I think you should vote for the pretty Draik in the BC C:0

Can you hear the whispers?
The trees speaks to us in the wind…

Well, really they speak to me the most. The wind doesn't have much to do with it either.
And they spend a lot of their time complaining.
It's actually really, really annoying…

Turning his head to peer up at the tree tops, the small, furry, red Draik twitches his tail in annoyance. After a few moment's silence, he shrugs and looks back at you.
The Forest doesn't seem to have any problem with you wandering around, so I guess you can stay as long as you want.
Don't you dare step on the white flowers though.

Oh, I guess I should give you some sort of introduction and welcome, right?
Yeah, well, my name's Amidh; this is a petpage for...oh, me. Right, what a coincidence.
I'm the Guardian of the Forest - ah, well, not this forest, I'm just staying here temporarily.
But I'm the guardian of a forest. A very important one at that.
Yeah, it's pretty difficult work, forest guardian-ing, but I-
Why aren't I at the forest I'm supposed to be protecting?

Well who the heck died and made you the person that decides how, or where, or when a guardian goes about guarding their forests?
Seriously, some people...

The Draik walks off, muttering to himself and mindlessly hopping on various vines laced through the air. Before long he's sitting in a tree a fair way above your head.
What? Still standing there with that funny look on your face?
Didn't you come here to…I dunno, get lost in a forest for the intro of some other person's story?
Oh, you're here to learn about me? Well, I can understand that, I suppose.
Amidh fans his claw across his chest, practically glowing with renewed arrogance, I am quite fascinating after all.

Name: Amidh - Didn't I tell you this already?
Age: 23 - It's rude to ask a draik their age you know.
Size: About three feet long, not including tail - Yeah, I'm small. What of it?
Personality: Brilliant, wise, charming, handsome - Oh, and I pride myself in modesty.
Likes: A few things
Dislikes: A lot of things

Yeah, I'm spiffy, I know.
Now, about that whole 'Forest Guarding' thing, it'd probably help if you knew a bit about how the entire concept works.
(Because clearly haven't the slightest idea. Typical, average mortal.)

A small, thin vine that had crept its way around his ankle suddenly yanks Amidh out of the tree, sending him crashing down at your feet.
Hopping back up in a quick, seemingly hyperactive movement, his attention is immediately on the forest itself, shouting out at the trees,
Okay! Okay! I'll tone it down!
Amidh turns back to you, shaking his head, For the love of Jxen...

Prologue
Regarding choices made for you...

Always been small, I think. Ever since I was born.
Not that I would remember, I just assume.

I was born as a child of a very weird race called the Zeyn. They're really into understanding the Elements and all that.
But even though the Zeyn are pretty weird themselves, the rumors about them are ever weirder.
Like, I've heard people say that when a Zeynian child is born, the colour of their eyes determine what Element they're most attached to, and then their eyes naturally lost their colour unless they're using magic.

Well, that's realy dumb.
Because, I have golden eyes. And what kind of moron would equate gold to the forest instead of green?
People are so stupid...

Anyways, I was the first born on the day the previous forest guardian died, so there you have it.
Yep, that's how I got the job.
But don't get all dismissive right away - it was really tough!
I mean, once the Zeyn appointed me the position at the grand age of 13 seconds, I was immediately tossed out into the forest, to live outside their oh-so-special underground kingdom.
Not very nice at all, right?

And before you ask, no I didn't have mommy and daddy issues. They still visited me at night to teach me stuff and make sure I was okay I guess, but in the day I belonged to the forest.
And after I turned 8, I belonged to the forest entirely.

Fun and simple times to say the least. I didn't really have to do much.
Although some plants talk a lot more than I really care for.
And some of the older trees never liked me too much, so they tended not to talk much at all.

But the white flowers were always my favorite, because they never cared about what ever those older trees did say against me.

What? No, I'm not getting all sentimental towards a bunch of flowers. They're just good company...as far as plants go.
It's not like I'm trying to marry them, creeps.

Oh, uh...right, anyways.
So, if you're wondering why exactly I'm not in that forest right now...that takes a bit more depth. So, if you'd be kind enough to wait while I get my 'srs bizniz' face on...

All set? Good.

Chapter 1
Regarding the Wars which Plague this Planet...

One thing I learned, about 9 years ago, was that mortals seem to enjoy destroying things.
In honest, I kind of knew that for a while. The trees would comment on it occasionally in their smug little sneaky ways.

Oh, did you hear about those people by the river in Gostroth? I hear they polluted a river!
Oh my gods!

Gostroth is half. Way. Across. The. Freaking. Globe.
Heck if I know why they considered it an interesting subject, gossiping like a group of teenage girls.

Oh, right. Srs bizniz. I apologize.

Point is, I didn't really get a lot of the things the forest said about other mortals, because I didn't get the chance to interact with them much.
A fair amount of people would wonder into the forest, no doubt in hopes of finding the Zeyn, but I never really stopped by for idle chit chat.

But then one day, mortals gathered into my home, and the forest began to crumble into ash...

Sorry about that. Random poetic urges.

It turns out, there was this lady named Kaygura at the time.
No clue what her deal was; trying to conquer the world I guess, but she also had interest in the Zeyn, and consequently made her way into my home.

Oh, and she had an army with her. Almost forgot to mention that part.
But I'm getting slightly ahead of myself already.

Chapter 2
Regarding the Idea of Fighting for what you Care About...

The second fire reached a single tree, I could hear a faint screaming from miles away.

One thing most people don't seem to realize is that trees and plants don't feel pain in the physical way that we do.
They feel pain in the intention, or lack there of in some cases.
But let me tell you, I felt the pain of those elder trees shouting in my ears the entire time.

