The safest way to double your money is to fold it over once and put it in your pocket. But thats not how it's done in the city.

Keane-Crystal Ball

Who is the man I see
Where I'm supposed to be?
I lost my heart, I buried it too deep
Under the iron sea
Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Lines ever more unclear
Not sure I'm even here
The more I look the more I think that I'm
Starting to disappear
Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Oh, crystal ball, hear my song
I'm fading out, everything I know is wrong
So put me where I belong
I don't know where I am
And I don't really care
I look myself in the eye
There's no-one there
I fall upon the earth
I call upon the air
But all I get is the same old vacant stare
Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall
Oh, crystal ball, hear my song
I'm fading out, everything I know is wrong
So put me where I belong
Step Right In

Loud noises surround you, it would be pitch black if this were any other place in the world but it looks like daytime here. So many lights, they dazzle you. So many signs, ads for every possible product you can think of and some that you can't. Some stores look safe, approachable but some give off an aura that you do not want to be near like a small stairway that leads to a ominous door. It looks run down, old, abandoned. However there is more sound coming from down there than from up here at the surface of the city. Curious you slowly walk down those stairs, hesitant but your curiosity is greater than your fear. Pushing the door open, staring through a small crack, not sure whats there you look. Things seem to be flying everywhere, people are yelling, some cheering, others...who knows what.
Heh...lost again? I can't say I'm too surprised. you hear a voice exclaim, followed by
yelling and accusations.
Opening the door slightly, you see a n orange xwee in a fashionable top hat, smirking and rocking back and forth in his chair. Just then your attention turns to a poster on the side of the wall. It lists a bunch of names and some facts about them. One picture that looks like the xwee you just saw and you begin to read.

A Trip Down Memory Lane
Hrrrrm. Where to start, sides you know, when I was born. I guess nothing REALLY interesting happened until I was like, 20? And barely that. I mean I have gone through a big change from kid to adult but it was gradual. My school life was uh boring. Seriously I had like the craziest teachers. There was this one who thought she was the president of the whole school. Old enough to be my mom even. Can't remember her name. She would accuse me of every possible charge known to man. It was crazy. I would be walking in the lunch room with my lunch (which I rarely ate) and she would come down and stand RIGHT in front of me. Luckily I never actually bumped into her legs. If I did, I might as well dig my own grave. So yeah, she'd come down, tell the lunch room teacher or whatever they call it that I -insert crime here- and they'd call me up to "talk". You can tell that he never wanted to actually talk to my teacher. She was so DULL and pushy. I was lucky if I even got to eat my lunch. So I sat there, saying no to everything she could think of but she STILL pushed on. I was ready to move to China or something. Seriously.
And then there was this other one, she was also pretty old. The kids in my class would play this prank on her from time to time. Not too often so she wouldn't get used to it and expect it, but not too far away that she'd get suspicious. See they would take like chalk or something, sometimes food and throw it ALL over her desk. Once it looked like someone had a party and forgot to clean up. And she was like super strict, I'll tell you that. Yet she came to class later than all of us. Don't even want to know what she was doing. So the one time the desk looked like a party she got really mad. And when I say really, I mean really. Took us the whole period to convince her NOT to make us rewrite the whole book we were reading. She only gave us a chapter but boy was the next test crazy. Mom yelled at me for failing it but she got over it.
Mmm Crazy times. Parents were there of course. I mean they might as well have put me on strings and pretended they weren't there. The whole neighborhood knew they were pushing me into the profession THEY wanted me to be in but yet they still denied it. I mean yeah I loved them but really. I'm slightly glad they made me take music that one year because I really love the cello. Its just one amazing instrument I'll tell you that much. I used to be really good if I do say so myself; top of my class either. Yeah it was a beginning class and none of them have even heard of a cello but that's not the point. College was amazing if not depressing. I wasn't special or anything. Jeeze some of the people there were like born playing or something.
There was this one time in my dorm however that started the path that turned me into who I am today. You may jump for joy now. Anyway my roomies as always were playing cards. Usually I just ignored them because it didn't seem too interesting but since I had finished everything I had to do for the day, I tried to play some go fish. Needless to say it was quite fun. I won that time but it was probably by luck. Still I played another game and another but soon they got bored. I mean go fish is just a child's game anyway. So they taught me how to play other card games. To be honest it took me A LOT of tries to win just once. So anyway it became a daily thing. I played solitaire by myself when I had the chance, it really did help I can tell you that.
Then there was this one time, I still remember it quite clearly, senior year as a matter of fact, I was browsing around the school store. Just "window shopping" really. I could tell the store kids were getting annoyed of me looking so much but I was too focused trying to pick out a candy bar to buy. Deciding, finally on an Air head which I don't even like anymore to this date, I picked up head up and turned slightly to face the cash register. Before I could talk though I noticed this hat. It looked like any old other hat but for some reason it captured my attention. It was grey with a white strap around it, nothing really modern in my opinion. Just then I imagined myself as this cool card player. Not playing for money or anything. Just being all skilled, walking down the side walk with people flocking to my feet and enemies to the sides, waiting just to challenge me. Honest it made me smirk. Which was probably kind of creepy to the cashier who was staring at me. Probably thought I just thought of a way to rob her or something.
How much for the hat?
Just a dollar."
"Really?" I asked, digging in my pocket. I felt around for anything that felt like paper but all I found was my old program card and a candy wrapper. Luckly however I found a dollar inside my card. Probably really old lunch money I never used. But what the hey, whatever works.
Here you go.
Thank you. Here's your hat sir. Might be slightly dusty though. No one's even looked at it for a year already.
Heh I can't see why not. Its quite awesome." I slipped the hat on my head after dusting it off slighlty and tilted it to the side, trying to look cool. Then I walked away, hands in my pocket like I just didn't have a care in the world.
My roomies didn't comment on it. They never comment on anything unless I ask them too or they have a joke they just thought up. They were never funny anyway. So anyway I sit down at my seat, fiddling with it a little and dusting it a little more. I got up to the mirror and fixed it nice and straight but something was missing but I had no idea what. I hate that though, when you know somethings wrong but have no idea what. It irks me. Basically for the next hour I dived into my dresser to find something of interest. Nothing seemed to work. But after cleaning out my dresser, which was a total mess by the way, I found this thing ledged in between the 2nd and 3rd shelf. Now this dresser was ready to be thrown out the window. It creaked and got stuck so many times. I tried pulling the foreign item out but I had to tug it hard a few times. It finally came out flying and landed on the floor. I picked up up, it was this gray tie. I tried it on, not caring really and to my surprise it actually looked...decent. I wore it the rest of the day and I felt like the king of the world.

