Welcome

Hello sweet_little_saiyan4 and welcome to my Feed Florg guide.
This guide will help you get started with the Feed Florg game and hopefully help you in getting the avatar.

Now the point of the game is to feed Florg and I hope you're not from the PPL because the only thing Florg likes to eat are petpets.
To get the avatar you will need to get a score of 250+.
Now 250 points may not seem like a lot but you try keeping all 5 lives until you reach 250 points while having 5 petpets crawling over the table and all of them are going in different directions.

^_^; whoops did I scare anyone with that? It can be a tad frustrating but keep your cool and you'll be fine. On to some more explaining about the game.

Feed Florg Game

The screen

I'd like to start out by saying that the size of the screen and the quality are all up to you. At first I preferred playing with a small screen on low quality and later on that changed to a normal sized screen and best quality so I suggest you play with all sizes and quality's a few times to see what works best for you.

Now this screen basically speaks for itself. I suggest turning the sound off considering the fact that the sounds of the game will drive you insane when you're playing for a while. As for the controls...keyboard all the way. But always try out the mouse as well just to see which works best for you! And the instruction screen might be handy to read if you're playing for the first time.

Excuse the poor quality picture but a quick explanation of the screen. The top round thing is the crane/cage thingie that releases the petpets every now and then. Then we have the plate where you need to keep the petpets on until Florg will decide to eat them and then there is the claw you have to control to make sure the petpets stay on the table.

And of course we have Florg who's demanding petpets. The fact that he's crying actually makes me wonder how old he is.

And this is his tongue that will come out of his mouth when he feels like it to grab a petpet.

The petpets

There are 6 different kind of petpets that will be released during the game

Spyders, Kookiths, Tenna's, Slorgs, Warfs and Hasee's
You get 10 points for every petpet that Florg eats these get added to your score immediately while making sure a petpet stays on the table gives you 1 point which is added to the score immediately but also shown when the petpet bumps against the hand/claw

So to make it absolutely clear all petpets give the same amount of points which is 10 points when eaten and 1 point when kept on the table.

One thing I would like to point out about the Kookiths is that unlike the other petpets they move by jumping up and down which can be quite annoying to look at especially when you have three of them on the table. Just thought I'd let you know.

Time to play the game

Click the banner if you haven't opened the game in a different window yet. NOTE: this will open the game in this screen. Right click and select open in a new window to have it open in a new window and still keep this page open.

The game starts out fairly easy and no frustrations are building up inside of you yet. This will start to change around 100 points when Florg either gets slower with eating or the crane becomes faster you pick. The thing with this game is that you can get about 200 points and then go game over because there are to many petpets on the table and you can't keep up.

Whats important to remember that always hit the petpets closes to each other. So let's say you have 3 petpets on the table and two are close to each other and moving at the same pace and one is going the other way always go for the two instead of the one. If you drop a petpet too bad but you have 5 lives so it's better to drop one than two right?

Another thing you need to remember is that you have to stay calm. Don't do anything rash and move around the table like a maniac. Patience is your best friend in this game.

Oh and for those people who are like me and get 240 points and get so happy that they almost have the avatar and stop breathing and stop to pay good attention to the game...try not to do that. It will most definitely be your downfall. Stay calm all through the game and don't get your hopes up too much when you get so close to the 250 points.

Something I like to keep myself to while playing this game is losing one life every 50 points. It's better not to lose any of course but if there is no other way around it do it like that.
0-50 points 5 lives
50-100 points 4 lives
100-150 points 3 lives
150-200 points 2 lives
200-250 points 1 lives

This has helped me out a lot. Another thing you could try to do is reach 100 points with 5 lives which is possible and then use the 1 life every 50 points thing which will insure that you have 2 lives during the 200-250 points which you could really use if you have no luck at all.

So all of it in a nutshell:
1: Always turn off the sound
2: Always hit the petpets that are close to each other
3: Stay calm
4: Keep breathing
5: Keep blinking
6: Try to lose only 1 life every 50 points.
7: PRACTICE

Tips and tricks from other Neopians

If you happen to have any tips or tricks that are not in this guide send me a neomail. And if you have tried out any of these tips or tricks and they helped your out or not please let me know since I am no longer able to play the game (broken keyboard controls).

Tips from twillight_princess: Turn on some of your favorite music. Sometimes the silence can make you more nervous. Going over the top of the plate might be faster.

Note: I'm not sure if twillight_princess is right that going over the top is faster. If anyone would like to test this and let me know I'd appreciate it. To me it doesn't seem much different. As for the music she does bring up a good point! Depending on my mood I may or may not but on some music so see what works best for you at the time that you're playing!

Tip from starrr_18_: Florg will ALWAYS eat the first PetPet you get when you start the game after 2 hits with the claw.

Note: I checked this out and it's true!
