What you read in this application is probably not what you are expecting, but what you expect in an application--dedication, solid plans, love, and reason--is what you will be reading here tonight.

Hello, my name is Ani, and I am applying for your UC Faerie Techo, Techlia, to trade for an UC Faerie Ixi. Yes, yes, a retrader app! :O Though this type of app may seem awkward or weird, I hope I can woo you with my words to show you that you won't be disappointed if you chose me for Techlia.

A few things to preface: I love smilies. (: I use exclamation points a lot! I am a bubbly and outgoing person in real life, so you'll see this when reading my app. :)

Also, Thank you for giving me this opportunity!

Let's get started!

To start off with, I want to introduce a little bit about the UC Faerie Ixi that I hope will join my family one day. Some people have a general goal/dream pet: A Krawk, a Draik, any named UC Grey Gelert. . . But for me, it's not just any UC Faerie Ixi that I want. There is a certain one I am aiming for. His name is Thossler.

There was once a VWN UC Faerie Ixi that was put UFA. Unfortunately, something happened to the foster's accounts, and the pets changed hands quite a few times. Even long after the event I would occasionally* look up that Ixi to see how he was doing. After being in 2 "permanent homes", he was part of a 3 way trade and will soon be going to the new owner. I want to adopt Techlia in order to trade for this specific UC Faerie Ixi that I have longed to own. (:

*by occasionally I mean all the time at any given chance.

Why am I applying for Techlia? The reason seems rather obvious to me: a wonderfully well named UC Fae Techo would easily trade for this Ixi--no ifs, ands, or buts!

As you have said in your rules page that is is okay to do so, I will admit to you that this idea of apply-to-trade isn't new to me. I've tried it before (in order to get this Ixi), but with lower-tiered DUCKs. Applying now, for a higher-tier pet may seem like an incredibly dumb idea, since the expectations for such a pet obviously go up too. I think in this instance, as opposed to my last app, I do have one advantage: Techlia could directly trade for the UC Fae Ixi. There's nothing theoretical about "how I'm going to trade up"--with Techlia my dream is attainable with only one trade.

You've stated in your rules page that you'd be more inclined to adopt out Techlia to a retrader if we have a trade set up. :) I think I have just the plan for you then!

Here's the situation: Currently, Thossler is in the middle of a 3 way. Ironically, the account he's on currently was someone (ilovetonus6265) who I had traded with last month! They were super nice and told me that Thossler would be going to the user pheethatsme (Phoebe). Phoebe has been on vacation, but was able to mail me back saying that an UC Faerie Techo was a dream pet of hers that she thought was unattainable.

The Plan: Phoebe has agreed to trade Techlia the UC Faerie Techo for Thossler the UC Faerie Ixi. Both of us would be able to get our dream pets!

As of August 24, 2011 - Its getting close to the deadline, but if I can I would love to put up some info about Phoebe for you (about, accounts, etc) so you can know more about who Techlia will be going with. I think she might still be on vacation still though! Will update this part when I can!

Weeell haha my name is Phoebe, I'm 17, 18 on the 1st so that would be a fantastic birthday present to be able to give a home to Techlia XD I don't have THAT much free time because I am always so busy with school, singing, travelling and my friends and family in RL but I love to use Neopets as a bit of an escape C: I have just finished art at school FOR EVER but I am now going to be able to put some of it on Neo and not just into a coursework folder.. I love watercolour and an example of it is on Naptimes' lookie and some other bits of old drawings are on Eneigma's petpage. Now I finally have some time I will be entering Eneigma and Techlia in the BC.

Since I am would be trading for this UC Fae Ixi directly, I think it's really necessary to explain to you why this Ixi is so *deer* to me! (:

UC Faerie Ixi are a very sought after pet on the PC, and it's vary rare that one would go UFA. As much as I love Ixi, I never thought or dreamed of owning an UC Faerie Ixi until I saw this certain one UFA. I had a character in mind that I had planned for a Faerie Ixi, but settled for a Grey Ixi after the conversion. After seeing how perfect this UC Faerie Ixi was, I was determined that my character needed to be with this UC Faerie Ixi and I have felt that way ever since.

When I was going to apply for the Ixi, I didn't have ANYTHING started... Not even a (revamped) design. I was on a cross-country bus and the wifi was down, but I was itching to do something for this application even though the deadline was months away (quite unlike me, as I'm a procrastinator). I got out my laptop and opened Word to start writing down WHY I wanted this Ixi. It ended up being a page and half, 12 pt font, single spaced. I'd like to share it with you:

I apologize that this might be a pretty long section. I've given a lot of time and thought into why I am applying for Thossler, and it is a long way coming. I've had this idea for this character for about six or seven years. Yes, I have an Ixi to whom this character was attached to before. So, why apply for Thossler? Why change over from that Ixi to Thossler? I've given this much thought way before I even started this application and wish to explain to you my reasoning.

