Hello there and welcome to my portfolio page. This portfolio is an idea from The Neo Project guild, a guild I am very lucky to be a part of! This page is about me, my neo experience, my pets and my goals,dream and activity on neopets and in TNP. Real Life Hobbies: I am currently at university, so I don't really have a life outside Neo and University. I love reading and procrastinating!
Favorite Things To Do On Neo: On Neo, I enjoy trading pets, stalking the Pound Chat, Collecting avatars, Waiting on the Stock Market, Failing at Restocking, Drooling over peoples avatars and pets, playing a few games, Playing NeoQuest (thanks Claire), Chatting in the guild and making new friends!
Strengths: I am willing to try anything, help anyone or just make random jokes. I am pretty patient (except when it comes to uni work) and would say I am kind and giving. I love helping people and enjoy seeing people smile. I am pretty good at writing and content.
Weaknesses: I am not very good with creative stuff. I make terrible layouts and cannot code, although all this working with Sunny's portfolio coding is helping me understand CSS. I cannot draw but I am always trying to think of ways around this so I can eventually enter the beauty contest!
More About Me: So I started my first year at university (the University of Queensland) studying Science but I have already had many regrets. I live on campus in residential college and here we all get our own 'Fresher Names'. Mine is Gary Lancer but I go by Gary. So everyone at College calls me Gary, not my real name. It gets a bit confusing as I go by Space here and Gary/Stacey in real life!
I am the biggest procrastinator you will ever meet. I spend way too much time on Neopets of watching downloaded movies/tv shows and not enough time on my uni work. Living away from home is harder than I thought it would be and I miss my parents alot. At the moment I live in a corridor with 17 other girls and 18 boys living in the floor below. We have 1 bathroom with 3 showers and 3 toilets. The food here is not great either. :( Okay thats enough about me here!

Pets
On this little part I want to dedicate to my wonderful permanent pets. I don't have as many as some people and I still haven't decided what account I want a lot of them on. Besides that I think they are pretty fabulous. I have yet to figure out the customisation for most of them and none have complete stories and petpages at the moment. I promise myself and that I will be developing them over the long run though.

Avatars
On Neopets I enjoy collecting avatars and I guess you could say showing them off as well :P I also love making fonts to accompany my favourite avatars!

Most Wanted Avatars:
I am trying to actually achieve the avatars I have listed under 'Most Wanted Avatars'. To achieve the Carnival of Terror (CoT) avatar I have been practising and will continue to practice on a regular basis until I get this avatar!
Imposter Apple is a random avatar that can be gotten from the Apple Bobbing daily activity on Neopets. The only plan to get this avatar is to bob for apples every day until I get it. Hopefully it doesn't take as long as it sounds!
To get the Island Quiggle avatar I plan on trading my Orange Grundo for an Island Quiggle. This avatar I expect to take the least amount of time.
The MSPP avatar and BGC avatar I don't foresee getting in the vey near future. The only hope I have of these avatars is being lent! We can only hope.
Trophies
Much like with the avatars section this is a little list of the trophies I hope to achieve in the foreseeable future on Neopets. Some will obviously be harder than others.
Round Table Poker: Lets just say I am not very lucky when it comes to this game and ultimately don't win very often. Although everyone tells me this is supposed to be an easy trophy and I am determined to get more trophies so here it is on the list! YIELD. YIIIIIEEEEELD!
Neoquest 1: I have started this but I have trouble finding the time to go through it I am a fair way into it but I get bored of it easily. I will finish it eventually and will be so relieved when I do. I have no plans to get the silver or gold trophy at the moment.
Dueling Decks: I find this game quite easy and It takes only time and luck, so I think I could possibly get a bronze trophy for this game sometime soon. Wish me luck!

