Intro

Welcome to neo.anxious; a private, literate, NR guild. The big mystery is WHY are we a private guild? Simple answer: we don't like scammers, beggars, or illiterate fools. If you aren't any of those things, it's easier to get in than to slice a cake (that is, unless you have aichmophobia- fear of knives). neo.anxious prides itself in its unique way of using the word 'guild'. We're not just a guild, we are a
family, a very tightly bonded family, like a bag of rubber bands all mixed up together. (: Although we may be considered a 'big' guild by some people, we're actually all very close! We all have our low days, and this guild was created to pick us up along the way. Not only are we all friends and lean on each other for help, advice, support, or just someone to chat with, we have a lot of fun in the meantime, too! Not to mention, we're always welcoming new members into our little close knit circle. One of the best aspects of the guild is the
diversity within it; we have people of all ages and locations, so there's always someone to chat with and relate to. Something we hold very dear about us is
fairness. No matter what age you are, who you know in the guild, or how impressive your account is, it cannot help nor hurt you in the application process. It's our way of making sure the playing field is level and everyone has an equal chance of getting in. ^^
Bragging Rights
Some random facts about the guild:
- Our original guild was created on October 24, 2006.
- We were deleted eight times and have had five different leaders yet we are still here, strong as ever.
- We have 50+ member-written guides on our guides page.
- Most importantly, we have a large array of people in the guild, including Dr. Sloth + minions, several typo faeries/grammar queens, pink eraser lovers, cheez-it eaters, Fyora, Kass, and a few dinosaurs sprinkled in. 8D Care to join?
How To Join
Like we already said, it's really not that hard to join us! We love to welcome new members to the family and are always sad to see one go; so we want to make sure you think this is the guild for you!
If you can see one of our lovely boards
here, then joining is incredibly easy. All you need to do is come and chat to us. ^^ (I'd make some joke about the fact that we don't bite, but then I'd be lying...) If we think you're literate, fun and genuinely interested in joining, an invite will soon be on its way to you- simply ask for one! :D
If there's no board, all you have to do is a) read the rules, b) complete an application, and c) neomail it to a Member Adoption Committee member. We will post your application on the guild board for opinions from the members. If you're accepted (which, of course, you will be, if you're
literate and
creative!), they'll zap you an invite. Chances are, if you seem creative and literate, everyone will be peachy keen with having you here.
Rules
Sadly, every guild has rules and we're no exception. We look at it as a way to protect ourselves.
- No chatspeak or spamming. This is our number one rule simply because we pride ourselves in being a LITERATE neopets guild. If English isn't your first language, it's no big deal! We're not discriminating against anyone, we just feel that the English language was created to be used properly.
- No begging or scamming. Beggars and scammers are lower than the lowest speck of bacteria on the smallest speck of dirt in the whole wide Neopian world. You really don't want to be that low, do you?
- Participate and have fun. A guild policy we strictly follow is deleting members who have not posted in the past month, any members who have been in the guild for a week but have not posted 5 times, and any members who have been in the guild for two weeks but have not posted 10 times. We don't hold the guild together so Neopians can shield themselves from guild invitations (that's what the block button is for!). So post at least once a week or so, and try to join in on the fun! If you need to go away for a month or so, notify a council member so you aren't deleted. We don't bite, promise!
- Be courteous to others. Acceptance of other members is something we hold very close to our hearts. We are a warm, welcoming family, we include everyone, and we have zero tolerance for making another guild member feel uncomfortable.
- Follow the NeoRules. Anything The Neopets Team doesn't like, we don't like. Simple enough!
- Enable guild mailings!! Although we cannot make sure you follow this rule, it is totally encouraged. It's also fun to be kept up-to-date on huge guild events, council elections, and new rules. To enable guild mailings, go here and make sure you check off the "Enable Guild Mailings" box.
Consequences
- For being illiterate, we will warn you once, suspend you the second time, and delete you the third time. Literacy is something we take VERY seriously.
- For being considered inactive, you will receive an automatic deletion, with no warning.
- For insulting any member, you will be immediately deleted from the guild. If you find that a member has insulted you, please contact a council member immediately.
- For not following the NeoRules, if TNT hasn't frozen you already, we will block you. (:
- For not enabling guild mailings, we will send Dr. Sloth's minions after you. Believe me, there are lots of them - and they're all equipped with long lasting hair gel!
Applications
So you really think this is the guild for you? GREAT! We love you already!
If you can't find an advertising board on the Guild boards, then just fill out this application
ONCE and zap it over in a neomail to just
ONE of the Member Adoption Committee Members. (If one of them referred you, you should probably send it them for a quick response!) You can find a quick neomail link to each Committee Member below the application. You should receive some kind of response within 24 hours, and hopefully, it'll be an invite link!
Make sure you have guild invites unblocked!
Some people have informed us that most private guilds like applications that are short and to the point. But then again, we are not like most private guilds, now are we? You can make your application however long or short as you like, as long as it expresses your true thoughts on the questions.

If you go to
iTrust's petpage, you can find some tips to writing your application. It is
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you take a look at this page! :) It is a great guide to help you realize what we really look for in applications.
Ranks
Every guild has ranks, but most require you to donate. Not us. No way. While donations are nice, neopoints aren't what makes a great Neopian! Below is a brief guideline of how to get promoted. Be advised that Committee Members and Council may adjust your rank for reasons other than post counts or participation in activities. We like to show members we appreciate them!
- calm : newly adopted member
- jittery : 250 posts
- hyper : 1000 posts
- dizzy : 2000 posts
- anxious : reserved for Committee Leaders and Council Members
So You've Joined
- Get acquainted with the guild! We can't stress this enough, but the webbie and this page will be your best friend for the first day or two. Well, besides the great people you meet!
- One thing we suggest is putting your name in your neoHTML. Most of the members have, as it makes it easier to get to know everyone. No one feels comfortable being called by their username, or calling others "Hey you!"
- Chat it up on the guild boards, you won't get your first rank up until you've hit 250 or more posts. But remember, don't spam! It may seem like a lot of posts, but by our standards, it's not. B)
- If you're interested in a committee or helping out with the guild, we ask two things of you: a) Wait at least a week after joining before offering a hand; we want the staff to know our members quite well so they can do the best job for our members that they can! and b) Read the information available to you on the website. We can't stress this enough! The Design, Newspaper, and Member Adoption committees are always open, but only to those members who are role models to other members. Otherwise, what would be the point?
- Request your council as neofriends! This way, we get to see which one of you is on and not on the board, allowing us to carry on with our mutual plan with Dr. Sloth to ... erm, just request us. And remember to enable guild mailings!!

I know you're curious. :O
A Small Note
We've seen a number of guilds take their inspirations from our FAQ page, but as we worked hard to come up with it, we'd appreciate if you would credit our guild.