As you might have noticed by my account age, I am an old neopian. I came into Neo right after they changed the Bruce from a man in a tuxedo to a chubby little penguin. I remember a time when Adam and Donna were tangible and you could even see how many votes you had in the BC. Because of that I have always loved the old art. After the conversion, I went on and off of neo. Not out of spite or anger, but simply because neo was different.

Within the past year, I have come back here only to grow to love customization and the beautiful new artwork in the recent plot. I still love the old art, but I've always been content with what I've had. I find a satisfaction with saving and painting for my own pets. The only UC I have is Emoku, whom I adopted soon after the conversion. To you he may look like a rare, well-named, Unconverted Grey Zaf, but I applied way before UCs became "rare." I applied because of his name. Emoku was once a basic green Ixi. The owner (who I also adopted from) had a wonderful character, art, and adoptables for him. He was one of the Ixi that got me started on creating my own pet's characters and petpages. That was the reason I applied—-for that Ixi that I remembered.

When I first saw your page of UFA pets, I was amazed that one person could hold so many lovely UCs. I browsed through only to look to see if you had a UC Plushie Kau, with no intentions of applying for any other pet. An UC Faerie Ixi has never been a "dreamie" of mine. I've never thought about applying or trading for one; like I said, I've been content with the Ixi that I have.

The second time I looked at your page, Thossler's name caught my eye. The name, to me, seemed masculine. And as a possible Male UC Faerie Ixi, everything seemed to click. I couldn't resist.

The character that this originally was applied to I had created before the conversion. My goal for him was to paint him Faerie. This was back when the PBs could be bought for a million or less. Even then, that was a lot of nps to me. Somehow, I never seemed to have enough for the pb as inflation rose. He's still a basic Ixi today.

When I created this Ixi, I was starting to inch my way into the Ixi domain. I had created Mossy by then and had a petpage up for him. I was trying to RP with as many Ixi owners as I could in order to become one of the "famous" Ixi owners that I so admired.

My desire for a (now, unconverted) male faerie Ixi was probably most influenced by those "famous" Ixi such as Everwood or Aiir. They had such wonderful designs and petpages. This was all before customization, so their designs were based on the idea of faerie and not any clothes or accessories. I can clearly remember visiting their lookups and seeing neo's old faerie Ixi art, mixed with their wonderful designs.

That is why I'm applying for Thossler: out of nostalgia. I don't think his character would be complete as anything else. Sure, I could paint that Ixi I created, but it wouldn't be the same. I want this character to be what I desired all those years ago: the frilly winged faerie ixi that didn't need to have a frilly character to go along with it.

I'm applying for Thossler the Male UnConverted Faerie Ixi. And that sentence sums up why I am applying.

To me, the "Why I want this Ixi" that you read above is really the most important thing to me. I hope that through it I was able to express my heart-throbbing love for this frilly goat... :O Although, while trying to put my feelings into words, it may seem more like a jumble! xD

Since this Ixi is obviously going to be a permanent pet, I have plans for him!

Alright, to you that just seems like a lot to promise for a pet. I hear you... BUT! I wouldn't say any of that if I didn't already have those things done for my current pets. Let me show you some examples of my current pets, so you know I'm not making empty promises.

✔ -- My permanent pets:

As you can see, I have a LOT of permanent pets. Many of them, Like Mossy, Xariiah, and Yalup have been with me for YEARS, others like Banchiere, and Rhemes have come to me more recently through adoptions. All of theme are here to stay. :) I have 3 last spots to fill in my accounts for permanent pets and I hope one of them can be THE UC Faerie Ixi. The other pets on my accounts will vary at the moment. They are either UFT or labbies, as I'm trying to get spare clothes for customization purposes.

✔ -- My pets with Characters:

See above. x) Yes, all my permanent pets have characters, whether they are fully out of petpages now, or still WIPs in my head. Here are some examples of my pet's story lines:

* Yalup is the BattleMaster at the Makfar Institute for the Gifted where his brother Zair and sister Zinger are both students. He has telekinetic powers and cares about his siblings very much!

* Emoku is the Prince in Exile from Faerieland. He's young and rambunctious, but has a thirst for knowledge! Even for all his outgoing personality, he secretly wishes his parents would come and take him home.

