Full Page Guild Layout Tutorial #1

1. Open Paint Shop Pro, Photo Shop, Paint, or whatever other image editing program you would like to use.

2. Copy the image below.
http://usera.imagecave.com/sunshinejenny/templates/guild_template_1.gif

3. Paste the image into your image editing program.

4. The purple box is where the Guild Council, Statistics, Admin, etc will go. You must not move this box, but you can decorate it however you want. You won't want to put any text in the purple box. If you put any photos or graphics in the box, you may want to make them lighter or darker (if possible) so that you can read the text that goes over this image.

5. Add images, effects, titles, or anything else to the rest of your image. If you need to, you can increase the height, but I wouldn't recommend changing the width to any more than 1000 pixels (most users screens are 1024 x 768 pixels or 800 x 600 pixels, and if it's any larger than that, they will have to scroll horizontally, which is bad; the height doesn't matter though). Add boxes for scrolling blogs if you want.

6. If you've added any boxes for scrolling blogs, use the Blog Coding Tutorial. Do not count the purple box as a blog box. Once you have finished, continue on with this tutorial.

7. Upload your image to the internet. Try http://www.imagecave.com/ or http://www.2and2.net/ for an image host.

8. Go to the Guild Layout section of your Guild (under Admin). Click on Modify Guild Preferences. Change your Guild Description to just a space or a period. Change your Guild Colours to match the following:
Background Colour: White
Header Text Colour: Black
Main Text Colour: Black
Link Colour: Black
Main Border Colour: Black
Secondary Border Colour: White

9. Put the following code into your guild Welcome Message. Replace http://www.neopets.com/URLHERE.gif with the address of your image.

If you want the Neopets default sidebar to show up, use this code. Replace http://www.neopets.com/URLHERE.gif with the address of your image.

10. If you used the Blog Coding Tutorial, remove the part of the blog code that says "background-image: url(http://www.neopets.com/blog.gif);" and add this code AT THE END of all the rest:

11. Subtract 280 from each of the "left" values from the Blog Coding Tutorial or else your boxes will be in the wrong place.

12. If you are using a solid background colour other than white, add this code to your guild:

Then change #000000 to the colour you want your background to be. Ther is a colour chart you can use at (http://www.visibone.com/colorlab/).

13. Click on the "Submit Changes" button. Go to your guild's front page to see the finished layout.

8. There are only a few things you can do to this image because in the end, it will be only one pixel high (the template is taller so that it's easier to see). You can change the colours, but they must be solid colours (or a gradient if it fades from right to left or left to right). You can make the border (the black lines) a little wider. That is all.

9. Change the height of the image to one pixel. In Paint, go to Image > Attributes. In Paint Shop Pro, go to Image > Canvas Size. In Photoshop, go to Image > Resize > Canvas Size.
