If you have Windows XP go to Control Panel, Accessibility Options, Mouse and turn on Mouse Keys. If you have Windows Vista go to Control Panel, Ease of Access, Ease of Access Center, "Make the mouse easier to use" and turn on mouse keys. Now you can use the + on the right side of your keyboard to double click. (with just pressing it once)

With laptops you have to switch on Num Lock and press ? to double click. (thanks Tuxedobird! )
