Table of contents
Notes
- The PTG is ordered in that way, but it may be possible that under a particular PTGs
section you get some informations which advise you another order or that something will happen later on.
Some links will be provided to you, so you don't have to worry.
- I offered this PTG to the PMC founder and guild leader
Widowmaker181
who kindly accepted to put it on his PMC website. I've updated the images for the "Neopets version" but
the content is the same. Now both PMC members and non-PMC members can have access to my guide ;) By the
way I'll remain loyal to the PMC guild because "first choice is best choice" as I'm pleased to say it.
So I won't accept any guild invitations ;)
- I'd like to thank a particular PMC member who surprised me by kindly offering me the best ever trophy
I could get (sorry TNT, your trophies are great, but a trophy which comes from a true friend has a much
greater value to me) and moreover this trophy is unique :) :
_cool_ice_.
Here is the trophy she kindly offered me:

How to create a new Plushie Tycoon account
A new Plushie Tycoon (hereafter PT) game is released each month. If the PT game always ends at the end of each
month, it begins at different days depending on how many Neopians played the previous one. You'll know that a
new PT game is released when you'll have the following image on your screen :
Click on the button named Create Store to start a new PT game. Note that by clicking on that button
you will only create your PT account. You'll have to pay a rent to get your store (see all details about your
store here).
Some advices : Always note the hour at which you created your PT account. This will be very useful
in order to "prepare" the arrival of the Taxman (see all details about the Taxman here).
Moreover I strongly suggest you to create your PT account after 20 minutes past an hour but before 45 minutes
past that hour.
Why after 20 minutes past an hour ? As you'll read it in the PTGs 9th section (related to the
Taxman) you may need to spend your Neopoints cash on hand before the Taxman's arrival.
Why before 45 minutes past an hour ? As you'll aslo read it in the PTGs 4th section (related to
the rents) you may need time to buy materials, end all the jobs you have to create or load the plushies into
your store.
After creating your PT account, you should have the following image on your screen :
Congratulations !! You've just created your PT account. You can notice that under your username (on the above
image it's the author's username) you start with 50,000 NP. These Neopoints is for the PT game only.
You can't get them on your Neopets' account !
Aim of the game : Make a profit, i.e. when the PT game ends, you should have more than 50,000
Neopoints cash on hand, your starting neopoints. Therefore, if you have at least 50,001 Neopoints cash on hand,
it's sufficient to get a Trophy and the Plushie Tycoon avatar (see all details about Trophies and avatar
here).
My personal opinion : I didn't find the Help pages very helpful, that is why I've decided
to write this PTG.

How to set up the Plushie Tycoon Time (optional)
Preliminary remarks
- A PT game takes a lot of time, so you must be daily "available" during the PT hourly updates which
begin at 10.01 AM PT Time and end at 5.01 PM PT Time (see more details about PT updates
here) So choose wisely at what hour you want to see the first PT update !
- You can only change the PT Time before you pay your first rent !! In other words : you cannot change
the PT Time once you paid a rent.
- If you wrongly set up the PT Time, you can always restart a new PT game by clicking on the bottom
button of the PT Main Page. ;) You can't change twice the PT Time. That is why you have to restart a
new PT game if you wrongly set up the PT Time
As I mentioned above, if you want to set up your PT Time according to your timetable (school, work, etc), you
should do this before doing anything else. So you've just created your PT account and you are now on the PT
Main Page (as shown in the PTGs previous section). Click on the Main Page link located at the
top of that page. You should now have the following image on your screen :
Starting trick : You certainly have noticed that I created my account inside the hours of the PT
updates. I need some minutes to change the PT Time. In fact, I go through all the PT updates and look at the
prices of the rare gems (most expensive buyable item in the PT game) and I note at which update rare gems are
sold at the lowest price. Then I make a calculation to see at what time I should create my account with the
corrected PT Time.
How do I do this ? I only create a PT account, set up a PT Time which lies in the hourly PT updates,
click on Purchase Row Goods, then on Accessories to see the price of the rare gems which I
note on a piece of paper. Then I go back to the PT Main Page and restart a new PT game with a new PT account.
