About Sweep's Plot Prize Guides

These plot prize guides have been compiled so that you can have a quick and easy comparison between the NP values of various plot prizes. Hopefully this will help you to maximise the value you get for your plot points. If you are careful with how you spend your plot points, it should be very easy to make a neopoint profit and get all the items you want as well :)

How do I use this guide?
The best way to use this guide is to compare the Return Ratios of prizes in your price range, and try to work out what combination of prizes will maximise the value you get from your plot points. See the examples below...

What is a "Return Ratio" and why does it matter?
The "Return Ratio" is the neopoints value of the item divided by the plot points value. For example, Leftover Scrap Metal (from the Return of Sloth Plot) costs 5 plot points, and sells for approximately 50np: 50np/5pts gives a ratio of 10.
Items with a higher Return Ratio are better value for your plot points.

Shouldn't I just redeem for the prizes I want?
If you want to do that, then yes. But that is not necessarily the smartest way to spend your plot points. Let's look at some examples from the Return of Sloth plot - please note that these specific examples may not be relevant if the NP price of the items has changed:

Example - I want a Resistance Battle Visor for my pet. I have 10,000 plot points.
Option 1 - Spend your 10,000 plot points to get the Visor, and keep it for your pet.
Option 2 - Spend your 10,000 plot points on other items with higher Return Ratios than the Visor (eg books and toys), sell them, then use the NP you earn to buy the Visor. Let's say you spend your 10,000 plot points on a combination of items that you sell for a total of 60,000np. You then buy a Resistance Battle Visor for 45,000np. You have still used up the same number of plot points to get your Visor, but this way you also have an extra 15,000np in your bank account! Why would you do it any other way?

Example - I really want a Resistance Battle Visor but I only have 8,000 plot points.
You can probably still afford to get the Visor with your plot points! Spend your 8,000 plot points on items with higher Return Ratios than the Visor (eg books and toys). Sell those items, then use the profits to buy your Visor. If you are smart about it you should be able to get the Visor and maybe even have some neopoints left over.

I am currently in the process of updating with basic recommendations but won't look at prices until they are a bit more stable...

Last Price Update: N/A.
The prices listed are the cheapest on SSW/TP at time of searching.

ITEM: COST: VALUE: RETURN RATIO: Sweep Recommends:

Vintage Haunted Woods Altador Cup Team Jersey
Type: Clothes
(Wearable)
400 points ~5,000 NP and falling Ratio: ~12.5 Re-released for the third year running... If you want one, find something with higher ratios to spend your plot points on and buy this with NP instead.

Vintage Darigan Altador Cup Jersey
Type: Clothes
(Wearable)
400 points ~9,000 NP and fairly stable Ratio: ~22.5 Re-released for the third year running... If you want one, find something with higher ratios to spend your plot points on and buy this with NP instead.

A Fans Guide to the Altador Cup
Type: Book
400 points ~13,000 NP and falling Ratio:
~32.5
Books are good investments, but this one is cheap enough that you might be better off with other items... compare prices before deciding whether to spend plot points or NP.

Vintage Roo Island Altador Cup Jersey
Type: Clothes
(Wearable)
500 points ~10,000 NP and fairly steady Ratio:
~20
Re-released for the second year... as with the other re-released jerseys, not worth spending plot points on, buy it with NP instead.

Ixi Commentator Plushie
Type: Plushie
500 points ~18,000 NP and falling Ratio:
~36
As with other plushies, wait for prices to stabilise and buy this with NP - your plot points will be better spent on other items.

Vintage Krawk Island Alt Cup Jersey
Type: Clothes
(Wearable)
600 points 20,000 NP and falling Ratio:
~33
As the only new jersey this year, this will definitely be popular. But that also means lots of people will redeem for it. Wait for prices to fall, I think you'll probably be better off buying this with NP than your plot points.

