About Sweep's Plot Prize Guides

These plot prize guides have been compiled so that you can have a quick and easy comparison between the NP values of various plot prizes. Hopefully this will help you to maximise the value you get for your plot points. If you are careful with how you spend your plot points, it should be very easy to make a neopoint profit and get all the items you want as well :)

How do I use this guide?
The best way to use this guide is to compare the Return Ratios of prizes in your price range, and try to work out what combination of prizes will maximise the value you get from your plot points. See the examples below...

What is a "Return Ratio" and why does it matter?
The "Return Ratio" is the neopoints value of the item divided by the plot points value. For example, Leftover Scrap Metal (from the Return of Sloth Plot) costs 5 plot points, and sells for approximately 50np: 50np/5pts gives a ratio of 10.
Items with a higher Return Ratio are better value for your plot points.

Shouldn't I just redeem for the prizes I want?
If you want to do that, then yes. But that is not necessarily the smartest way to spend your plot points. Let's look at some examples from the Return of Sloth plot - please note that these specific examples may not be relevant if the NP price of the items has changed:

Example - I want a Resistance Battle Visor for my pet. I have 10,000 plot points.
Option 1 - Spend your 10,000 plot points to get the Visor, and keep it for your pet.
Option 2 - Spend your 10,000 plot points on other items with higher Return Ratios than the Visor (eg books and toys), sell them, then use the NP you earn to buy the Visor. Let's say you spend your 10,000 plot points on a combination of items that you sell for a total of 60,000np. You then buy a Resistance Battle Visor for 45,000np. You have still used up the same number of plot points to get your Visor, but this way you also have an extra 15,000np in your bank account! Why would you do it any other way?

Example - I really want a Resistance Battle Visor but I only have 8,000 plot points.
You can probably still afford to get the Visor with your plot points! Spend your 8,000 plot points on items with higher Return Ratios than the Visor (eg books and toys). Sell those items, then use the profits to buy your Visor. If you are smart about it you should be able to get the Visor and maybe even have some neopoints left over.

UPDATE: Everyone should have their points by now.
Prices are now fairly stable - if you're looking to sell items you might as well start now; if you're looking to buy items, take your time to hunt for bargains.
The NP items that were awarded from the NC Challenge are also listed at the end of the table, in case people are interested in those...

Last Price Update: 4th August 2009, 7am NST.
The prices listed are the cheapest on SSW/TP at time of searching.

ITEM: COST: VALUE: RETURN RATIO: Sweep Recommends:

Altador Cup Souvenir Towel
Type: Gift
25 points 150 NP and falling Ratio: ~6 A useless collectable. Wait for prices to fall and buy it with your NP, unless you're looking to use up leftover plot points and can't afford other items

Lime Berry (Team) Altador Cup Slushie
Type: Slushie
30 points 300-800 NP for most;
Kiko Lake 1000+ NP
Ratio:
~10-27
These have been re-released from AC3 - only the Kiko Lake slushie is new. For this reason, other items will be better value for your plot points... if you want slushies, you will probably better off buying them from other users with NP.

Altador Cup Sundae
Type: Food
40 points ~700 NP and steady Ratio: ~17 Mainly just a collectable, but at least it's a food item... Wait for the price to fall and you will almost certainly be better off buying this with NP than spending your plot points.

Partially Inflated Yooyu Beach Ball
Type: Toy
(Wearable)
50 points ~1100 NP and steady Ratio: ~22 Thankyou stinkysockss for pointing out that this is wearable! This is one of the better items to use your plot points on, especially if you don't have many points left. But if you can afford other items with higher ratios, buy this with NP instead.

Ultimate Yooyu Pen
Type: School
70 points ~450 NP and steady Ratio: ~8 A collectable item but not much else... probably not worth investing in long-term. Whether you should spend plot points or NP on this item depends whether you can find something in your price range with a better ratio.