Why do I do this ? I try to start by spending the minimum Neopoints.
Note related to that Starting trick : I'm not cheating since I only do it at the beginning of the
PT game. I consider this as cheating if you use your side account (if you have one, I don't have any side
accounts) and do this Starting trick for each PT updates and each day !
So, you want to change the PT Time such that it perfectly suits your timetable. Click on the here link
(ringed by a red line on the above image) and choose a region of the real world. Done ? Now it's time to pay
your rents. You can now move to the PTGs next section.
Back to top of page
How to pay the rents (factory, warehouse and store)
Brief summary : Playing PT will learn you how it basically works when you go to supermarket and
buy goods. How are these goods produced and where are they stocked ? You need a factory where there are hired
workers who produce goods. You need a warehouse to stock these goods before you can see and buy them in a store.
Here in PT, it's exactly the same. By clicking once on theYour Factory,Your Warehouse andYour Store links on the top of each PT page, you should have the following images on your screen :
Two ways of paying those rents :
- You pay them all first (you hence spend 3,270 Neopoints) and then you buy materials and pay for some
upgrades
- You first pay the rent of your factory. You create some jobs, pay some upgrades and hire workers.
Then you pay the rent of your warehouse and your store and also some upgrades
Whatever you decide, you must pay 3,270 Neopoints if you want to go further in your PT game.
Note : You'll have to pay those rents more than once during the entire PT game. Just after the
Taxman's arrival, you'll have to pay them once again. Try to keep enough cash on hand to pay the new rents.
You'll be informed when you load the PT Main Page (see the ringed text below) :
See the PTGs 10th section and you'll know how to correctly read the PT Main Page.

Plushie Tycoon's hourly updates
Preliminary remark
It was difficult for me to choose where to put this section.
If I talk about PT updates before introducing which materials to buy and how to make money with the plushies
that are produced in your factory, you can be confused.
If I talk about PT updates after introducing the informations that I've just mentioned on the previous
paragraph, then you'll buy materials, create jobs and hire workers and maybe nothing happens when you see that
an hour passed. This is also confusing.
I've chosen the first option since I already talked about PT updates in the PTGs second section
(concerning the Plushie Tycoon Time) and because you won't spend too much time on this game if you correctly
know when there are PT updates and hence when you'll have to play.
The PT game will take you a lot of time. Since there are 8 PT updates per day, you may have to spend a few
minutes on each of the 8 hours concerned by those updates. If you have correctly set up the PT Time, you won't
miss a lot of updates.
Why are these PT updates so important ? Because there are a lot of things that happen after a PT update,
namely :
- Your cash on hand always changes when there is a PT update. Why ? Simply because you have to
pay your Manager (you can't fire him). On each PT update, if you don't have any workers in your factory
and plushies to be sold in your store, your cash on hand will decrease by an amount of 82 Neopoints to
pay that Manager.
- The prices of the materials that are used to manufacture your plushies changes (can increase or
decrease) on each PT update. This is one reason for not missing a PT update since sometimes prices are
very low and you can restock during the hour that follows a PT update.
- If there were some jobs to do and that you hired workers to do them, then after a PT update, you'll
see some manufactured plushies still in your factory whereas the remaining plushies already are in your
warehouse.
- If there are plushies that are selling in your store, you'll see the number of the sold plushies
increase after a PT update.
Note : The loading time has nothing to do with the PT updates. If it takes 3 hours to load your
plushies, then you'll have to wait 3 hours. It doesn't matter much whether it's during the PT's hourly updates
or not.
When do these PT updates start and end ?
Each day of the PT game, the PT updates begin at 10:01 AM PT Time and end at 5:01 PM PT Time.
Outside that range, nothing happens (except if you have some plushies in your warehouse which can be loaded at
any time). So you should begin to play at 9:00 AM PT Time and end at 5:00 PM PT Time.
Now that you know when to buy materials and hire workers, you can read the PTGs next sections.

How to buy materials to produce plushies
Preliminary remark
This PTGs section as well as the next two PTGs sections are the most important sections of this
guide. You'll learn about buying materials, creating jobs, hiring workers, loading plushies and upgrading your
factory, warehouse and store. This is like a cycle that you have to repeat many many times if you want to make
a lot of Neopoints in your PT game. So let the fantastic adventure begin !
