Hello Monster, and welcome to my application for Very_Cheeky39 the Maraquan Scorchio. A quick note about this application is that I will be referring to Very_Cheeky39 as Anguille for the rest of the time. :)

I'd just like to make a quick update! I recently thought up a new character for Anguille (In which his name would be "V") , and because it's so close to the deadline as of writing this, I'm not able to write up the full story. I'd just like to let you know that if I were chosen to be Anguille's new owner, he may have this other character I've thought up. This other character can be found later on in the app (Or here if you don't wish to scroll).

... But in case I decide to keep the character idea I'd originally planned on having, here's the story and character you could expect!

You know who those people are. They're those people that can always seem to get you to laugh no matter what the situation offers itself. Nature's natural comedians. Even when you're feeling down, they can lift you back on your feet just by sharing a good laugh or two. Without them, it seems, the world would be a gloomy place with little smiles and happiness. Yes, they seem insignificant, but try to imagine life without them.

... Although, the pressure of such an important role in humanity can be a stress on these pranksters. They have to find new material daily, and that material has to be just right. Their joke can't be too old school, or not that funny. They can't afford telling a joke wrong, or offending somebody or something in the process. While, at first, none of these problems are noticeable, in time they start to show up. The funniest person in your town is now an awkward person nobody likes to talk to. That one kid who could always make you smile is now the kid you look down upon, as one joke he once told was quite rude. Reputations are hard to gain, but they're as thin as paper when it comes to breaking them.

As a result of this constant pressure to remain on top, the victims of this comedic act are forced to go outside his or her comfort zone, and maybe lose their wants and needs in the process. More often then not it leads to cruelty, sickness (As in the one where people are disgusted by your behavior) , insanity, and possibly death. Not always death physically, but sometimes death mentally or emotionally. This game, as others call it, twists your life to a point of no return, and destroys you in the process. The worst part is that everyone is always watching, always watching. They know you're suffering, and they do nothing. And if you do nothing, you're ridiculed for it.

A cruel way to live a life, but it happens quite often. This is the story of a creature who has suffered such a fate.

Monsieur Anguille du Bonheur has a name that translates to "Eel of Happiness" (According to Poogle Translator, that is) , which is exactly what Anguille's goal was all along. Ever since a young age, he has lived to make others happy, and to get even the grumpiest people to smile and laugh. Even after he was growing older, learning more, he still aims to make his world of Maraqua happy. Overtime, his comedic acts gained popularity, and with it, sickness and cruelty. His once harmless knock-knock jokes became long and twisted stories that ended in hilarious pain and suffering. He was still happy, and he still tried to make others seem the same way, but eventually his audience diminished into nothing.
His total fanbase was at 0 about three days before his death.

Note: Anguille's story may not use the best grammar all the time, and that's because he's a patient slowly losing his memory (Poor Anguille!) . I'm usually very literate; this isn't me slacking off or anything. Just a note :)

Day Fifty ❝I cant think straight. Any thoughts I may have end up flying away in... wait, what was i talking about again? Oh right. Any thoughts i have fly away as quickly as they come. Im surprised i can... remember what im saying. My memory has been very flashy for the past... wait how do i use numbers again? Wait what are numbers? Ugh this type of thing makes me... mad. Ive been in this room... if this is called a room that is... for a while.

❝This is my fifty day in this state. Im not sure how long ive... been here but i know i was here yesterday. And i think the day before that too. The doctors come by and say im getting better everyday but i dont believe them. If they were telling truth my head would feel better. I think theyre lying to me which is mean. I can... handle the truth.

❝I dont know why im here. I cant remember coming here but then again i dont remember lots of things. I wish i knew why i was here then i wouldnt be asking so much questions. But nobody... comes around and talks to me and tells me why im here. My mom came once but she was not happy with me she was sad. She didnt talk she just watched me and then left. My friends... wait im not sure who my friends are. Im not sure if i have friends. Oh now im getting really sad... i would cry if i knew how to...❞

Plans for the Comedian

For Anguille's customization, I chose a simple underwater look. Here, Anguille is playing in the seas of Maraqua he calls home; something he did in his youth that he wish he could re-live. I own both items featured, so there'd be no threat of me not acquiring these items.

Speaking of customization... I'm not a person who customizes their pets every 2 days with something new. I usually keep all my pets in one simple customization for their entire Neo-lives, unless I decide to dress them up to support the Altador Cup (Go Moltara!) , or unless a super awesome item that would fit my pet's customization comes out. Long story short... this would be Anguille's year-round outfit, what I have displayed.

Anguille's character is (And will continue to be) based off of a Moray Eel. He is a natural comedian and prankster that doesn't know his limits and pays the price for that weakness. Unless the future brings me an even better character idea for Anguille, he'll stay in his sad mental state.

I don't think Anguille will have a petpet. I can't imagine fitting a pet into his story anywhere, and as Anguille is now hated by everyone, a petpet wouldn't love him enough to be a true pet.

I'll probably enter Anguille in the Beauty Contest. I'm not a huge fan of the "The person who wins is the person who advertises the most" concept, but if it earns Anguille a pretty trophy on his lookup, then I'm all up for it. I'll probably enter his profile picture as his first picture (The one by his stats) , or maybe a different one if I get around to thinking of a new pose for him.

I'll train Anguille in the Battledome. It has nothing to do with his character or anything; I just tend to train all my pets for the Battledome, that's all. I'm not too extreme when it comes to training, but I usually tend to train each pet 2-3 times a week. This would be the same for Anguille.