Our children are being slaughtered!
Go! Aid them you fool!
What is happening!?
Why are you moving so slowly!?!?!

Don't get me wrong, I did want to help at the time, but I'm pretty sure that screaming is what made me run as fast as I did.
It was slightly overwhelming to be honest; I was young and rather new to my responsibilities, so I was willing to take any direction I was given.
Besides, I had no idea what I was getting into.

The first soldier I ran into was, of course, nothing special.
No different than taking care of your average, ill-intended visitor to the forest and such: A few vines to wrap them up, and done.
Even with screaming voices, I could handle that. What I didn't expect was the crowd of soldiers following to suddenly appear.
And even with the forest around me shouting instructions and commands, my first reaction was to hide. I couldn't help much if I was trampled and speared, right?
But the army didn't seem to care much about me, or their comrade flailing about in the air.
Contrast to the rush and vigor of the majority however, three lone figures trailed at the end at a far more casual pace.

One, I learned later to be Kaygura. She spotted the Zafara I had tied up, and I watched - hidden in the trees - as she ordered one of the others to let him down.
This one was a Krawk, covered in dark-gray fur with multiple pairs of wings, named Calibur. I never got the grand opportunity to learn uch about him, but based on his unfaltering (lack of) expressions, I'm sure he was an absolute thrill to be around.
He hopped up to the Zafara with ease, and swiftly cut the vines holding him.

I felt a slight touch of relief work over me as he started to head back down, but suddenly the third character appeared right before my eyes.
She was a real treat.

Hey there! she exclaimed, baring one large grin.
Her name was Axlana; a purple furred Aisha with an odd looking mask covering half her face.
And I didn't like her.

You're not a member of the rebellion, are you? she asked while hopping onto the branch completely. She began stepping forward, so as natural reaction to such actions by a crazy person, I took two steps back for each.
No, Axlana paused to tap a claw against the side of her mouth. No, you don't seem to have that mindless rage to you. What's your name…
And then she added with a light snicker, like she was telling some sort of stupid joke that nobody else would get, Sir.

I wasn't entirely sure if I should talk to her, but luckily the Krawk interrupted before I had the chance to.
Stop wasting time, he snapped, Kaygura gave us a specific task, remember. And don't mess with the army; you'll ruin the cover.

Calibur's gaze shifted towards me, and upon eye contact I felt the immediate urge to look away. The guy's a creep - especially with those freakishly bright eyes of his.
Regardless, he looked back at Axlana and continued, We don't really have time for you to spend time tormenting random forest dwellers either.
Oh, there's always time for a bit of fun, Calibur, she responded gleefully. Don't be so…you.
But she hopped down from the tree anyways, joining her companion to follow after Kaygura again.
Another time perhaps…Amidh…

For a few moments it felt as though I couldn't move.
And it sucked.

Oh, don't believe the stupid banner, these people aren't really my friends. I mean, three of them have almost stabbed me...

Vennic- Well, not that I really need the assistance in finding Sapphire, but this guy's been pretty helpful nonetheless.
Uh, I think he's a Dem- oh, they prefer to be called Ketreans now, don't they?
Right, well I think he's a Ketrean; a general, or ambassador or something now.
In any case, he's also looking for Sapphire for some reason.

Icilia - Icy's pretty cool for a Zeynian girl.
She's still a stick in the mud on terms of humor, mind you, but at least she isn't so...I dunno, nature-y.
Well, I met her helping Ven as well. They seem to have known each other for a while now.

Axlana - Gaaah! Crazy psychotic girl from heck!
I ended up crossing paths with her once more after the attack on the forest. I'm not really sure what happened to her, but I hope she's gone for good.
The homicidal freak already tried to kill me twice.

Rain - I think Rain is one of those guys who lives in his own little version of the world 24/7. Like, he could watch his arm get cut off, and smile about how lucky he is to have another.
...Uh, yeah, maybe that was a bit of an overexaggeration, but the guys a major optimist for some reason.

Sapphire - Sapphire is apparently a 'being of corruption
What ever that means.
All I know is that she was some how responsible for the attack on my forest, so the forest is making me track her down.
Ven keeps saying it'll be more complicated than that, but I don't see what the big deal is.

Okay, yeah, I'm getting tired of talking...

Hullo, Dragon here ;D
I'm intervening shortly to tell you a less biased analysis of Amidh's character.
Since he's a completely cynical egomaniac, with an unwarranted feeling of importance, you can't really trust him to be honest about these types of things.
Or rather, it's not so much an issue of him being honest, but an issue that he actually believes himself to hold superiority over...well almost everyone. And he's a master at making excuses for himself when other people show him up - or simply putting other people down, to raise his own view of himself again.

In fact, the only ones that really manage to bring his ego down are the trees and plants that talk to him. He sees them as being ungrateful and rude, when it's a mututal problem.

Anyways, Amidh does actually have the ability to get along well with other people - usually for short amounts of time however - so long as he doesn't see them as attempting to challenge him in some way. His high and mighty view of himself is not a matter of trying to get attention or steal spotlight; simply a constant reassurance that he is doing everything right.

It probably goes without saying that he does not take criticism well.

Unfortunately, Amidh is not perfect, and one day he will have to come to grasps with this. But for now, this is the imperfect Amidh he is ;P Don't let the holier-than-thou attitude bother you too much.

Yeah, hi again. Miss me?
I was listening to a lovely story by that young oak tree over there, and decided I actually like talking to you more. Don't you feel special.
You know I never did get your name.
Oh well, that's not important right now.
Look! Pictures of me!

Aren't I beautiful?

Concepts, Sketches, Etc

Well, this was the first drawing Dragon made of my design. As you can see I look exactly the same.
Except the marking under my eye...
Tch, it's not important anymore. Just another passing gift of the forest.
