story.
Tell me, what did you think when you entered this room? Wow, this chamber hasn't been cleaned for five years? Well, that's a part of the story...
I was born in Shenkuu. In the house where my parents lived. It wasn't very big, but big enough for a small family like ours. The size of the house was very strange to me. Mom and dad always told me we where from a nobel english family. Nobel families used to live in castles and other big houses, not a wooden den. One day we received a letter. It said we got a heritage from an old grand grandfather, including an enormous castle somewhere in england. Insteed of being happy my parents looked frightened and shocked. The months after the news my parents where uncomfortable and awkward. When I was asleep my parents sat around the kitchen table and talked. -"Well, lad", said my father one morning, "your mother and I decided we're going to move to england". My mother wept.
And so it happened. We moved to england. First by boat then by horse cart. We arrived in a small village called Cranberryville. The castle was build on a big hill near to a wood. You had to take a horse cart to come there. We arrived at a big gateway. The trellis where old and rusty and it squeaked when you opened it. Behind the gateway lay a long path so you could walk to the castle. From there you could see a little house in the woods. -"The butlers house" said my father. But whe didn't have a butler. So we used it to stock our logs. The castle itself was big and old. There where many chambers, and there was a long hall with armours and portraits. My father said this was how we, nobel person, had to live. In a big old castle somewhere in england. A few months after we moved in my father started to rave. The doctor said it was a local flu but he seemed very sick to me. Three weeks after the doctor visited us, my father dissapeared. We looked everywhere. In all the chambers, the butlers house, the woods. But we didn't find him. My mom wept all night and she only came out of bed to eat. It didn't take much time till she was sick too. The doctor came every day. One night, when I tried to give her some food (she refused to eat) she hold my arm. Her always so sparkling eyes where mat. -"Nathan" she said "your father, they took him, and they're gonna take me too. Take care of yourself Nathan, this house is.." I couldn't here what she tried to say. She was dead.
I had to take care of myself. That's what she said. Every day I went to the village to buy new food. I cleaned the chambers and the armours. I went to the woods on my horse. But then.. I was clearing up the portraits, like always. I never looked at the names of the persons. But this evening I did.. Engelbert Hall, Maria Diova-Hall, Peter Jacob Hall, Jonathan Hall.. I frightened. Jonathan Hall, the name of my father! I looked at the portrait, my fathers face looked to me with cold eyes. I looked at the portrait next to him. Katherine Leonard-Hall, my mother! She also looked to me with the same cold eyes. I was sure these portraits weren't here when we moved in. Then I remembered I had to cook dinner for myself.
I tried to forgot the portrait thing and never walked through the portraits hall. It was hard to care for the castle by my own. But it worked. It helped me not to think about the portraits. But then it happened. I sat on my horse, we walked through the woods. Then I fell. It hurted my whole body. I stood up and I drove back to the castle. At home it seemed nothing was happend to me after the fall. That night I walked through the portraits hall. I looked at my parents portraits. My mothers portrait seemed to smile. I looked at the portret next to her. And then I remembered her words. Cursed, this house is cursed.. It was a portait of a young man. The name said: Nathan Hall
the owner.
She's the only one who understands me.
All others ignore me because I'm 'strange'. She's the one who calms me down
when I'm upset. Kina is a wonderful owner and caretaker.
She loves to draw me and she's saving for a paintbrush and a lot more.
