THIS GUIDE IS MOSTLY FOR TROUBLE SHOOTING WITH SCREEN SHOTS OF THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS I HAVE SEEN ON THE BOARDS. THE BEGINNING OF IT WAS WHEN KEY QUEST FIRST STARTED..EVERY SECTION IS IN BOLD RED OF THE STATED QUESTIONS. First of all remember no matter what place you get you can keep the neopoints you earn through out the game. Every place gets prizes no matter if you place 1st-4th. You don't have to redeem the key right away, you can save it if you want too. You can redeem 10 keys a day! You can play more than this but there is a neopoint earning limit, however you can earn extra keys to redeem on a day maybe you can't play 10 games..or when the game simply isn't loading Also remember that is is in BETA mode. What is BETA?? It is the process of checking software, to verify that it satisfies its requirements and to DETECT ERRORS. So be patient with it it's in the works at least we are lucky enough to get to play it and get prizes while it is still the BETA version. It still has problems and bugs sometimes it will work better for you than others. When something weird happens that isn't normal.. say your chat box suddenly moves or your token gets dragged across the grass. This is a sure fire sign that the game will either freeze or boot you and/or your opponent(s). HAVING TROUBLE GETTING KEY QUEST TO WORK??? Try running a Disk clean up on your computer if you are having a lot of problems this usually helps make the mini games run smoother. Or try updating your flash player: CLICK HERE TO UPDATE FLASH PLAYER Also here are the key quest system requirements: To play you need: Broadband connection speed or faster Flash Player 9.0.124 If you are using a PC: Processor: 1.5GHz or above RAM: 2 GB RAM Operating System: Windows XP or Vista Web Browser: IE 6.0 or above, Firefox 2.0 or above If you are using Mac: Processor: Intel Duo Core 2GHz or above RAM: 2 GB RAM Operating System: Mac OS-X 10.4.11 or above Web Browser: Firefox 2.0 or above If you look at the picture below there is an arrow pointing at the circle that is on my active token in the waiting room. If that circle is there too long and won't go away, you won't be able to get into the game. Just EXIT the ROOM and RE-ENTER.. I usually SAY "BRB" when I notice this happening! (SIDE NOTE: if you are playing a game where you "invited" a friend or were invited and it does this the game won't start and if you exit you won't be able to get back into it. Usually I will chat on a board or Neomail my friend saying meet me in: General chat, Fan clubs, etc. and look for my screen name..then jump into that room.. because then you can enter and exit freely without your room disappearing and have to create and invite all over again!)

 ANOTHER WARNING SIGN THE GAME ISN'T GOING TO LOAD. If you try to say something in the chat box and nothing shows up:  If none of these options work for you make sure you have the latest flash player installed! If you are the player with the crown keep an eye on the door (see red circled door in picture below) If the door lights up with a green circle you can click on it to start the game!  NOT SURE WHERE TO GO TO REDEEM YOU KEYS THAT YOU HAVE WON! SEE PICTURE BELOW!! JUST CLICK ON THE VAULT BUTTON IT's CIRCLED in RED:  ALSO it is possible to WIN a PAINTBRUSH FROM KEY QUEST! (UPDATE 2010: Neopets Plush are no longer available at stores. Neopets has been making tokens available randomly through the NC mall. Most of them are available only for a limited time. The merchandise link I have above will tell you places you can buy NC Cards if you wish to purchase from the NC MALL.)Or if you have a paypal account you can buy NeoCash immediately. A bonus to buying the NC Cards though is you get gift boxes which is really handy for sending NC Items to friends or trading with other Neopians for older items that are no longer available in the NC Mall! HOW DO I CHANGE MY TOKEN!?!? I GOT A PLUSHIE AND I CAN'T USE IT IN THE GAME???? Go to your user look up and click on the Key Quest link:  That will take you to your case, so far I only have Neopets tokens so that is what is circled below.  After you click on that find the token you want to add. Click on the neopet you want to add and a box should pop up. Click on the Key Quest Quick List, and a check will mark that box! In my case I want to add my Electric Shoyru:  Next to your neopet there should now be a little key icon, which means it is on your key quest quick link. Circled below. You can only have I believe 8 tokens on your quick link, but you can go and change them whenever you want!  