Grundo or Ogrin plushies ?
This is a fundamental question. Grundo plushies are the cheapest and easiest plushies to produce whereas Ogrin
plushies are the most expensive plushies to produce. If you want to know all details about the species that are
available in the PT game, I strongly suggest you to look at this wonderful petpage :
http://www.neopets.com/~NoDogKnow.
Note on that petpage : Species that are on the left column are more expensive to produce than species
that are on the right column because the former ones require the purchase of a Rare Gem whereas the latter
ones don't.
Have you already made your choice of the species you want to produce ?
What type of materials do I have to buy ?
First look at the price of the Rare Gems by clicking on thePurchase Raw Goods link located at the
top of each PT pages and then onAccessories. You should have the following image on your screen :
Note on the price of the Rare Gems : All prices are related to each other. Therefore if the
Rare Gems are sold above 3,000 Neopoints, then all prices will be very high and you'll make a small profit
if you decide to buy some materials to produce plushies. If the Rare Gems are sold below 500 Neopoints
(rare but it happens !!), then all prices will be very low and you'll have an hour to create a lot of jobs and
restock for next hours and next jobs.
Since you know what species you want to produce, you have to buy clothes (the number of rolls depends on the
species, see all details on
http://www.neopets.com/~NoDogKnow), stuffing and packing (obligatory) and accessories (optional, again it
depends on the species).
I suggest you to only purchase green rolls under Cloth (at the beginning of your PT game, afterwards you
can try the other colors if you want), Neocotton under Stuffing, Rare Gems under Accessories
(if the species you have chosen require one) and Paper Bags under Packing (at the beginning,
afterwards you can also opt for another type of packing if you want).
Why ? Because when your plushies are sold in your store, their prices will be sufficiently high to make a
profit and let you buy materials to produce more plushies and so on. Think of a supermarket. There are goods that
have great quality (natural products for example) and whose price is more expensive than some "imitation goods".
You usually pay for the quality of the products. Here in the PT game it's the same. The more you have to pay for
a type of plushies to be produced, the greater price you'll be selling them.
Note on the selling prices in your store : It is up to you to find plushies which have the higher selling
prices. Producing 4-rolls plushies isn't always selling at higher prices than 3-rolls plushies.
How many materials do I have to buy ?
Since all prices are related to each other, you can try at the beginning of your PT game to produce :
- None
If the price of the Rare Gems is above 3,000 Neopoints
- 2 species
If the price of the Rare Gems is between 2,500 and 3,000 Neopoints
- 4 species
If the price of the Rare Gems is between 2,000 and 2,500 Neopoints
- 6 species
If the price of the Rare Gems is between 1,500 and 2,000 Neopoints
- 8 species
If the price of the Rare Gems is between 1,000 and 1,500 Neopoints
- 10 species
If the price of the Rare Gems is under 1,000 Neopoints
Note on the above list : You can produce more (or less) species if you want. If I suggest you those
ranges it's because you'll have to keep some Neopoints for upgrading your factory and store (see all details about
your factory here and your store here). When you'll have plenty of
Neopoints cash on hand, you can add 8 species to each of the above ranges.
Note about restocking : Only restock when you have a lot of Neopoints !! If you have purchased all
the materials that you need to produce your plushies and if you have already upgraded your factory and store and
paid the Shipping Cost (see PTGs next section) and you still have a lot of Neopoints cash on hand,
then you can restock when the prices are low. But keep in mind that you can't have more than 89 stuffs in
your stocks (in fact you can : buy 88 stuffs first and then buy 10 stuffs of the same type) when you have less
than 150,000 Neopoints cash on hand. If you have more than 150,000 Neopoints cash on hand, then that limit is
fixed at 249 stuffs.
Don't run out of Neopoints !!
