It will have links to the different types of avatars on this page as well as a Sources section and some FAQ's on avatars. Also, if you look in the boxes on the left of each section, you'll find helpful links to different pet pages.
While I created the set up of the page, all the information was pulled either from the Avatar Chat board, my guild members and a couple of other avatar pages. If by chance the newest avatar is not updated here, please check my Guild Home Page as I may have updated there first.

| What are Avatars? |
Avatars are icons that are usually located below your name in the message boards.
You'll also find them next to a user name in received neomails. |
| What are Secret Avatars? |
Secret Avatars are avatars that you need to do something on Neopets in order to get them.
There are many types of Secret Avatars:
- Game Avatars - Need to score points on games
- Random Avatars - Randomly appear while playing Neopets
- Clickies - Get the avatar by clicking on a specific page
- Retired Avatars - Avatars that no longer are available
- Battledome Avatars - Avatars that you battle in the battledome fore
- Item Avatars - Avatars that require items to get
- Annual Avatars - Avatars that are given on specific days each year
- Pet Avatars - Avatars that you need specific pets/petpets/petpetpets to get

| How do I view my Avatars? |
Go to CHAT PREFERENCES
Select the box below the words Choose a new av:.
Scroll through the list.
For your secret avatars scroll past the ----- line and you'll find a list of separate avatars.
These are your "Secret" Avatars |
| What is Avatar Simon? |
Avatar Simon is a game played on the Avatar/Neosignature boards.

Avatar Survivor
Leader posts a topic
Then players must post with an avatar related to that topic
After all players have posted, they vote off the avatar that least fits the category by neomailing the leader

Who Killed the Avatar?
Unfortunately I've never played this game, but here is what I've learned so far
Leader chooses victim and killer
Other players guess who they think the killer is.
Leader gives clues
- Act Like Your Avatar
The best way to learn how to play these games is to read the leader's first post. Usually leaders will explain to you the rules. If not, just sit out and observe the way the board works. |
| Some items are expensive. Can I borrow items? |
Collateral: Neopoints or items that you may offer in trades to borrow an item for a moment. Usually collateral is returned to you when you are done with the item.
There are a lot of people out there who offer to lend items for high priced avatar items.
Nice players will offer to help on occasion.
However, be careful.
There are players out there that will try to get your neopoints by promising something without planning on following through.
An example would be:
If the person offers to "lend" you an item like a Faerie Queen Doll for free/low collateral do not do 2 trades.
They may ask you to do 1 trade of the collateral or an item and then they'll send you the Doll.
Most likely if they ask for the item first, they will NOT be sending the Doll to you.
The same can be applied to if You want to lend an item to someone.
Be careful of how the transaction is set up.
Make sure that the person either offers full collateral or is trustworthy/someone you know