* Ikzey is the First Apprentice to Naia the Rainbow Faerie. Every Ixi that has a custom look is secretly painted by Zey with a special PB that Naia made just for them.

* Mossy is the big brother to Xar and they are the last of the Woodland Elf Ixi--a special breed of Ixi that were wiped out after a fire in the Meridellian War.

As you can see I love making petpages. :) Mossy's is probably my most extensive. I'm currently working on my BC Guide, finishing Isdari's adoptables, and editing Rhemes's petpage.

I always have my petpets play a significant part in my pets stories. Just as I put a great deal of time into having perfect character/pet combos, I put the same into finding the perfect petpet and color combo for them. I've saved up to get Yalup his Gallion, and save to paint Zinger's Pantalaimon Fire, Xar's Guide-puss Red, & Mossy's Poppit Faerie! Many of my other pets have petpets, I'm just being indecisive on what color to paint them! xD *stares back and forth nervously between maractite and faerie* D8

☞ Petpet - Thossler's petpet will be a Faerie Slorg (reminds me of the good 'ol days also!). His slorg plays an important role in his story: he collects the magic time dust after Thoss travels to another time. They then sell it to Neopians like Kauvara so they can get money for food! I also hope to work a Ditrey into his storyline too!

☞ Customization - The image above is the main "look" I want to get for Thossler. Here are some other customization items that go with his story and/or personality.

☞ Account - Thossler will be going on my account animated_chaos, which is my "Loners Account". This fits with his story since he can't get back to the time of the Princess and tends to keep to himself because he has experienced so much in his travels.

I've already introduced myself, but I'll say it again: Hello, my name is Ani! I am 20 years old and in college trying to make my way in the art-world, like everyone else and their second cousin is also trying to do. I am an outgoing and energetic person who over uses explanation marks and smileys when I type! I am currently at school and workings as an RA (Resident Adviser). Just fyi, I actually have no musical talent whatsoever.

On Neo, I consider myself an artist, BCer, and part-time app chatter. I love critiquing apps and seeing what different plans everyone comes up with for the same pet. As for the BC, I've been doing it for years, and now I have over 35 trophies! I love showing off any new picture I have done and the feeling of having so many people vote for your art. :) I'm an old-timer and stand for voting for art, anti-spamming, and fighting the art thieves. One of my current projects is a BC Guide which I hope will be the most complete and comprehensive yet!

If you've browsed through my accounts by now you probably have noticed that I currently own two DUCKs: Wusci the Draik & Emoku the UC Grey Zafara. You're probably thinking, "why can't she just use one of those to start her trading up adventure?".

Both of these pets are special to me. As much as I want this UC Faerie ixi, I also would never part with either of these pets in order to start trading for him. Wow. xD Saying that seems a bit selfish doesn't it? But, to me, these pets are irreplaceable and as special as Thossler is.

Wusci was given to my by my neofriend as a High School graduation present. She knew that I had always wanted a Draik, and I think she traded for Wusci right when the transfer system started. c: She doesn't come on neo anymore, but Wusci still means the world to me! Plus he has a place in my characters stories. (:

Emoku I had talked about a bit before in the section on why I want the UC Faerie Ixi. He was once a basic, Green Ixi and that's how I love to remember him as. His owner had a wonderful design and petpage and inspired me to create characters for my Ixi! I have such an attachment to his name and what he used to be, that absolutely nothing could replace him!

I think that I can get the UC Faerie Ixi, but I would never dream of sacrificing any of my permanent pets or characters. (I can never understand the boards that say "My active isn't UFT because she's a permie, but if she was what is she worth?"). I hope that you will forgive me here for being a bit selfish with my pets, and not hold my "DUCKs" against me when reading my app. :) *quack!*

Why should you chose me, out of all your applicants to adopt Techlia? I know you are getting some wonderful apps for her, and I want to trade. Why should you choose me then?

☞ My Goal - Although I am planning on trading Techlia, I have a solid goal in mind. I'm not trading for an "UC that catches my eye" or "any UC Faerie". Maybe I'm beating a dead horse here, but I'm aiming to get a specific UC Ixi: Thossler. Besides the fact that he's UC, I can't just create this Ixi again--my desire for him stems also from his name, not just his color.