Try to always keep a sufficient amount of Neopoints to be able to pay your Manager in your factory (you can't fire
him). Since it costs you 82 Neopoints per PT updates and in the beginning you can't produce a lot of plushies at
a time, it will be wiser to keep Neopoints for at least 5-6 PT updates, i.e. 6x82=492 Neopoints (round it at 500
Neopoints). Try to avoid such a painful situation :
Fortunately I got Neopoints from those plushie sales to pay my Manager. If you run out of Neopoints you can restart
another PT game. Note that I had to restart once after two full days playing PT and I've still managed to get the
Gold Trophy so you CAN restart a PT game and still win a trophy !!
Back to top of page
How to create a job and upgrade your factory
The PTGs previous section gave you all the informations to purchase materials. Now you have to use them to
create a job and then hire workers to do the jobs during the PT's hourly updates.
How do I create a job ?
Click on theYour Factory link located at the top of each PT page. If you have just paid the rent of your
factory, you should get the following image on your screen :
You have three links below the image of your factory.
- The first one (the link on the left) will allow you to create a job, except if you already have created
18 jobs (in other words : you can't have more than 18 jobs in your factory at a time).
- The second one (the link in the middle) will allow you to see all the jobs you have created and even
the previous ones that have already been done. It may be useful to see how many jobs are currently running
at a time.
- The third one (the link on the right) will allow you to hire/fire workers.
Now choose the species that you want to produce. You have to create a job so click on the first link and select
the name of the species that you have chosen in the menu which only lists the available species that you can
produce since you have bought all the materials that you need. Here is the image of the screen you should have :
UnderCloth you can see how many Sq Feet that are required to produce these plushies (it varies from 100 to
600). Since you was allowed to select your species, it means that you have enough clothes in stock (see 3)
UnderComplexity you can see how many workers have to work on thoses plushies.
Now if you want to produce your plushies, you need to click ON EACH check button and then press theSubmit
Job button. You then get the following image on your screen :
Verify that the color, the stuffing, the accessories and the packing is mentioned in bold where I ringed that text.
You can also see the maximum plushies you can produce for that job just below the bold text. You can produce
multiples of 100 plushies depending on how many Rare Gems (of the same species), Paper Bags,
Neocottons and Clothes you have in stock. For example: if you want to produce 300 plushies of a
particular species, you need 3 Rare Gems (if it is required), 3 Paper Bags, 3 Neocottons and
3x number of rolls (all of the same color !!) of Clothes.
Once you selected the number of plushies to be produced, press theStart Job button. When you click on that
button, the number of rolls, Rare Gem(s), Neocotton(s) and Paper Bag(s) required to produce
your plushies are removed from your stock.
Repeat the whole process for a second job. Then, when you try to create a third job, you get the following image
on your screen :
In fact, only two jobs can be created for a particular size of your factory. Therefore, if you want to create up
to 8 jobs, then you have to first upgrade your factory to the size 4. Each time you create two jobs, you will
be asked to upgrade your factory before creating a third one. Once your factory reaches the maximum size (size 9)
you can't upgrade it any more and hence you can't do more than 18 jobs at a time.
Note on upgrading your factory : The amount of Neopoints that you have to pay for an upgrade depends
on how many days you still have to wait before paying the rents once again. In fact, you'll pay more Neopoints to
upgrade your factory if you still have 7 days to pay them than if you upgrade your factory just a day before. You
can see the exact amounts of Neopoints to pay for each size upgrade and for each day on this wonderful petpage :
http://www.neopets.com/~NoDogKnow.
Have you created all your jobs ? Have you upgraded your factory to the right size ? Ok it's time to hire workers.
How do I hire workers ?
First click on the third link (see the top image of this section) named Personnel and then click on Hire
Workers. You now have to choose between all categories which type of workers you need to do the jobs. To be
sure that most of your jobs are done, I give you two real examples :
- Imagine a school where there are 5,000 pupils. If there are only 4 teachers, how would they manage to complete
their syllabus ? Perhaps some pupils will listen to their teachers but the great majority of these pupils will do
something else like playing football...
- Imagine now a company of 5,000 employees for 10 departments each of which only have one director. How can those
poor directors supervise their employees' work ?
