Welcome

We are trying to provide a service for unwanted Neopets and for Neopet owners by telling people about unwanted pets that they may be able to adopt and care for. We know that not all pet owners want their pets to go to just anybody, so here they can tell about their pets in hope that nice, good people who come here might want them. We hope you find what you are looking for here. Also, please link back to us, we have banners!

Closing Soon
I will soon be taking a hiatus (or at least getting on Neopets a lot less) and will not be able to manage Dragon Adoptions. This closure might or might not be permanent, but that is undecided right now. I am planning to close the agency on November 30, 2009, and until then, I will try my best to help all pets currently listed find new owners. Because we are closing, I will not be listing any new pets, but I can still affiliate with others, so if you would like me to link to your agency or foster page, that's still an option, as I often encourage people to visit our affiliates if they cannot find a pet they like among our listings. If you are already listing a pet or pets with us, I'll try my best to help you find a home for your pet before we close, but I obviously cannot guarantee it.

Featured Pet Information

To the left is our Featured Pet of the Week section. Each week, we randomly select one of the pets listed in our center and list them here in hopes of having more people be interested in adopting the pet. While the pet is chosen completely randomly (I even use a random number generator), if it doesn't meet two requirements, it won't be placed here.

  1. The owner of the pet has to have logged in within the past two weeks.
  2. The pet can't have been the featured pet recently.

Adopt a Pet

  1. Please make sure that you neomail the correct person when applying for a pet. Do not neomail the staff about adopting a pet unless the pet belongs to that staff member. A link to neomail the owner is included under each pet.

  2. When adopting a pet, follow the rules that the pet's owner has and be kind. If you're rude, that won't get you anywhere.
  3. A pet's owner has the right to refuse your request of adopting a pet--especially if you don't meet the owner's requirements. Do not pester the pet's owner about adopting the pet after they have said 'No.' It is their decision! Also, unless you think the pet's owner is being really unfair, do not contact Dragon Adoptions staff about it.
  4. Please do not put a pet in the pound or put a pet up for adoption just so you can adopt another pet! This is usually considered cruel, and most people won't like it if you do this.
  5. I highly recommend that you read this FAQ to learn about the pound so that you will know how the process of transferring a pet to you will be done.

We have a right to change/add/remove any rule at any time (you might want to check back here occasionally).

To adopt a pet, look at the requirements located in the pet's information below it's picture. If you want to adopt the pet, you must fulfill those requirements (including any listed on a rules page).
Note: Clicking on the pet's picture will take you to its pet look-up.

If your account is under 4 months, you cannot adopt limited edition pets (Chomby, Draik, Krawk, Hissi, Cybunny, Tonu, Jetsam, Kiko, Koi, or Poogle), most painted pets (pets that are not red, blue, green, or yellow), and any pet level 3 or higher. To see what painted pets you can adopt go here:

List a Pet

  1. We will list any pet that is up for adoption only; we will not list pets you are going to put in the pound or pets that are up for trade.
  2. Please notify us if you find a new owner, if you decide to keep your pet, or if you just pound your pet. That way, we can take them out of our listings. It really helps us keep Dragon Adoptions updated. Here is a quick form to fill out to remove your pet.
  3. Please state that the pet is up for adoption on his/her pet lookup. I may make exceptions (such as if the account the pet on is "under 13," but you have to tell me that).
  4. Please make sure that you follow Neopets' rules with your adoption requirements (we will try to inform you if you aren't).
  5. If you list a pet(s) here, you can remove them at any if you choose to do so. Here is a quick form to fill out to remove your pet.
  6. Any pet whose owner has not been online for 60 days (about two months) or longer will be removed from the adoption center. This only applies to the account that the owner wants to receive applications on.
  7. If you list a pet here, please add one of our banners on your lookup, rules page, or pet lookup. You don't have to, but it is appreciated.
  8. I highly recommend that you read this FAQ to learn about the pound so that you will know how to transfer pets to their new owners.

PLEASE NOTE:
    In the form above, these are some things that you may have questions about and an explanation to tell you what they mean.
  • Your Contact Account, is the account people should neomail you on if they wish to adopt your pet (should be one you log onto on often).
  • For Lab Pet?, just say "Yes" or "No" to tell me whether or not you are currently zapping this pet with the Lab Ray.
  • For Adoption Requirements/Rules Page, you should tell me any rules you have for your pet. If you have a long list, you should put them on a rules page (usually on a pet's lookup or petpage) and give me the link to the page.
  • For Extra, you can add any extra information that you want applicants to know. (i.e. If an attached petpet comes with the pet, whether you are likely to change your mind about having the pet up for adoption, that you'd be angry if they ever tried to trade the pet, or anything else like that you want people to know)

Adopted Out

5-03-09 Some glitch with the pets images that made them look like gears (click here for example) happened, and all my images in this section died. Since I don't have the time or patience to needlessly fix all of them, I cleared all the old images. For anybody who cares, there were 200.

Become an Affiliate

Want to become affiliates with Dragon Adoptions? Neomail _waterdragon and tell her the page location (address/URL/link--whichever you want to call it) and the page's name. Please only pages that have something to do with adoptions or helping Neopets users (such as guides). If we link to you, you have to link back to us (exceptions may be made if I choose to link to a page that doesn't accept affiliates).

When I advertise the center, I also post links to all adoption agencies and pages of foster parents that we are affiliated with. That way, we help even more pets with one topic on the Neoboards!