Long Term Goals
1. Obtain a colour and species combination for Pyamia that I am happy with. Whether this be by morphing and painting or by lab ray. This one could ultimately take a long time as I just enjoy zapping Py sooo much! I don't know if I will ever be truly satisified with how he looks. I think the whole ever changing chameleon thing matches his personality and story as well I guess.
2.Reach 300 avatars.
This one is huge and will probably take a very long time. Even though its only 50 avatars alot of the ones left are random, flash games or SuAP,MSPP ect. Its going to be a long and arduous journey. I think I can pull it off in the long run though...well maybe!
3. Create stories, personalities, petpages, petlookups, customization and matching petpets for all my permanent pets.
This goal will be challenging but I have no doubt in my mind that I can do it. I cannot give a precise timeline of when this will happen as I will be busy for long periods of time. I am hoping to complete this goal one pet at a time so that I don't have several half-finished projects. Of course I may still need to organise which account my pets are on first.
4. Have 10 million pure neopoints in my bank.
This goal I think is the MOST reasonable for me at this point in time. Even with university I think I can do it by New Year 2013. To some people this is going to sound like a very long time away. Keep in mind that I have only ever made about 5 million neopoints in my whole Neopian lifetime. With the help and support of my fellow TNP members I think I can actually do it. I plan to make the neopoints by a combination of stocks, games, and selling off plot items and retired items.
5. I want to be an active and contributing member of TNP.
By this I mean that I want to remain active on both the guild and recruitment board and participate in TNP events and activities when my university and work schedule admits it. I would love to host my very own monthly event in the future and the possibly of opening a bloc. Though I have no idea what I would make this bloc about, possibly stocks as all the things I am good at (Trading, fonts, avatars etc.) have already been created. I would love to be a more effective member in TNP as often I feel as though I am in the background of the guild not really doing much for anything.

They may be goals I would consider using for the TNP Monthly Goal Challenge in any particular month. TNP Monthly Event
This is the space I will devote to the monthly event within TNP. Please note that if that particular month's event is not interesting to me or I cannot complete it due to time restraints or another reason I will not participate or record my progress here.

I was really looking forward to this event but now I am not so excited. I am not sure what has changed but I will still participate anyways. I will include text boxes for the entries I do for the Writing Team.

TNP Monthly Goal Challenge
My goal for this activity is to earn all the badges, which means completing my monthly submitted goal for 12 months. I have completed one month so far and after missing a few months I am hoping to get back on track towards this goal.

Pet Creation Challenge
This event is one that I have been the most looking forward to for a long time! I plan on completing this event for all of my pets eventually.
Random Competition Tracker
This is one TNP event that I would like to improve my participation as I have been neglecting for awhile. I would love to reach the 20+ wins badge but that is going to take a long time.

TNP Bloc Participation
This space like above will be devoted entirely to the Blocs I have joined within the TNP guild. I have been somewhat neglecting these and hope that putting them more easily seen on my portfolio will encourage me to participate more and track my progress within each Bloc on this page. I am currently a member of several Blocs which include: The Beauty Contest Bloc, The Font and Avatar Bloc, The Zappers Bloc, The Battledome Bloc and hopefully The Writers Bloc.
The Beauty Contest Bloc:
I have found this bloc quite challenging to participate in as I am extremely picky and under confident when it comes to my art. As I do it by hand at the moment I spend a lot of time on any pieces I do. I have tried to upload several pictures from my notebook to scanner but they have all come out at odd angles and I don't know how to turn them up the other way. I do have a Wacom Bamboo Tablet but I find that my drawing tends to be worse at the moment as I haven't used it very much. I haven't the time at the moment to devote to trying to draw art digitally yet. This is something I really regret, especially because the tablet was really expensive.
Top Goal: Submit a picture to the Neopets Beauty Contest that I am happy with.

The Zappers Bloc:
The Zappers Bloc is one I hope to be up-to-date with as I have three accounts that I can potentially zap pets on. I will be restarting my lablog although I am unsure if I want it to be on this page or a separate one. Having it on a separate page may be better in the long run as I hope to not make this page TOO content heavy. I thoroughly enjoy zapping my pets and I really wish that I can achieve the badge.