You have to choose a good Employees/Managers ratio in order to see most of your jobs done. Avoid Dropouts (they are
the cheapest employees but also the "laziest"...) and choose among Graduates, Trainees and Journeymen. I usually
use the 250 Trainees/25 Managers ratio at the beginning of the PT game (see the following image). It works good for
4-6 jobs per PT update as well as for 18 jobs per PT update. Note that if you try to produce more than 100 plushies at a time, you should multiply the
number of Trainees and Managers by the number of hundreds of plushie you intend to produce. Therefore if you want
to produce 300 plushies at a time, you'll need 750 Trainees and 75 Managers.
Note on hiring workers : You hire workers so that most of your jobs are done. Once you got a PT
update, fire all workers since you don't want to pay a lot of Neopoints for the few remaining jobs (it's a waste
of Neopoints). Since you need to hire and fire your workers, it is wise to click on the link Click to set
this as your default work force. Then you don't have to hire 100 workers at a time each time you've created
some jobs. I once had a bad surprise to see after one PT update that with my usual 250 Trainees/25 Managers ratio
only two jobs (out of 18) were done and moreover 14 out of the 16 remaining jobs were at 0 plushie produced. I
don't know if it was a bug or not, but I lost a lot of Neopoints for nothing. Fortunately on the next PT updates,
13 jobs out of 18 (I've added two new jobs) were done. I need to check that thing in order to update my PTG.
Ok, you have created all your desired jobs and hired all workers to do them. Now you have to wait for a PT update.
See the PTGs next section to know what to do.

How to load plushies and upgrade your warehouse
Here are two images that you can have on your screen before a PT update :
Your PT Main Page BEFORE a PT update
|
Your job list BEFORE a PT update
|
Here are the corresponding two images after a PT update :
Your PT Main Page AFTER a PT update
|
Your job list AFTER a PT update
|
Let's begin with the most significant and visible change. Before the PT update, I had 6 jobs (see "3 before").
After that PT update, there are 3 jobs that haven't been totally completed. Where are the remaining jobs ?
You'll find them in your warehouse (see the following image). As you'll see, hiring 250 Trainees and 25
Managers will allow you to do 3-4 jobs out of 6 and later on the PT game, when you'll have more Neopoints cash
on hand, this ratio will allow you to do 13-14 jobs out of 18. How is it possible ? I take the example
of the school again. Imagine that pupils have 3 homeworks to do. Maybe they will do all their homeworks or
perhaps a particular excercise is too difficult and they'll wait the following day to get some hints from
their teacher. Suppose now that their teacher acts tyranincally (lol) and gives 7 homeworks to do. Pupils
will do their best to complete all their homeworks.
Honestly it's a bad start since only 3 jobs have been completed and not 4. At the beginning you don't have a
lot of Neopoints cash on hand. You have to spend 5,550 Neopoints for hiring 250 Trainees and 25 Managers so
it's better to see the maximum of jobs completed after a PT update. However these three jobs will still give
me a lot of Neopoints so I'm not too afraid about running out of Neopoints.
Talking about Neopoints, look at "1 before" and "1 after". The cash on hand has decreased by an amount of 5,550
Neopoints, which is correct. On the PT Main Page, you can see that after a PT update, this page have been updated
too. Next to "2 after" you can see the total number of manufactured plushies, hundreds of plushies are now either
in your warehouse (it's the actual case) or loaded into your store and the remaining still are in your factory.
Those lines were not on the PT Main Page before that PT update (see next to "2 before"). It's normal since it's
the first PT update of my PT game ;)
Ok, let's see the warehouse. Click on theYour Warehouse link located at the top of each PT page and here
is the image I got on my screen :
I know that you'll be sick of waiting for ages that the status changes. But hey ! There are a lot of plushies, so
it takes time ! You have to upgrade your warehouse if you don't want to waste too much time in loading your
plushies. How ? Click on the Expand link and pay the amount of Neopoints required to upgrade your
warehouse to size 2 or above. Note that you can't go above size 9 (the same as for your factory). Moreover, unlike
the factory upgrades, you can upgrade your warehouse the way you want !
