You've seen it before - boards on the Pound Chat, and occasionally the Help Chat, desperately begging for answers: "IS MY PET WN/DN/BN?" "What can I get for my active?" "WILL DO ANYTHING FOR A DRAIK!!"
Many people use their pets as
status symbols and
bargaining chips. These people do not stop to consider the feelings of those who are looking for a virtual companion. Some of us want to give some abandoned pet a forever home, regardless of underscores in their names, basic or unpopular colours, or their lack of a Limited Edition status.
I was recently informed that my pets
weren't worth anything because they had underscores in their names, and most weren't painted expensive-to-obtain colours. I took this personally; they may be simply made of pixels, but they represent companionship and responsibility. They are
my pets, and no one has a right to tell
me what they are worth.
That's why I created Relief and Renewal Adoptions. I want to give pets a chance to find homes where they will be loved, appreciated, and respected. I also want to create opportunities for people to find dream pets. I want to help make happy Neo-families!
One day, I hope to have other Neopians working with me, whether as affiliates in their own agencies, labbing pets for me, or just fostering them. For the present, however, it's just me!
Below, you will find:
First and foremost I want to point out that I do not do pet trades, period. That entirely misses the point of this agency. I want to find homes for pets, and I don't want you to give up a pet to make a home for another. That's just silly.
I do not attach petpets to the pets I adopt out; I only include one if they came already attached from the pound. I also do not include backgrounds or any other forms of customization, unless they gain clothes from a colour zap.
I do not accept any kind of payment for pets. That means no items or neopoints. This applies to before, during, and after the application process. If you send me an item under the pretense of a "random gift", then apply for a pet, it will significantly decrease your chances of receiving said pet. As for during and afterward, anything that could be construed by TNT as trading a pet for an item or a pet for NP could result as both the applicant and ME being frozen - so be careful. No point in you adopting a pet just to get frozen a day later.
As for what I DO actually do; I adopt pets from the pound, regardless of their name, colour, stats, or species. Then I put them on this page. While they're up here, I zap one a day, in hopes of turning them into someone's dream!
Note: If you want a pet that is currently being zapped, send me a quick note before you write up an application, and I will stop zapping.
- All applications should be sent to rings_of_the_lord.
- All applications should be titled with the name of the pet you are interested in.
- The account where this pet will live MUST be more than four months old.
- All of your pets, on ALL of your sides, must be happy and well-fed.
- Do NOT adopt a pet from me then trade it away.
- Do NOT pester me about your application. After you've sent it to me, give me some space - if I need to know more, I will ask you.
- I would prefer that you do not repaint the pet after I send it to you, and definitely do not zap it, but if you feel you must do so, please indicate your reasoning in your application.
- This list of rules may be subject to change, so make sure you've read it thoroughly, and more than once, right before you send in your application.
Some other things you may want to keep in mind:
- Be honest with me. If I find out that you've lied to me about something, your chances of getting the pet you want plummet.
- Never refer to the pet as an "it". Only refer to a pet by its gender.
- I cannot stress this point enough: BE LITERATE. Spelling and grammar are important to me. If I can't understand what you're trying to say, or if it's not apparent to me that you're not making at least an effort to look good, I can't trust you with a pet.
- If there's anything you think I should know, and I haven't asked you for it, please don't be afraid to tell me!
- Also, if you have questions about what's expected of you, please don't be afraid to message me about it. I'm really quite friendly. =D
Your application can be sent in the form of a neomail app., or a link to a petpage.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE A PETPAGE APP IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO. Neither one will improve your chances of getting a pet over the other, but I understand that sometimes you need a little more room to say what you need to say. So do whichever is most comfortable for you.
The following things need to be included in your application:
- The username of your main account and all of your side accounts.
- Have you had any warnings/suspensions, or had any accounts frozen before? Why?
- A brief description of your family of pets, and how this pet will fit into said family.

Why should I choose you to adopt this pet?
Other things you may want to include:
- A little bit about yourself.
- Do you have any fun plans for your pet? Beauty Contest? Customization Spotlight? Please share!
- Also, plans for a special petpet, roleplaying, or guild events are all things you can include to show me that you've put some forethought into this.
- Again, feel free to include anything that you think may convince me to pick you.
- If you have a backstory or personality in mind for this pet, please include that as well.
Entirely optional: If you want to draw a picture of the pet, or anything like that, and include it in your application, that's totally cool. It won't really increase your chances, as I will attempt to judge each application on its own merit, rather than how it compares to other apps received. So that's not at all required, but is a nice touch.
