The Merge Method can be a long process. If you have already tried all the steps from the guide, and the habitarium fails to load, don't give up and experiment! As long as there are some signs of merging, you are already a step closer to unlocking. This page contains a compilation of lockout successes from Neopets users. Note: There may be some minor changes to the original wording below to improve clarity.

The egg glitch is known as mysterious-phantom-egg-thing (MPET or Meepit for short). It can be any of the following:

1. a tiny egg that's not located in a nest, it may pop up on the board when moving a nest with a nester on it. If the nester is still nesting, the tiny egg may continue to incubate.
2. a fully incubated egg that does not hatch
3. invisible, presence is noticeable only when tile0 becomes accessible (details below).

During normal playing, When your nests are empty (meaning no nesters or eggs are in nests), the x becomes accessible (outlined in white) and you will also be able to place a decoration on there. If there is a MPET, it will be visible at this point and it can be dragged to the bag for deletion. You will notice an egg drop into the bag on the bottom left of the screen.

If this occurs in a locked habitarium, you may merge with an alternate account to remove the tiny egg as long as the tile space is made available on both accounts' boards. The space is unavailable if there are any nesters or eggs sitting in nests, If you start a new account as the alternate, this shouldn't be a problem, but your main may still have something blocking it, if not enough time has passed and your nesters are still alive and nesting. Additionally, blossom meadow layout as an alternate is a poor choice because that tile is submerged in water.

The best way to remove it is to place a nest on the alt's tile for a cycle (about a minute or two). This will trick the egg and nest into becoming a single item. If you move the nest back to the bag, the main's egg should go with it. Then, if you delete them both, they should be removed from the main board, and it should be able to load again.
