Slider = Thin grey bar that you aim with
Target = Green area
Center of Target = Thin White line
(See diagram below for illustration)
Scoring works like this:
Time remaining + Bonus + How close the slider is to the center of the target.
If you miss the target on the first 2 levels the score is between approximately 88 (slider very far from the target) and 150 (slider very close to the target) + time remaining.
Note: If you are on level 3 (Emperor's Grand Hall) the slider can be much further away from the target when you miss than the first 2 levels. The minimum score on level 3 is approximately 25 (slider opposite end to the target) + Time remaining on the clock.
If you hit the green of the target the score will be between 151 (slider very close to missing) and 160 (slider very close to a white area) + time remaining on the clock.
If you get a perfect hit your score will be between approximately 161 (slider close to not getting a perfect hit) to 165 (slider dead center of target) + 20 point bonus + time remaining on the clock.
The score is the same regardless of which level you are on so if you just want 1000np it is easier to start from the beginning

This would score around 90 + Time remaining

Bonuses are awarded whenever you acheive three perfect hits ("Reflexes of a biyako") they do not have to be in a row. You get the bonus on the continue screen after your 3rd perfect hit. When you want to use the bonus you have to click on it (bottom right corner of game screen).
Note: You can only store 1 bonus at a time, if you collect two bonuses you must choose 1 to discard
(Thanks caminando for adding this)
I wasn't going to put these here since they are available on the game instructions...
However...you can't view the instructions if you are in the middle of a game so here is a screenshot of the instructions page on bonuses...I don't think it needs any further explanation.
the same as an already existing "black belt"
which is a non-wearable battledome item unrelated to the game. For the second level (Imperial Guard Dojo) it is best to either chop the block in the first 2 seconds or wait a bit. A moffit jumps across the block from 27 seconds until 24. Again from 17-14, and from 7-4. When the moffit is on the block you are unable to take a shot and the message "Don't hit the moffit!" pops up if you hit spacebar. Don't worry you don't get game over if you try and hit the petpetpet.
(thanks pyong_foxcat23 for this strategy)
For the last level (Emperor's Grand Hall) the target moves as well as the slider. You are more likely to hit the target if you wait until the target is at the top or the bottom. This is for two reasons. Firstly the target effectively becomes twice as big (see screenshot) since the slider goes past it twice in quick succession. Secondly the target is closer to being still since it is changing directions.