Note on expanding your warehouse : Actually, the upgrade of your warehouse is the less important
upgrade of your buildings because you certainly have not enough cash on hand to upgrade your warehouse sufficiently
so as to reduce the loading time to 60 minutes... In fact you'll pay a lot of Neopoints to reduce the loading time
for a couple of minutes. I consider this as a waste of Neopoints. I usually wait to have about 75,000 - 100,000
Neopoints cash on hand to upgrade the warehouse. Moreover, as I explained it in the PTGs previous section,
you'll pay more Neopoints to upgrade your warehouse if there are 7 days before paying the rents than if you have
to pay the rent on the following day. Again, you can see all details about upgrading your warehouse (prices per
size and per day) on
http://www.neopets.com/~NoDogKnow. On this page, you'll also find the loading time which depends on three main
criteria :
- The number of jobs completed. The more jobs completed, the more time you'll have to wait...
- The size of your warehouse. The higher size, the shorter will be the loading time.
- The number of hundreds plushies to be loaded. The table that you can find on
http://www.neopets.com/~NoDogKnow stands
for 100 plushies to be loaded at a time. If you have for example 300 plushies of a particular species to
be loaded, you have to multiply by 3 the loading time indicated in that table !!
How do you know when the loading time has ended ? When you have the following image on your screen :
When you check all the boxes and then click onShip Plushies, you'll pay the amount of Neopoints indicated
under Shipping Cost. Note that it will take 5 minutes to transfer your plushies from your warehouse into
your store. So if you don't want to miss a PT update, always pay the Shipping Cost before 55 minutes past
an hour !
Note on Shipping Cost : This is a fixed fees. You have to pay 278 Neopoints per hundreds of
plushies. If for example you want to ship 200 plushies at a time, you'll have to pay 2*278=556 Neopoints.
Also beware !! Do not run out of Neopoints by trying to ship too much plushies at a time !
Remember that you have to pay your manager 82 Neopoints per PT update. I know that it's the last step before
having hundreds of plushies in your store and getting a lot of Neopoints back, but you'll spoil hours of PT games
if you run out of Neopoints before getting those Neopoints from your sales !!
Now that you have a few Neopoints cash on hand, you have to fire all your workers (since you can't pay them). To
do so, click onYour Factory, then onPersonnel and finally onFire Workers. You should
have the following image on your screen :
If you click on Trainees or Managers you can fire a particular category of workers. But since
you're low on Neopoints, click directly on Fire All Workers!. Note that a Manager will still remain in
your factory.
Ok, your plushies are loaded and transfered into your store and you fired all your workers ? Congratulations !!
You've done a great work so far. Now you'll be rewarded when you see tons of Neopoints coming in your hands (in
the PT game, not in your Neopets' account). See the PTGs next section for all the details.
Back to top of page
How to upgrade your store
Unlike the PTGs previous two sections, you have practically nothing to do but wait for the Neopoints to
come in your hands :D
However at the beginning of your PT game, you have to upgrade your store. Then you can sit and wait ;)
Why do I have to upgrade my store ?
If you don't upgrade your store, then you'll see that you'll manage to sell 3-4 plushies per
PT updates. If you find that the loading time was awfully long, then what about waiting SEVERAL DAYS (!!) to get
your Neopoints back ? No way ! Upgrade your store and you'll get your Neopoints back faster !
What do I have to do to upgrade my store ?
You have four links below the image of your store. Click first onUpgrades and you'll
have the following image on your screen :
Since you begin with 50,000 Neopoints cash on hand, it is wise not to spend Neopoints on the last two upgrades
( Display Shelves and Front Sign). Don't worry, you'll quickly sell your plushies even though you
don't pay all upgrades. Each upgrade has 5 levels and once you pay the fifth one, the corresponding link disappears
and it becomes a black plain text. If you want to know how many Neopoints it will cost you to buy for example the
first three upgrades, you can find all details on
http://www.neopets.com/~NoDogKnow. It's wise to decide first which upgrades and which advertisements you want
to pay so you can know in advance how many Neopoints you'll spend by upgrading your store.
Talking about advertisements, click now on Advertisements and you'll get the following image on your
screen :
Here you can see that the first four upgrades are cheap whereas the last one is awfully expensive... Since you
already planed which upgrades and which advertisements you want for your store, you now have to pay.