Companion

Petpet: Diceeh the Rashpid (PRONOUCED: De-cey)
Meet Diceeh, my lucky break. When I hit rock bottom, he was there. He was the reason I didn't stay down. How something could survive in that city was amazing. Not to mention after he joined me, I slowly worked my way up again. I think he started following me after I "saved" his life. He saved mine. It doesn't really matter but I wouldn't give him up for the world.
Peace of My Heart

♥♥♥♥
I guess I haven't had much luck in this department. I always start with that perfect hand you think is gonna make you win but end up losing. I guess feeling this wouldn't be so bad. Not my priority in life but I'd be thankful if I had it.
I must complain the cards are ill shuffled till I have a good hand. -Jonathan Swift

Sanentari:
Hes so boring. He just sits by himself and never plays with me. When he does, he lets me win, I can tell. Hes really nice however. Plus I enjoy seeing what he paints. He once did a portrait of me! If he was more outgoing I'm sure he will be well known... |
|
 |
Kori:Hehe I admire his boldness and bravery. Hes also really cunning but never plays a game with me. Hes dedicated to getting better blah blah blah. He did lend me money once. B) |
|
Nenechii:URGH. I can't play with him. I threw down 3 red aces and he just spazzed at me. Other wise hes annoying and acts like a kid. When he doesn't annoy me with it, its pretty hysterical. Hes also relaly strong and helpful in a fight. |
|
 |
Arkk:Its not like I ever talk to him anyway. I wish I did, he seems strong but he always keeps to himself. I see him around other people and hes as hyper as Nenechii. People confuse meeeeeee. |
|
Jhude:
Heh, what can I said about this kid. Hes cool and not too shabby at pool. I wonder why hes so unlucky but eh. Not my business. |
|
 |
Tarai:Hes...annoying. He tried to steal Talis necklace and caused us all a bunch of trouble. He tried to escape after it too. He confuses me and I'd really like to punch him a few times. I don't ever want to meet him again. |

Risti:
Hehe what a cute little kid. She insists that I don't call her that but she'll get over it. Also has something against mutant tuskiannys. I persoanlly thought that icecream vendor looked normal. -shrugs- Fun to be around though. |