Altador Cup Stationary Set
Type: School
75 points ~600 NP and beginning to steady Ratio: ~8 Another collectable item... probably not worth investing in long-term. Whether you should spend plot points or NP on this item depends whether you can find something in your price range with a better ratio.

AC IV (Team) Team Poster
Type: Furniture
100 points 3000-5000 NP and starting to stabilise Ratio: 30-50 TNT has fixed the item names, so you should have no more problems pricing/searching for these, yay!
I won't be surprised if TNT release these as prizes again next year. Having said that though, the prices right now give really good returns, definitely worth spending your plot points on. Compare prices of different teams for biggest profits.

Yooyu Kite
Type: Toy
(Wearable)
200 points ~4600 NP and stable Ratio: ~23 Wearable, so it will be a popular item. It's good value for your plot points, but if you want to push for maximum profits then you will probably be buying this with NP. If it isn't re-released next year it might be a reasonable investment, but it's also quite common so prices will take a while to go up.

Y11 Illustrated Altador Cup Program
Type: Book
200 points ~14000 NP and rising Ratio: ~70 Books are usually a reasonable long-term investment and typically give a good return even if you sell right now. This is definitely an item worth spending your plot points on.

Reusable Altador Cup Grocery Bag
Type: Gift
(Wearable)
300 points ~7800 NP and fairly stable Ratio: ~26 Wearable, so it will be a popular item. It's good value for your plot points, but if you want to push for maximum profits then you will probably be buying this with NP. If it isn't re-released next year it might be a reasonable investment, but it's also quite common so prices will take a while to go up.

Yooyuball Goal Net Shield
Type: Defence Magic
400 points ~19000 NP and rising Ratio: ~38 This is an interesting situational battledome weapon... even if you aren't a BDer, it might be worth having one tucked away in your SDB as it may come in handy for certain 1p or plot-based battles. The ratio is high enough that it's probably worth spending your plot points to get one.

Jelly Chia Goalie Plushie
Type: Plushie
400 points ~6800 NP and steady Ratio: ~17 Lots of people like to collect plushies, but not enough to make this good value right now (and it's probably not the best investment item either). Spend your plot points on other items and buy this with NP.

Vintage Haunted Woods Altador Cup Team Jersey
Type: Clothes
(Wearable)
400 points ~4800 NP and falling Ratio: ~12 Another re-released prize from last year... you were smart if you already sold the ones you had stashed in your SDB :P If you want one, find something with higher ratios to spend your plot points on and buy this with NP instead.

Techo Fanatic Throat Drops
Type: Medical Cures
500 points ~4500 NP and falling Ratio: ~9 Really nothing more than a collecatble item... spend your plot points elsewhere and buy these with NP if you want them.

Vintage Darigan Altador Cup Jersey
Type: Clothes
(Wearable)
500 points ~6000 NP price stable Ratio: ~12 Another re-released prize from last year... you were smart if you already sold the ones you had stashed in your SDB :P If you want one, find something with higher ratios to spend your plot points on and buy this with NP instead.

Vintage Roo Island Altador Cup Jersey
Type: Clothes
(Wearable)
600 points ~8000 NP and fairly steady Ratio: ~13 A lot of people are going to redeem for these and try to sell them. You're better off redeeming for cheaper wearables (or other items) and buying this with NP. If you decide to invest in jerseys, make sure you sell them before the next Altador Cup - they are likely to be re-released again in future years.

Lilo Blumario Action Figure
Type: Toy??
2000 points ~9200 NP and falling slightly Ratio: ~4.5 Action figures have little appeal beyond collectors... probably not worth investing in long-term. Spend your points on other items and buy this with NP.