Now when you go into an area on Key Quest, General Chat, Fan Clubs, Newbies, OR Expert look in the upper left hand corner you will see a random token that is in your quick list next to your screen name. Click on the Select box with the down arrow, and select which token you want to use before joining a game! (circled below!)  HOW DO I TURN OFF THE SOUND, WITHOUT HAVING TO TURN OF MY SPEAKERS???? In the image below once you are in a room (before entering with other players) click on the S looking button CIRCLED IN GREEN BELOW)(UPDATE 10/26/08 Since it went live they changed the symbol but it's in the same spot as my screen shot!)  Next scroll down and the very last option on this settings box is "Sound Volume" CIRCLED IN RED BELOW:  WANT MORE FROM MY GUIDE!??!?MINI GAMES and OTHER (UNDER CONSTRUCTION): Don't fear the X. X marks the spot like on a treasure map. Landing on the space my Aisha token is on, will give you a random power up, extra neopoints, and the key color of your choice. :D  SPYDER MINI GAME: Follow the lights cast by your spyder's eyes, wait till it is lined up with the piece you want to collect and click your mouse, it will collect that piece for you! Example is circled in RED.  NOTICE THE YELLOW CIRCLE around the BLUE orb??? (UPDATE 1/6/09 At some point this has changed, Now collecting BLUE orbs will speed up your spyder and the BLACK/PURPLE ones will freeze your opponent!) LABYRINTH GAME: Break down those brown doors by hitting it repeatedly with your arrow key in the direction you want to go. You will earn a point for each door you break. CIRCLED IN RED, is the example of that door. The yellow chest CIRCLED IN GREEN is where you want to ultimately get to. If I get there early I usually break down a couple extra brown doors to get more points.  PET PET PET SNARE: Draw loops around the petpetpet that is required faster than your opponent!  GLITCHES I KNOW OF 1) Maze mini game: You think you are wining because your faellie is ahead of your opponents on your screen, suddenly the little wooden looking doors are breaking by themselves. It is just LAG. It's happened to me before and I'm sure I have had my opponents see the same thing occasionally. 2)Digging Game: Just like above on the Zomutt digging game you will see your opponents Zomutt stuck in one place while you see dirt blocks disappearing that you aren't digging up! Again it's LAG. 3) The lint ball power up: This power up has issues! When it is played if the other player lands on a mini game square it will appear to freeze. Then the game will resume, but dark looking, like when a mini game is about to start, This will continue until a player lands on another mini game square. Your chat box will also disappear until that time. 4) The EXIT: DO NOT go to the exit door if you DO NOT have one of each of the keys. It will freeze the game, and there is no going back. Therefore the time you spent playing the game will be lost and no one will be awarded prizes. (Which is quite annoying if you've spent a great deal of time having a power up war.) 5) TOKENS: Some tokens will make the game NOT load from the waiting room. The only ones I know of are the RAINBOW PETS. Not sure if this is still not working though. But if you try and it doesn't work that is why! 6) Mortog power up: If your opponent is in front of the door and you have ALL of the keys and you use the power up to get to the door to win...you will be stuck at the winning position until the other player gets there. Thus forcing you to claim silver vs. gold. (THIS HAS BEEN FIXED just noticed 2/09) BOARDS (THIS SECTION IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION): SWEET 1 BOARD LAYOUT  BOARD SAMPLE  SWEET 2 BOARD LAYOUT  BOARD SAMPLE  NEOPIAN CHARACTERS (THIS SECTION IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION):  This card can work really awesome wonders if you have a Boots of Flight power-up!!  These girls can make the game more difficult.. or better..depending on how you look at it, they like to make mischief by changing the colors of the keys on the board. HEXES (THIS SECTION IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION):  This card will make all the power ups collected change randomly!