Mirsha Grelinek Plushie
Type: Toy
1,000 points 17,000 NP
and falling
Ratio:
~17
Although plushies are popular, you can get better value for your plot points with other items. If you want one, buy it with NP.

Dasher Soley Action Figure
Type: Toy
2,000 points 60,000 NP
and falling
Ratio:
~30
Action figures are collectors items but not very popular. Check prices before you decide, but probably give this a miss. If you want one, buy with NP.

Altador Cup V Commemorative Stamp
Type: Stamp
5,000 points ~350k NP and falling Ratio:
~70
This is going to be popular now, and a good long term investment. But a lot of people are going to redeem for it too, since it's easily affordable... only time will tell if this is a better investment than other items.

Altador Cup Collectors Jacket
Type: Clothes
(Wearable)
10,000 points ~700k NP and falling Ratio:
~70
Wearables are popular, I predict this jacket will be too... if it were me, I'd wait for prices to stabilise before comparing this with other popular items. I think the wig will end up selling for slightly more than this jacket though...

Slushie Slinger Waitress Wig
Type: Clothes
(Wearable)
10,000 points ~700k NP and falling Ratio:
~70
Wearables are popular, I predict this wig will be too... if it were me, I'd wait for prices to stabilise before comparing this with other popular items.

Mutant Yooyu Plushie
Type: Plushie
15,000 points ~1mil NP and falling Ratio:
~67
Plushies have a niche market among collectors, but to be honest I think that you'd be better off spending points on wearables/books/stamps.

Team Krawk Island: Journey to the Top
Type: Book
20,000 points ~### NP Ratio:
~##
Books always make good investments, especially when you needed to make All-Star (or close to it) to afford this one. Wait for prices to stabilise before choosing between this and other popular items.

Snow Yooyu
Type: Petpet
30,000 points ~### NP Ratio:
~##
Only the bitter people who made All-Star but can't afford the Pirate PB will have points for this. For that reason I'm predicting it will be worth more than other coloured Yooyus, but until prices stabilise you might want to look at the lower-priced items as alternatives.

Pirate Paint Brush
Type: Petpet
40,000 points ~11.5mil NP Ratio:
~287
If you can afford this why are you even hesitating? By far the most valuable prize, and many people can't afford it with their points. No contest...

Return of Sloth Plot

Return of Sloth Plot

Last update: 6th July 2009. Prices listed are cheapest on SSW/TP.

Over a year has passed since the ROS plot ended.
I have updated my previous recommendations to reflect the current market...

* Ylanas Blaster is STILL by far the best value for your plot points.
Buy as many as you can with your plot points and if you don't want to keep them then sell them. You will make a much bigger profit from this item than any other.
* Wearables are now definitely great value for your plot points, and will probably inflate with time. In the past it was better to use your plot points for other items, and use the NP earned from selling to buy your wearables. If you still have plot points left, wearables will make a good investment.
* Books are still pretty good value, and will inflate with time. If you don't have enough points for the wearables, the cheaper books are a good investment - if you don't need the neopoints right now, stick them in your SDB and sell them later.
* It's probably best to avoid toys and other items. Any items destined for galleries (grooming items, toys, etc) have a limited market and will not inflate quickly - in fact, the price on many of these has dropped with time.
* If you are patient, sell junk! The very low-end prizes are suprisingly good value, as people going for the SDB Packrat avatar love to buy cheap items. If you are patient, sell a couple of Leftover Scrap Metal or Series of Tubes at a time - it will take a long time to use up your plot points that way, but will bring good returns.
* DO NOT REDEEM FOR A BUZZLER! I cannot stress that enough! The Buzzler petpet is NOT exclusive to this plot, so there is no point wasting your plot points on one.
* The Robot Zappermajig is basically a Robot Paintbrush that can't be sold. The value of this item depends primarily on how much you personally want a Robot coloured pet. However, with the increasing popularity of pet trading, some people are very keen for custom-made Robot pets - if you are a pet trader then this might be a good item for you, but weigh your options before you redeem.