Font and Avatar Bloc:
I would have to say that this bloc is my favourite by default. Fonts are probably the only creative-like thing I can actually do and do well on Neopets. I have been making them for years and I absolutely love doing them. I would like to thank Gabby of this particular bloc to introducing me to 'Picture Fonts' which I had never attempted to make before the bloc was introduced. I initially thought I would be rubbish at them but was pleasantly surprised when after a little careful manipulation and a few lost hairs I made my first nice functioning one! Yay me. I hope to earn the badge for this bloc even though it may take some time and even win a monthly activity badge for a winning font. That is my most sought after goal for this bloc.
Also to go with this bloc I am going to try and post examples of some of my better and favourite fonts on my portfolio. Watch out for the link. I would love to do requests for members of TNP if they would like a specific font.

The Battledome Bloc:
I also really like and am grateful to this bloc as I have always wanted to increase my battledome skills and awareness! This bloc is wonderfully organised and upheld and I strongly urge anyone that is not already a member to join the battledome bloc right away! I joined this bloc with the intent of training up one of my pets to defeat all the avatar-giving challengers and to beat the DoN challengers. My biggest goal however is to train Roiuhl to 500 HSD. I have a LONG way to go!
The Pet I have chosen to train is Roiuhl and here are his starting stats in the bloc:

The Writers Bloc:
At the moment I am not a member and I do not know the status of the writers bloc so I will therefore leave this section for the moment. I hope that the writers bloc will be able to help me improve and elaborate on my writing so that I do not get distracted or lose my ideas when trying to create stories for my pets. I would also love some tips on writing for the storytelling competition run by Neopets as I can see it could be a promising endeavour.

This day brings up bad memories. Anyways I changed the layout on my portfolio again, I like this one better than the last as everything seems more organised. Its a pity it is not anchored but I will get over that eventually. I added a to-do list section, added to the blog and stuff. There is still some stuff I plan to add but it does not have to be done straight away.

I did some more updating on my portfolio today and yesterday. Granted some wishes etc. Not much else to report except I have been feeling really tired and getting bad headaches lately. I have no idea what its from. Christmas was alright we had the devil down and somehow we managed to live. She drove us to insanity though. I am looking forward to going back to uni especially now that I know I got my first corridor preference for this year.
Saturday, December 17, 2011:
All the Christmas shopping is done finally and I think we went a bit overboard. I only really had 3 people to buy for but there ended up being like 40 presents under the tree for everyone. Hmmm. I am very excited for next sunday (Christmas Day) as hopefully everyone will be happy for once.
Now I have to get the Theme Week ready, it seems like quite a daunting job at the moment but I will do my best and see how it pans out! I am a little bit apprehensive about it. Hopefully everyone that participates will have a good time though. I will try to make it as interactive as possible and I would to have more people able to advance to later days.

I am really happy with how my portfolio has come along. I think I will keep it this way for a while. It may be a bit rambling though, but that doesn't bother me as much as I like the fact that it appears clean and efficient. I don't know whether I will add ALL the sections I was thinking of adding, if I did it really would go on forever! I may have to set up a similar page.
On the other hand, Christmas is almost here and I have done next to nothing in terms of shopping! I will have to try and squeeze it in between work in the next few days. I am also on a constant job search still and I am starting to get very frustrated. I long to go back to university where everything seems much more simple! Egads.