Note on upgrading your store : If Plushie Tycoon is a new game for you, don't take any risks ! Pay
those upgrades after that you bought all materials you wanted to produce your plushies, after that you hired
(and fired) your workers and after that you paid the Shipping Cost. Keep 1,000 Neopoints cash on hand
to pay the Manager that you can't fire, so spend some Neopoints on those upgrades. When you get used to Plushie
Tycoon, then you'll know how many neopoints to spend on the materials and on the store upgrades.
Note on expanding your store : Like the warehouse, you can upgrade the size of your store (by
clicking on the Expand link) the way you want. The only difference is that you don't have to pay
Neopoints to upgrade the size of your store !! Actually I don't expand my store. I will be asked to do so when
I'll send too many plushies at a time in my store. This way I know that when I have to pay the rents once again,
I won't pay an over-priced rent for my store.
Ok, you have paid all the upgrades you wanted for your store. Now you have to wait that your plushies are
completely sold (i.e. if you have 100 plushies of a particular species, then you have to sell those 100 plushies
to get your Neopoints back) to purchase materials and start again the procedure. Since there are already some
uncompleted jobs in your factory, you don't have to buy too many materials (except if you want to restock). Once
you have a lot of Neopoints cash on hand, don't forget to pay the remaining upgrades so that you can sell your
plushies even faster !!
The PTGs next section deals with a person that nobody likes : the TAXMAN !! Don't worry he doesn't bite :D
Back to top of page
THE TAXMAN COMETH!!!
When does the Taxman come ?
As I already said in the PTGs first section, you should note the hour at which you created your PT account.
Then look at the PT Main Page. The remaining days before you have to pay the rents of your buildings also
correspond to the remaining days before the Taxman come. Therefore, suppose that you've created your PT account on
a Saturday at 8:24 AM NST (after setting up or not the PT Time), then the Taxman will always come on Saturdays at
8:24 AM NST.
Can I avoid the visit of the Taxman ?
Yes and No...
Yes : Since you know that a PT game ends the last day of every month you can turn it out to your
advantage. Suppose a new PT game starts on the 14th of February. If you create your PT account on that day, the
Taxman will come twice (on the 21st and on the 28th of February). If you create your account two days later,
i.e. on the 16th of February, then you will receive the visit of the Taxman only once (on the 23rd of February) !!
It is really easier to save your Neopoints by starting with a two days delay.
No : When the Taxman comes, you should be connected to Neopets to see him coming and checking your
cash on hand. Don't think of avoiding him... In real life, if you don't pay your taxes, you'll get problems and
moreover the more you wait, the more problems you'll get. Here in PT game it's the same !! But don't worry ;) If
you're not showing a profit, i.e. if you have less than 50,001 Neopoints cash on hand, then nothing happens (read
below to get all details)
What happen when the Taxman comes ?
There are only two possible scenarios.
1/ If you're showing a profit, then you'll get the following image on your screen :
As you can see on the above image, the more Neopoints you have cash on hand, the more taxes you have to pay :( You
can find all tax rates on
http://www.neopets.com/~NoDogKnow. Since you work hard to get your Neopoints, always try to get the second
scenario, except if the Taxman comes on the last day of the month. If this is the case, I'm sorry but you'll have
to pay the maximum taxes because I strongly advise you not to decrease the amount of Neopoints cash on hand under
50,001 Neopoints. Remember that you have to make a profit at the end of the month to get a Trophy, the Plushie
Tycoon avatar and Neopoints (see all details about rewards here).
2/ If you're not showing a profit, then you'll get the following image on your
screen :
Congratulations !! You haven't paid taxes and you saved your Neopoints !!
Note on the visit of the Taxman : The first thing to do after the visit of the Taxman is to pay all
your rents. If you wait too long to pay your rents, you'll have to pay Neopoints as penalties. Again you can find
all details about those penalties on
http://www.neopets.com/~NoDogKnow
What do I have to do to avoid paying taxes ?
Easy answer but hard to achieve : Keep less than 50,001 Neopoints cash on hand.
Indeed, you'll have to spend your Neopoints such as to be under 50,001 Neopoints. Beware !!
