Thou hast set foot into the land of Pickledom.
State thy business or perish by the hands of the Pickle Guards.
Pardon the guards, they are not too fond of visitors. Welcome! Welcome to Pickledom. My name is Picklebob, and I will be your guide to Pickledom. Now, guest, where shall we begin?
What? How do I know your name? Why I am the magnificent Picklebob!
Now Pickledom is a place of great intellectual thinking. Oh, I must hurry to prior arrangements. I will leave you with this rather mystical book. one touch and you are where you want to be.
I must warn you. If you ever spell Conundrum, Condrum, you will be forever banned from this land!

Preface - A History Lesson

Kindness is a brief preface to ten volumes of exaction.

On the 23rd of the Month of Running in Year 2, a local Lenny Wizard began posing questions for anyone and everyone to answer. The first 1000 to answer correctly received a prize. Soon the number was cut down to 500 and trophies were beginning to be awarded. The first 10 winners received double the prize item. On Lenny Day in Year 6, the Lenny Wizard decided to award an avatar to the first 250.

Then, later in Year 6, the Lenny Conundrum was changed to an open prize pool where the first 250 received the avatar, a trophy, and a prize. All winners receive part of the prize pool (2,000,000 neopoints split equally amongst the winners.) The gold trophy winners receive only one item once again.

Chapter 1: The Rules of the Game

You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.

You must answer the conundrum correctly in order to receive a prize. You have only one chance so use it wisely.

Chapter 2: Answering a Sage

A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.

Many think that you must be smart to master the Lenny Conundrum, but that is not entirely true. Intelligence is but a tool, and a tool is useless if you don't know how to use it. There are two basic things you need to know when it comes to the Lenny Conundrum, book smarts and "neo" smarts.

These two forms of knowledge can aid you in every conundrum as there are, in a broad sense, three forms of conundrums; math, logic, and guessing. Oftentimes, it's a mixture of several of these elements.

Math
Requires mathematical equations and formulae. (That is, book smarts).

You can find the mathematical formulae and conversions almost anywhere if you use your resources wisely, so these conundrums are quite easy. It's just down to a matter of how fast you can do them before anyone else does.

Logic
Requires non-mathematical, logical thinking and cryptography. (That is, book smarts + neo smarts)

Now, you must improve upon your Lenny Conundrum mentality by simplifying. Most often times people overanalyze the questions when the answer is right before their very eyes. (Now, as a teaser, I'll have to mention that every bit of information is useful and a certain set of words that are sometimes found in the LC can get you started.)

Cryptography, the intricate art of encoding and decoding messages, is often most common when you have a box, a mash of letters, or a lines of gibberish text on the screen. It is not that easy to master although neopets uses simple cryptography (e.g. Caesar's Box and Transposition), so I won't go into detail about it. (Check out the Secrets of Decoding in the Information section in Section 5 of Chapter 3.)

Study the past conundrums and how the letters are arranged. Perhaps you have to divide it into a perfect square or take letters from both ends of the line.

Sequences
As you may know, sequences are a common for of conundrums which may be mathematical or logical. In most cases, it requires more logic than it does math. Even more to the point, they often times require lists that are comprised of data directly from the site including but not limited to neopets and items.

Guessing
Pure guessing, such as how many eyeballs are in this jar?

Information
You can search the old NT for 'Conundrum to see solutions to the first 60 Lenny Conundrums.

Here is an NT article about decoding: Secrets of Decoding Revealed.

The most important thing to the Lenny Conundrum is to answer correctly. You do not want to do all that work only to answer incorrectly. In mathematical conundrums, you must know whether it specifies how to round. This makes the difference between a correct answer and a wrong answer.

Chapter 3: The Winner's Circle

Without losers, where would the winners be?

Currently, only the first 250 people to answer the Lenny Conundrum correctly would receive items, avatar, and trophy. It is possible that the first 250 get a bronze trophy. The first 25 get a silver trophy. The first 5 get a gold trophy. However, no one is quite sure how this works, but I do believe that this follows the thought of the top 2% getting gold, top 10% getting silver and top 100% getting bronze, which is apparent many trophy systems on the site. It is only those who are quick to act and quick to answer correctly who receive the top honors. It helps most when you see the Conundrum within seconds after release.

If you have one you have answered correctly, you will receive a neomail from tnt some time before the next Conundrum is released. This is usually on Wednesdays, although it may also be on Thursday if the days are running late.

The Lenny Conundrum CHAMPION!!! trophy is a trophy that stacks, meaning that if you have a CHAMPION!!! trophy and win again, you will get x2CHAMPION!!!. If you have x2CHAMPION!!! and get another gold, it will be -invalid_characters-HAMPION and so on. If you had a non-gold trophy before getting a gold one, you will get x2CHAMPION!!! regardless of whether or not it was silver or bronze.

Chapter 4: The Pickle Effect

How camest thou in this pickle?

The Pickle Effect, or so it has been dubbed by blackcairn, was started during the revolution of LC107. Certain persons began a satirical post pertaining to the freedom of answer giving during LC106. They said that the answer was pickle, after you added the apples, oranges, lemons, and whatever vegetative component of that convoluted equation.

A heated ethical debate ensued after receiving heavy criticism, from one side to the more carefree side. Both sides had good arguments, but the Pickle Revolution did not last long. Perhaps, if all citizens of Pickledom raised their Pickle Lances and Pickle Swords in the charge against such folly, as to give away the answer, the Way of the Lenny will be restored.

Chapter 5: Lost in the Mail

Did you ever feel like the whole world was going to a party and your invitation got lost in the mail?

If you feel like you got the correct answer and did not get your neomail, you are not alone. You may have entered incorrectly even though you have the answer on paper. Next time, to make sure you did not make a mistake, take a screenshot before you send in your answer. This can easily be done and won't take much of your time. Just hit the Print Screen button, which is next to the F12 button, if you don't have that then you'll have to look through the help files of your computer, but I do believe that it's Apple † Shift † 3 to take a picture, but I haven't used an Apple in a while. Once you've sent in your answer after taking the screenshot, then open up a graphics program and paste the screenshot onto the blank canvas and save it. Now you can refer to it later. However, this does absolutely nothing for you. It will only prove whether or not you entered in the answer you think you answered.

LC114 was glitchy. It was still open when the neomails went out. So some people got their first neomail saying 155 NP then a second that said 155 NP, and some even got a third, while some received none at all.

Chapter 6: Appealing to the Ruling Powers

Anyone who conducts an argument by appealing to authority is not using his intelligence; he is just using memory.

A more passive way of dealing with answer-givers has cropped up in a major way, supported by a few good LCers. This, of course, is the petition. One such petition can be found here: http://www.neopets.com/~gingercourtney.

Note that this petitions is inactive.
