, 07. Neopets was just too addictive, but after the change the only thing I came on to do anymore was BC, so I've tried leaving... it's no good I always come back a few weeks later. I'm so weak-willed. :(

If I did think I wasn't giving enough attention to Inflicts and didn't think I would be able to again in the future, I'd try and hand him back over to you, since putting pets up for adoption has never been my strong point. XD Putting him UFA would be the last thing I resort to, and only if you had already left Neopets.

And will I ever put In up for trade? Nevah! I do think the trading of pets is a bit insane, but it is how I got my Tetchy (darigan peophin) so I am thankful for it in some ways. However, I will never trade any of my main pets who I've just grown way too attached to and will only trade my "lab rats". XD Inflicts will CERTAINLY be one of those main pets as I've already created a design for him that I love so much, it already makes me heavy-hearted when I think of my chances of adopting him, when there are so many other applicants who want to adopt him just as much as I do. Doh! XD

And that reminds me... gosh will this section EVER end?! XD I move my pets around to give them all turns at the BC. So I'll probably keep In on my main if I am chosen to adopt him, but only for a few months before it's someone else's turn. But don't worry, for the majority of the time he'll be on my main.

Unless he keeps getting fourth or fifth in the BC and I become desperate for a trophy for him, and continue BCing him until I SUCCEED. XD

Trooooooooooophy! So SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINY!

Repaint?
Well, Tyrannian, Faerie and Maraquan were my favourite draik colours before the major change to Neopets in April, 07. Now they still aren't too bad, but Maraquan and Darigan are my favourite draik colours. So I am contemplating buying a Darigan Paint Brush (cost 1.4 mil on TP) for him since I have nearly that amount and have been wondering lately what to do with it. I wanted to save for a draik morphing potion or egg, but they seem just too far away.

However, I'm still quite a few months away from this paint brush, depending on how the stockmarket goes (the only way I'm earning NPs now, I'm very fond of the stockmarket both in RL and on Neo ^_^). Might take another half a year to earn it.

Why Darigan though? I know it looks nothing like the design I've made for In (no draik colour really does), but I still think it's a really cute colour and affordable for me. I want to hug the Darigan draiks whenever I see the pictures of them.

Update: I noticed the Darigan draiks do have some of the traits I've given Inflict's custom design, like the horns, having four long whiskers, spiky eyebrows, and a fluffy mane. I guess, it is the most suitable colour for In, despite him being blue and green in colour. XD

Update...AGAIN: Thanks to the art contest I have a shadow paint brush to sell, bringing me to the total cost I need for a Dari PB. :D I officially have enough NP for one now, but I will save it for a special day to paint Inflicts, like Christmas or my birthday next April... I just want to leave a little delay just in case (though the chances are slimmer than finding a needle in a haystack) I happened to get a fountain faerie quest and had the chance to paint him Maraquan... also I'd like some time to just enjoy him as a Tyrannian draik for a while.

Pro's and Con's of Me as an Owner

The good points and the bad points... why I should or should not be Inflicts owner. These are the only ones I can think of so far...

+ Drawn often. I love drawing as you know very well, especially the dragons, so Inflicts will very likely end up being the Neopet I draw the most (even though I do have a few made up dinosaur and dragon characters that I am very attached to and are not Neopets that I will still draw a lot more often... a couple of them I'll draw every day or two).

+ I don't want In for the avatar! I am not an avvie collector, and even if I ever did get a draik I would still be too lazy to bother about getting it. Ever. This is not why Neopets are made, just for these these 50x50 pixels that the collector will probably never have displayed anyway since there are so many...

+ I will not trade In! Never. Ever. My pledge to you is I will keep him unless I were to permanently leave and then he would only be up for adoption.

+ I won't ever risk him getting sniped in the pound. I've never lost a transfer, but now that there is a transfer option I use it always. Even to shuffle my pets around to BC them, I always wait the extra month to transfer them safely.

+ In will continue to develop. My pets keep evolving and changing as I find parts to add or take away from their designs. Same will happen to Inflicts... If I get bored of his design, I improve it!

