Here at Kokoro, we recognize extraordinary things. More so, extraordinary people. The people in our lives that brighten up our day and put a smile on our face. The people we feel comfortable talking too, and look forward to seeing. These are the people that define our personality, and you more than anyone else understand that they need acknowledging.

That's where we come in. Kokoro is a gift site. I'm not talking about the physical gifts, but the gifts of words. Although a pictures worth a thousand words, words can be worth a thousand smiles. Everyone appreciates getting an encouraging comment or note of thanks from someone, so I Owl, decided I should do something about it.

Mission

Gifting a friend is really quite simple. The first step is to think up the message you would like to give them. It can be a thank you note, a message of encouragement, a get-well-soon letter, or even just a note to acknowledge your friendship. As long as your message is not rude or derogatory in some sort, I will happily post it up here and inform the receiver that they have been gifted. To do this, you must send me their name, username, and the message you would like to give them. Neomail me?

On the other end, there is the act of being gifted. It's also quite simple. By asking to get gifted, you will give me your name and username (which I will post up here). When your friends see your name, they are free to leave comments and notes for you! Simply send me a neomail to do so. Neomail me?

Terms

giftee (gif-TEE): A person who has requested to be gifted (see our mission statement)

gifter (GIF-ter): A person who has willingly gifted a friend or family member through Kokoro (see our mission statement)

kokoro (ko-KO-ro): The japanese word for heart, commonly known as the center of all emotion and intellect

Sister Site

Unfortunately, my dear sister site, Quilt Of Dreams, just recently closed. It was run by Soph, and she was amazing! She was always so kind and thoughtful. Unfortunately, she just wasn't feeling it any more, so QoD is now closed. However, I'd like to keep this up in her memory and thank her for everything! She also made me this adorable little bear pixel. I luff you, Soph! :3

1. Kokoro is only open for criticism of the constructive sort. If you have ideas on how this site could be improved, or things you think cause a problem or don't belong, feel free to neomail me! However, if you're looking to berate me and say rude things, that is not acceptable. There is a difference between rude and constructive criticism. I'm sorry if you don't like my site, but you can keep that to yourself instead of telling me. This is, after all, a site based around friendship.
2. This is an original idea. If you see sites very similar to mine, I would appreciate if you could just give me the link so that I could check it out and make sure no major ideas were stolen. If you're inspired by my site, great! But I'd appreciate a little link in your credits section.

Music is important in setting the mood for a site, especially one like Kokoro. I make sure that the music fits the layout and the theme I'm trying to get across. I try to change my music weekly to bi-weekly, and even every few days if I'm lucky, so that you have something new and fresh to listen to often. If you would like to suggest some music, please neomail me.

You can count on hearing many different types of music here. I appreciate all genres, so you'll be hearing a very eclectic mix! :) Music can only be heard on Internet Explorer. I myself only you IE on occasion, but I take great pleasure in knowing that others are enjoy my music!