Yellow/Red/ Blue/Green Yooyu
Type: Petpet
10000 points ~450k+ NP and fairly stable Ratio:
~45+
Quite frankly I think the colours are somewhat ugly (and many others I have spoken to agree). I don't think these will be as popular as previous Yooyu colours. If you want one to keep, use your plot points - but if you have enough points for the Drinking Cap consider redeeming for that instead. If you are getting a Yooyu to sell, check the prices before you decide which colour to get... prices are currently low because people are in a hurry to sell, but they will eventually rise again

Oranella Slushie Slinger Drinking Cap
Type: Clothes??
(Wearable)
15000 points ~500k+ NP and reasonably stable Ratio: ~33+ Top-end prize, and it's wearable. Need I say more? If you earned enough points for this I'm guessing it will be worth spending plot points on, whether you want to sell or keep. Then again, the Yooyus might be better... make sure you compare ratios.

Cloud Paint Brush
Type: Special
25000 points ~55000 NP and falling o_O Ratio: 3.3 For Fyora's sake, DO NOT REDEEM POINTS FOR THIS PAINTBRUSH!
It has been given out by KeyQuest and Tarla and isn't even that popular of a colour... if you can afford 25000pts go buy yourself the Drinking Cap or some Yooyus :P

Altador Cup This Way Sign
Type: Gardening
NC Challenge Prize 20,000 NP and falling N/A This was a bonus prize in the NC Challenge, but is a NP item. It can no longer be won so if you want it, buy it now before the price rises further. Thankfully prices are falling now that there is less interest in AC items...

Altador Cup Nail Varnish Set
Type: Grooming
NC Challenge Prize 10,000 NP and falling N/A This was a bonus prize in the NC Challenge, but is a NP item. It can no longer be won so if you want it, buy it now before the price rises further. Thankfully prices are falling now that there is less interest in AC items...

Yooyu Marble Set
Type: Toy
(Wearable)
NC Challenge Prize 95,000 NP N/A This was a bonus prize in the NC Challenge, but is a NP item. It can no longer be won so if you want it, buy it now before the price rises further. I'm kicking myself for not buying some of these when they were under 10k. Thankfully prices are falling now that there is less interest in AC items...

Altador Cup Yooyuball Net Background
Type: Background
NC Challenge Prize ~150k+ NP and finally steady-ish N/A This was part of the NC Challenge final prize, but is a NP item. If you didn't do the NC Challenge and want this item, you will have to buy it... occasionally you will see some on the shop wiz if you are lucky.

Return of Sloth Plot

Return of Sloth Plot

Last update: 6th July 2009. Prices listed are cheapest on SSW/TP.

Over a year has passed since the ROS plot ended.
I have updated my previous recommendations to reflect the current market...

* Ylanas Blaster is STILL by far the best value for your plot points.
Buy as many as you can with your plot points and if you don't want to keep them then sell them. You will make a much bigger profit from this item than any other.
* Wearables are now definitely great value for your plot points, and will probably inflate with time. In the past it was better to use your plot points for other items, and use the NP earned from selling to buy your wearables. If you still have plot points left, wearables will make a good investment.
* Books are still pretty good value, and will inflate with time. If you don't have enough points for the wearables, the cheaper books are a good investment - if you don't need the neopoints right now, stick them in your SDB and sell them later.
* It's probably best to avoid toys and other items. Any items destined for galleries (grooming items, toys, etc) have a limited market and will not inflate quickly - in fact, the price on many of these has dropped with time.
* If you are patient, sell junk! The very low-end prizes are suprisingly good value, as people going for the SDB Packrat avatar love to buy cheap items. If you are patient, sell a couple of Leftover Scrap Metal or Series of Tubes at a time - it will take a long time to use up your plot points that way, but will bring good returns.
* DO NOT REDEEM FOR A BUZZLER! I cannot stress that enough! The Buzzler petpet is NOT exclusive to this plot, so there is no point wasting your plot points on one.
* The Robot Zappermajig is basically a Robot Paintbrush that can't be sold. The value of this item depends primarily on how much you personally want a Robot coloured pet. However, with the increasing popularity of pet trading, some people are very keen for custom-made Robot pets - if you are a pet trader then this might be a good item for you, but weigh your options before you redeem.
