Boxes for Everyone

Dear fellow paypal users

The goal of this page is to unite people who can't get NC cards and therefore aren't able to get gift boxes. We've been trying to contact TNT about this matter for 5 months now, and TNT has been ignoring us for five months as well. Together, we hope to be able to achieve what we alone couldn't do: get an answer from TNT why we get less, yet pay the same?

Availability:

We can't just go to the next-door shop to buy ourselves a NC card. For many of us, the nearest NC store is across the ocean. This raises for us the following problems:

We don't have 'friends' who can buy a card for us
It's nice to have friends who offer you to buy a card for you. The risk is however not all these friends can be trusted. It's easy to scam someone in offering them an NC card to get personal billing information out of them. Especially children can be easy tricked for this, but older users desperate for boxes can easy fall for the same trick. There're be good friends who just want to buy a card for their friends to make them happy for sure and who expect nothing in return for it. These are wonderful people, but unfortunately, not everyone is this way

No boxes' will drive many people off-site.
Neopets has always been very strict about off-site linking or even mentioning those sites. In general, this is a good rule; it protects people against scams, but also about other bad things that can be found on the Internet. However, with the 'no boxes for paypal users' thing, a contradicting thing is happening. People who can't get boxes on the site, will go to other sites who offer those boxes for higher prizes, so sellers there can make a nice profit on this situation.

Equal rights:

When you the pay same amount for something as some else does, you do expect to get the same, now don't you? Paypal users experience otherwise...

For the same amount of NC, we expect to also get the same as others.
1000 NC bought through paypal is as much as a 1000NC card bought in a store.
Taking it paypal may give more profit per individual buyer then a card. Paypal may charge fees for using it, but cards have their productions costs (the reason why you can buy 500 NC through paypal, but no 500 NC card, it's to expensive to produce them), distribution costs and the profit margin of stores that sell them. Yet, the more expensive method gets the most profits from it.
Next to that, it should be mentioned buying NC online is much greener then using a car to go to a store. Now, wouldn't that be something that could be rewarded too?

Nobody is left out?
Gift boxes aren't that much wanted because you can use them to gives items to friends, family members or other people. No, they are wanted so much because you can trade with them. Ever since gift boxes has been given out, people started using them to trade items. After seeing how it went for a while, TNT made trading with gift boxes legal. A NC mall trading feature has been desired by almost everyone who has ever bought at the NC mall. Now such a feature has arrived, but not all users will profit from it. In the past, international users who for many reasons didn't want to/couldn't use the paid features, has never been really left out: when it was for NP items (like VPCs), they could still sell them, free keyquest tokens has been given out, free NC has been given out, for those who couldn't get Neopets Mobile and still wanted a Lutari, they had a chance of getting one through the labray (not to mention people could just create them last Lutari day)...So many features were users who could not use the feature were compensated for, except for the gift boxes. Why can they compensate for so many other features, but not for this highly desired one?

Other solutions we can live with:

What we'd like to see most of all is we paypal users simply getting boxes every time we buy through paypal. Simply one box for each $5 we pay for NC. So, when we buy 1000NC, we'll be getting two boxes, six boxes when we buy 3000NC. However, we would be satisfied with some of the following solutions as well:

Gift boxes sold through the NC mall
Letting people buy giftboxes at the NC mall for a certain prize would solve a lot of problem already. At least we can still get gift boxes in a safe way without the risk of getting scammed or overpaying and be able to participate in the trading activities.
Boxes for sale through the mall would also work great for those people who can actually access boxes though NC cards, since they usually have more items they want to trade then they have boxes.

NC trading post
With a NC trading post, we might still not be able to get gift boxes, but at least we'll be able to participate in trading NC items. Besides that, although real problems have rarely occurred so far, but the thing remains, the gift boxes trading system is subjected to scams, even though it's reportable when someone agrees to a trade, gets the items and then runs of without proceeding the trade.
However, when you trade an NP item, wouldn't you definitely say no to someone who asks you if they could gift you an item and you gift them another item in return? Wouldn't you tell them that sounds very much like a scam and you'd rather use the trading post? When you thing about it, it sounds actually strange you do basically the same thing with NC items, items you actually paid with real money! A NC trading post, set up similar like the 'regular' NP trading post, but for NC items only, would prove a great alternative.

You can help us!:

Since taking individual action hasn't worked out for the last five months, we are hoping uniting ourselves might bring TNT more aware of our problems. That's why we are asking everyone who's willing to support our cause, to send a neomail to tooru_niimurahh
More arguments why we paypal users deserve giftboxes too, other solutions for gift boxes, and any other comments you can have…they are always welcome! Please neomail and we'll add it to the site.
Also, please note that we are not angry towards the people who can actually get gift boxes and we are not accusing them of anything, they just have luck living in the place where they live. Most of the times, they are actually nice people. We do however hope to raise some more awareness among them that not everyone is able to get giftboxes, which is a sad thing indeed.