Since you have to pay the rents of your buildings, keep enough Neopoints cash on hand to pay them !! Now,
if you have already less than 50,001, go on with buying materials, hiring workers and paying the Shipping
Cost as you continuously do. On the other hand, if you have a lot of Neopoints cash on hand, this will become
very difficult to reduce them to 50,000 Neopoints or below. I strongly suggest you to start spending your
Neopoints one or two days before the Taxman's arrival. Produce more than 100 plushies at a time (this will help
you since it will take more time to sell all plushies). Restock no matter if prices are low or high. Pay the
remaining upgrades for your buildings. These are the main way to spend your Neopoints. With practice you'll know
what to do to reduce your cash on hand and make profit when you get your Neopoints back.
The PTGs next section will help you to read the PT Main Page. Having a good interpretation of this page
can make you spare a lot of time.

How to read the Plushie Tycoon Main Page
Do you remember the last image and sentence of the PTGs third section ? Here I'll give some tricks to
interpret all the informations you have on the PT Main Page so you'll quickly know what to do. First of all,
here is the mentioned image that I updated on purpose :
This is how I interpret my PT Main Page :
- I first look at the remaining days before paying my rents (and hence preparing the Taxman's arrival).
On this image, the Taxman has just come since in 1 I can readis now due. Moreover I know that I
didn't pay taxes since in 2 my cash on hand was under 50,001 Neopoints
- I now read what is next to 3. I have 1,100 plushies in my warehouse and I have the information44,224NP in factory employee costs per day next to 4. It means that jobs have been completed on
the previous PT hour. And the indication that1,026 plushies in your store inventory means that
I've been creating a lot of jobs to reduce my cash on hand. Normal since it was the day of the Taxman's
visit.
- Finally I look at my stocks (see 5). Here I have 43 items. Since I have only 27,503 Neopoints cash on
hand, it means that I restocked when prices were low (after paying my rents I'll have less than 1,000
Neopoints cash on hand). If prices were high, I wouldn't have taken the risk to run out of Neopoints in
restocking
This is what I do :
- I first pay my rents. It will cost me 8,820+8,460+9,450=26,730 Neopoints. Since I have 27,503 Neopoints
cash on hand I'll end with 773 Neopoints cash on hand.
- I can't pay all my workers so I immediately fire all of them !
- Since I've upgraded my warehouse to size 9 (I paid the rent of my warehouse 8,460 Neopoints) and that I
have 11 completed jobs (since there are 1,100 plushies in my warehouse), the loading time will be shorter
than 60 minutes, i.e. I can still load these plushies in my store before the next PT update. But since I
only have 773 Neopoints left, I won't pay any Shipping Cost. I don't want to run out of Neopoints
because I have to pay my Manager and I have enough Neopoints to pay him for 773/82=9 PT updates. I know
that I'll get my Neopoints back before the 10th PT update so I'm relax.
- Finally I look at my stocks (see 5). Here I have 43 items. Since I have only 27,503 Neopoints cash on
hand, it means that I restocked for some further PT updates. I prepare in advance all the jobs that I can
do with my stocks.
- Now since I'm low on Neopoints, I wait until I get my Neopoints back. Perhaps it will take some PT
updates so I know that I have nothing to do for the next 2-3 PT updates.
If you can correctly interpret the PT Main Page, you spare a lot of time and you can do other things like playing
Flash Games to earn Neopoints or restocking your shop, etc.
The next section is the PTGs last section which I'm sure you were looking forward to seeing what kind of
rewards you can get by playing a PT game.

Whenever you reach one of the above minimum requirement, you get the corresponding trophy and the following
Plushie Tycoon avatar :
And you are also rewarded in Neopoints depending on how well you did in your PT game (you can see all details
about rewards in Neopoints on
http://www.neopets.com/~NoDogKnow. As an example, on June 2007 on my second attempt, I reached about
1,400,000 Neopoints cash on hand and I received the following neomail from TNT :
Final words
It is a rather simple game to play whenever you're ready to spend a lot of time (for example during holidays).
And you can win a lot of Neopoints as a reward at the end of a PT game (you'll need to wait a few days delay
until TNT sends rewards to all Neopians which have made a profit). It can be useful if you're not a good gamer
;) Hope this PTG will help you to achieve your goals.