...

- No roleplaying. I feel an awesome pet like In should be roleplayed, but that is something I will probably never be able to give him.

- Not much advertising for BC. I honestly wish I could advertise more for the BC, but really I only have time to in the holidays. This means I have to work really hard to make impressive entries so the manual voters choose my pets, since I can rarely get on Neopets more than four hours in total a week (and then usually at night in Sydney Standard Time, when most players are asleep).

- Not much background story. I simply don't have time for much writing nowadays, even for my beloved Archodian stories, so I can't promise In's story will get very far, at least until I leave school. :(

- No clothing. Sorry, there isn't any clothing for draiks yet that interests me. I might get a few bits of jewelry but I'm not spending a lot of NP on In's customization. At least for another year or so.

My Other Pets

These are the guys I'm keeping forever! I try to share out how much time I spend on each (on stories, drawings, etc.) but Molidor and Troodon my oldest pets, do tend to get the most attention. ;) I'm never ever trading these pets, they are my preciousesssssss...

Molidor, my faerie peophin, was the first pet I ever adopted, and concerning getting drawn, he'd probably be my most spoilt neopet (though not drawn as much as some of my non-neopet characters). I sketch him fairly often, though not many of his pictures are tidied and uploaded. He's a popular drawing subject in my school books when I'm supposed to be studying. XD He's been revamped four times now, and is still a developing character. I'm currently finishing the third revamp of his petpage, so feel free to go check it out and see what I have in mind for all my pets.

Aralu, my blue ogrin, is named after one of my dragon characters I draw a lot (a few pics of him on DA), but his personality is very different. He doesn't have a backstory yet, but I love drawing and BCing him.

Quorcil, my royal uni, is the only pet I have painted myself. He's currently undergoing a major revamp and I have drawn up new plans for his design, since I hated his last page and his last design was so boring. Not likely they'll be done until early next year though, since I've got soooooo many art works due this year as well as my school certificate. D:

Tetchy, my darigan peophin, is a new pet of mine whom I traded a darigan kougra for. He's yet to get a fancy petpage, but his lookup's all finished.

Troodon, my blue jetsam, might not be special in colour, but I really spoil him anyway with drawings. He's been revamped twice now. He has no interesting backstory, he was just created by me and is my special little jetsam. :) He once had a layout too, but it got old and now I just prefer to leave his page as a simple one. I am currently fixing up his lookup now, since the other one is sooooo old. :P And he's drowning in BC trophies (11 so far) so I'll need to rescue him and move him over to another account for a while and give the poor bloke a rest. XD

_Alhearah_, my Maraquan eyrie, is currently having a major revamp too, because I got bored of his old design and backstory. I've sketched up a completely new design for him, and just need to colour and shade. It's about time he has a new layout too, so his third one will soon be made.

Fare Thee Well!

Is that all? We're finished reading the application already? Well, technically that's not all. If I were to adopt Inflicts, his page would sorely need more stuff! You can see from the "Coming Soon" section at the bottom of the other box that there's plenty of other stuff that I am still working on putting on his page.

But I sincerely hope you enjoyed what I've done so far. I'm not much of a storywriter anymore (you may remember the insanely long story for Avulse I had from last year), but I hope the art made up for it.

I really love making those glowy transparent sketches now. They look so neat on petpages, and I'm getting faster at making them. :) Simple ones don't take me more than twenty minutes now and they are very effective on dark backgrounds, so I'll continue drawing these "white-sketches" as well as the normal digital art of In.

Now I might have worked pretty hard on this application, and so have all the other applicants, but now I think the toughest work is now yours as the deadline comes up. It'll be hard choosing a new owner for Inflicts... insanely hard I should think. I salute you for your dedication and your kindness in allowing one lucky Neopian to adopt him, and thank you for even giving us the chance to adopt him.

Not only that, but I salute you for your dedication first in applying for Avulse back in 2007, creating such an awesome character, and then sticking to developing your draik the same way when Sara helped you create a "second Avulse". You truly deserved him! :)