My TNP House Persona
This is just a fun activity that Sunny has gotten us doing for the 'TNP House' so here is my persona.While stumbling down one of the various hallways in the TNP House you notice a closed door set apart from the others. The elaborate door stands in the shadows and you can just make out the name 'Space' scratched neatly into the dark wood. You knock but there is no sound so you push the door gently opening to the room beyond. You gasp at the sight. The room is large with forest green walls, one wall even has a landscape painted onto it a beautiful dense green forest..one that could only exist in fairytales. There is a small bed shoved into one corner next to a window overlooking the gardens of the TNP House. The bed also follows the theme of the room and appears to have a grass like pattern and colour to it. On the opposite side of the room is a large deep brown desk that takes up an entire wall and a corner.
At the desk sits a young lady furiously scribbling away in a notebook. As you approach her she turns and swivels around on the chair to face you. Pen in hand she declares, " I watched the trailer for the Hunger Games movie again, and cannot wait!" Confused you just stare back at her. She has long wavy brown hair, greenish-blue eyes and freckles. She stands and you also notice she is tall, and has large 'swimmers' feet. She gestures around the room," I'm sorry I wasn't expecting visitors otherwise I would have cleaned up," she says with a weak smile. You can now take a better look at the room and discover piles of books and various other knickknacks arranged carefully on shelves, tables and dressers.
my personality: I am quite a shy person and constantly seem to fade into the background in large groups, even if they are all friends. I sometimes keep to myself and enjoy doing particular activities on my own. Sometimes I can be very disorganised but I do enjoy organising my study and colour coding notes and small things like that. I would always rather stay in for movies and pizza than go out partying. My mother has always described me as an old soul ad belong in another era.
my appearance: I have long wavy brown hair that is quite thick and is a constant tangle at the ends. Due to this I often wear it up and in a bun. I have greenish-blue eyes and lots of freckles. I am quite tall with long-ish legs and larger than average feet (size 42 US...?). Around the TNP house you would find me wearing a T-shirt and denim shorts and flip flops. There is also a gold necklace I wear constantly. I seem to be covered in small scars and bruises as I am constantly injuring myself with my clumsiness.
my likes and dislikes: I like the colour green, animals, geopgraphy, science, pools, drawing, singing (when no one can hear), reading, watching movies and late night chats with friends.
I dislike rude and self-centered people, hot days, the beach, mangoes, college food, boring lecturers, silly movies and loud people when I'm trying to sleep.
my neopet: The neopet I would have in the TNP house would be Pyamia. I have always envisioned him as a draik and would love to one day have him as a water or darigan draik with pirate clothes. Pyamia is like me but older and grumpier. He is also an old soul that enjoys learning and reading. He is also a bit of a loner and prefers the company of none or only really close friends.
my room: Has 3 green walls and one wall that is painted to look like a forrest. The window is one of those ones that is cut out and has a little seat-bench thing in it. The bench would have 2 green pillows on it. I have a double bed pushed up against a wall that has green sheets and the quilt would have a grass-pattern on it. I would have a large desk that spans the corner and length of a wall. It would hold my macbook computer, my tablet, phone and various textbooks, stationery and notebooks. Above the desk would be lots of shelving where I would put ornaments and decorations such as the green giraffe plush I got for christmas and large coloured letters that spell out my name. Small green paper lanterns would hang from the desk around the room ending near the bed. Pyamia would be curled up asleep on the end of the bed. There would be fiction books in a pile on the desk and just about anywhere else where space is available. The room would have air conditioning as I can not live without it in the Australian heat. I would also have a light switch near my bed. So that I don't have to get out of bed to switch of the lights!
my time: My time in the TNP House would be spent studying subjects, reading fiction books, staring out my window, watching movies and tv shows with the other house inhabitants and pestering the other members to teach me things like how to cook and stuff like that.
my superpower and weapon: My super power would be the ability to turn invisible at any time. My clothes would also turn invisible as with anything I was touching. This would be good for me as sometimes you just have to hide from everyone else. My weapon of choice would be a lethal bow and arrow set that would reside in my room in a locked cabinet mounted on the wall.
my talents: I don't really know if I have many as such. I am quite a good singer but never let anyone hear me. I am good with computers and understand anything related to the environment and climate change. I am good at maths. I am also great at giving advice. Not sure if those qualify as talents.
my traits: I have big feet :( but love shoes. I can stick my finger all the way down my throat without gagging or throwing up. I have weird elaborate dreams almost every night. I have a weirdly creative imagination. I think thats about all. Sometimes i feel like I have a 6th sense for what people are thinking and what will happen in the future. OOOOH spooky. xD

I really enjoy making fonts on Neopets and here are some examples, some may be fairly old and other quite new. I have not included the codes for you because I don't intend for you to use them.