☞ Ixiholic - Hello, my name's Ani and I'm an Ixiholic. (chorus of "Hello, Ani" in the background). This was a term that my good friend, Sunny made up and, boy, does it describe me! (: I've loved Ixi ever since they came out (I remember that day)! Since then, I've accumulated a total of 7 Ixi! I'm also part of a fantastic Ixi guild on my side called, Ixi Grotto! Even though this Ixi is important to me, his importance extends beyond the looks. Yes, I think that this character needs a UC Faerie Ixi, but its the whole package that I am after, which includes the name and the character I created. I truly am not trying to obtain the UC Ixi because he can be viewed as some "status symbol"--I have a love for the species no matter what shape size or color... Mossy is one of my favorite Ixi that I have and he's just green! :)

☞ Application History - Even though I don't plan on keeping Techlia, I though this part was relevant, so you can see that other fosters have found me a trustworthy individual to take care of their pets! (:

Rhemes - My most recent adoption from a UFQA board. I had previously made an application for a Kau + FFQ and the owner disappeared for a few months and didn't respond to neomails. I loved Rhemes' name and thought it fit my plushie Kau character. I decided to apply and was chosen to be his new owner. c: I've put the old app on his page and am changing it to be his new petpage. I've also created a lookup for him and saved up to morph him into a Kau! Recently, he got gold in the BC with over 250 votes!

Isdari - My other wonderful Faerie Ixi! She's a shy little Dwarf Ixi--her species mines the jewels in the mountains near Meridell. C: She was the first "all out" petpage application I did. I've customized her, given her a lookup and worked on her petpage. She's earned 2 silver BC trophies and Im almost finished with a new adoptable set for her page that I'm super happy with!

Banchiere - This guy was fun to apply for. His name means "Banker" in Italian, so I made him a greedy old Lord, who has high taxes on the townspeople. :c I made a simple app for him... and then lost it in a pet transfer. :( I saved up to paint him Royal and found a perfect petpet for him (given to me by my now IRL friend!). He also has earned himself a shiny gold trophy in the BC!

Xumelia - I wasn't looking for a Faerie Kyrii UFA, but her name just clicked with me! I made a simple petpage app and created her character as the "Midnight Fae Kyrii." She's been entered in the BC and I've started her lookup/petpage. I want to work out all the details of her specie's culture before I start her full page. c: I've also given her Imogen the Polarchuck and customized her (including with NC I've splurged on!)

Emoku - Ahh Emoku. My first application.. YEARS ago! Like I mention before, he was once a green Ixi, who's petpage and character inspired me to create my own characters! I am still so glad that I was chosen to adopt him! I looked up the UFA page recently and saw that there were only 5 apps she was considering (even though it was after the conversion!)... quite a difference these days for UCs! Unfortunately I went on a hiatus after adopting him, so not much has happened. :c I've recently found a customization plan for him on Dress to Impress and have entered him in the BC a few times (Zafara doesn't seem to be my forte unfortunately). I still love him & his character and hope to do more with him soon! ^^;

☞ Extreme Happiness - On your rules page you said: Permanent homes are lovely, but at the same time I wouldn't mind seeing someone overjoyed because they finally got their one dreamie via retrading.. - OH THAT'S ME RIGHT THAR!! :O I think my friends are sick and tired of me saying that I want A CERTAIN UC FAERIE IXI anytime there is talk of dream pets. xD I know its the internetz and there's no "proof" when I say things like this, but I would be over the moon if I could finally get this Ixi. I get that stomach-flipping, heart-beating, palm-sweating excitement each time I think I have a chance of getting Thossler. If you want someone to be seriously overjoyed because they finally got their dream pet, well, I'm your gal! :)

☞ References & Encouragement - Normally, I don't agree with "neofriend recommendations", but I decided to put these up since they were random, and I did not ask for these kinda words from fellow neopians & NFs.

The first one was a situation on the PC, where a user posted 5 apps for a krawk & mine was one of them. She was asking the PCers who they would pick for an owner. Spade, who I adopted Banchiere from, randomly posted and thought I was taking good care of his Skeith. (:

The second one, is from my neofriend Sunny. I didn't ask her to write this, she is just such a kind person (to everyone on the PC! xD). This letter warmed my heart when I read it and I needed to share it with you!

It seems that we have now come to the end of my application! Before you go, a few closing words: I posted my app to get critiqued on the PC, and among all the "you shouldn't even turn that in" and "you aren't going to get the pet if you are just trading" someone called me "gutsy". I'll say that I feel far from that--I feel more like a complete underdog! From finding encouragement on your rules page, and in an effort to show those nay-sayers how wrong they are, I have tried to put together an application that shows you my full dedication and potential as an owner for this one last Ixi to add to my herd. ❤ Good luck with all the applications and thank you for reading this [kinda long] application and giving me the chance to get a very special pet!