Anguille will stay on my main. I know people who work for 3 months straight on a pet application, only to throw the pet on a side and forget about them. I promise to never do this to Anguille, and that's mainly because my pets on my main get the most attention from me.

Why do I want Anguille?

I want Anguille because he's just so unique.

Honestly, the name of a neopet can be anything; just as long as it can be inspiring to me in anyway. The only reason I thought up of Anguille's current character is because of his name given to him! (Very Cheeky... comedian... They coincide I guess) The name was just so nice to use for coming up with a character, so that's one reason.

A second reason is because he's an Unconverted Maraquan. Alright, I'm not going to be one of those people who say "I would apply for so and so even if he/she was a converted green uni!" ; Honestly, that's the reason Anguille stood out to me on the Up for Adoption page I saw him on. Because he was Unconverted and Maraquan, that is. Now, if you were to go to my userlookup, you would notice that each one of my pets have a Maraquan-like theme to them. I've been searching for one last Neopet to fill the empty gap, and a maraquan was idealy what I was looking for. Now, through Anguille, I've found him.

... But why Anguille, and not some other Unconverted Maraquan, you may ask? Well, Anguille's story can easily be intertwined in with my other Neopet's personalities and themes. My main goal when creating my Neopet's stories was to have basically one huge, massive story with different points of view from my different pets that all comes together as 1 story in the end. A plot with a corrupted Joker could very easily fit into those of my other neopets (With some being the family, others being victims, best friends, detectives...) , and it completes my final Neogoal, and allow me to have a long and happy life on Neo.

I want Anguille because he's perfect. Because he finalizes everything I have worked for on Neopets to this point. I want Anguille because he brings the story to my Neofamily.

Why choose Niku?

You should chose me to be Anguille's new owner because I will care about him.

For the longest time, I never had a pet. To comfort this loneliness, I would play on websites with Virtual Pets (That's part of the reason I came to Neopets in the first place) . I would end up feeding my pets, grooming them as well, playing games with them, and making sure they are always as happy as they can be.

Although this has since changed (I now have 2 fish, which counts for pets in my mind) , my feelings have not changed about my Neopets. I will still take the time to make sure they are happy, doing well, are not sick from something, and are well fed. I have also grown attached to these pixelated Neopets, and I love them like I would love a real pet.

Sure, they may be pixels, but those pixels will always be there, smiling back at me, even on my roughest days. They can't run away, they can't pass away, they can't bite your hand if you get too close. They're extra support. I love all my Neopets, and this would most definitely be the same with Anguille. He would never be traded away, nor would I ever neglect him enough that he would grow sad, even though his features don't show it. He would be one of my pets, and therefore, he would be cared for.

About the Applicant

Hello! My name is Niku, my main account is frogfrog109 and I am in my teen-years. On Neopets, I run an Altador Cup Chat group named GEARS. Gears supports Team Moltara in the Altador Cup, and we can be found on the Altador Cup boards. Gears is most of what I do on Neopets, and it's the main reason I never will try to leave Neopets (Unless school becomes that tough...) . On my side accounts (nikuphilia and tigerstar), I am also a council member in a Guild called Underwater Spirits, which is a guild dedicated to Maraqua and Team Maraqua. On Tigerstar, I roleplay Warriors in another guild called Fading Pawsteps. I also write articles for 2 Altador Cup-themed Websites. I like to train my pets in the Battledome, play Habitarium, and mostly, live on Neopets during the Altador Cup.

In the bizarre fantasy known as the real world, I am a teenager who loves tennis, badminton, volleyball, and basically anything that involves a court and a net. I like to draw pictures using colored pencils and programs like GIMP or Photoshop, and I love to code webpages and design graphics. Others could describe me as a natural-born leader, a comedian (Oh the irony), and a hardcore video gamer. I would also like to one day be an Environmental Scientist. :)

... And that's me in a nutshell. Not much to it, just your average Neopian.

In Conclusion

I would like to thank you so much, Pheonix, for allowing me the chance to apply for a Neopet as awesome as Anguille (Very_Cheeky39) . I wish you the best of luck in choosing his new owner, and I will not be upset if I do not receive him. As long as Anguille is going to the best home possible, I will be happy. :)


I, frogfrog109, coded this page from scratch. There are many Neopets drawings on this Application, and I found the background on a search engine. Other than the coding and story, I do not own anything else on this page.

An alternate Character?

I mentioned earlier that I had the idea for a different character style for Anguille, an because I still haven't worked out the kinks yet, I'm going to give you my basic idea in a Nutshell.

Very_Cheeky39's name is now simply V. V is part of a trio of 3 different spirits: Niku, an alien-like flying cat who protects the atmosphere and the nightsky; Carroma, an incredibly beautiful fish who guards the ocean and all its freshwater counterparts; and V, the ferocious sea serpent who has kinda been left out in all this.

You see, originally, the 3 were supposed to be guarding the waters of the earth together. But then fate landed Niku in space, and manipulated Carroma so she felt she had to protect alone.

V is basically the villian in this story. He was special, and he was born with a great destiny, and it was rejected not by him, but by others. Carroma would have a (very arrogant) point of view, and Niku would have an understanding point of view, while V wants revenge, revenge, revenge. V's companion (Petpet) would be an Arkmite, and together they would basically be plotting their revenge on how to take back their rightful place as rulers of the waters.

How will it end? Only time can tell.

... And this was my alternate character. Still very rough and uneven, but if I were to be Anguille's new owner and I later on feel this design would better suit Anguille, it may be used.
