After walking for a long time in a seemingly endless meadow, you sigh and slump down in the grass. There's no way I'm gonna get outta here, You think sorrowfully. The wind picks up, ruffling your hair, and you glance up at the sky worriedly.
Oh great! Now it's gonna rain? You stand hurriedly, grumbling to yourself without thinking. Well, whatever. This meadow's gotta end somewhere, right?
With those words you trudge on, keeping your gaze fixed on nothing but the darkening gray sky.

The History

A female shadow Xweetok lay inside a hollow tree. She smiled as she picked up the small kit she had just given birth to. Sadly, no mate returned as she held the kit. The Xweetok looked down the hill the tree was on. She saw other new mothers nuzzling their mates. She sighed and looked at the kit. "At least I've got you," She said to the kit, who was not shadow, but blue with yellow markings.
The Xweetok snuggled her kit gently, making the kit laugh. One of the Xweetok's friends walked up the hill with her kit to say hello to her.
The Xweetok's friend smiled. "Ah, Tirinu, your kit is beautiful," She said. "But... What's with its fur? It's all... blue... and yellow... Not like you. It's weird." She looked at her own striped kit.
Tirinu frowned at her friend. "My kit is just fine, Hirilaya, so if you're going to say there's a flaw, then leave, because Moonehsuisa is perfect to me."
Hirilaya shrugged. "Alright, but my Urisa is perfect, not your... er... What was its name? Moonehsuisa?" She laughed out the newborn kit's name as she turned and left Tirinu alone with her kit.
Tirinu sighed and looked down at Moonehsuisa. "Some friend, huh?" She muttered, then looked after Hirilaya. She looked back down at Moonehsuisa. "Well... No use calling you Moonehsuisa. It's a little too long. How about calling you... Moon? After all, tonight is the night of a full moon..."
Moon giggled and cooed. She held out her paws to her mother. "Mama," She said happily.
Tirinu smiled and yawned. She looked at the sky. It was dark blue. Stars glistened on the two Xweetoks' fur. "It's getting late," She muttered, and laid down. She wrapped Moon in her tail and fell asleep. Moon did as well. Tirinu smiled in her sleep. They had survived the first day together...

Tirinu awoke to the smell of smoke. It smelled like a fire was right next to her. She coughed and looked up. Her whole clan of Xweetoks was standing over her and Moon with torches in their paws. She grabbed Moon and held her close.
She stood up and looked at one of the elders. "What do you want from me?"
The elder replied, "Dear Tirinu, we want that newborn dead. The whole pack has decided. We all fear that because your kit looks so unusual, it must be killed."
Tirinu looked at them in shock. "H-how... Wh-Why..." She saw Hirilaya smirking in the middle of the crowd. "Y-You!" She snarled. She stomped over to Hirilaya and grabbed her by the neck scruff. You told them! You told them about Moon's unique color! And her markings!"
Hirilaya smiled slyly. "So what if I did?" She snapped. "That accursed child of yours has done nothing but fill the whole pack with fear and hate. Face it, Tirinu. That thing has to be killed to save your life. It's either you or your kit."
Tirinu glared at Hirilaya and threw her to the ground. "I choose neither," She growled, grabbed Moon in her mouth, and started to run towards the mountain range in the north.
One of the elders called after Tirinu. "That's not a good choice!" He yelled, then turned to the other Xweetoks. "We must hunt them down," He said. "Anyone strong enough to survive the harsh weather in the Northern Range shall go. We must rid our pack of that burden Tirinu calls a kit."

It had been about half a day of running for the poor single mother and her kit. Tirinu was tired out, her chest heaving with every breath she took. "I... think we're... far enough... for now..." She gasped, stumbling into an alcove and setting her beloved child down on a rock where she could keep an eye on her.
Mama," Moon whined. "Why do we have to run? I liked it back with the clan..." Her voice trailed off as she spotted a faint, firey glow in the distance. "Hm? What's that?" She curiously padded over to the edge of the alcove, ears and tail perking.
What...?" Tirinu turned to look at the young Xweetok. "MOON! NO! Get back! They'll see you!" She grabbed ahold of the kit, who squirmed in her mother's grasp. "Aw, no... Not already... It can't be..." She muttered, her eyes wide and her gaze fixed on the glow of her clan's torches.
Mama? What's wro-"
Moon, we have to get moving. NOW." Tirinu scooped up her kit in her mouth again and bounded further to the north, soon after taking refuge in a cave hidden in the deepest of snowbanks.
Alright... We should be safe here... for now..." Tirinu stared up at the sky, pitch-black, cloudless and starry.

Maayia: I never thought I could hate anyone other than my old clan... but... She... Ugh. During the day all she does is hunt those smaller than her. Heck, I bet she even hunts those bigger than her, too. She comes after me a lot... I don't know why she does, but I really wish she'd stop.

Nyrez: I like him... He's nice to me and so I am nice to him in return. He's only ten, but he's actually quite mature. I seriously think he understands me... Which is... quite nice. IMAGE GOES HERE

image Trickyn: He was once a prince... Until his parents died... He shares a similarity to me in that he is an orphan now... He's a lot more cheerful than I am, though. He's only four and yet... He understands why you should not dwell on the past. Maybe I could learn from him.

Enzori: Zori is actually a lot younger than me... Eight or nine years, to be exact. But, we share a lot of similarities, which most would find odd. We really don't seem anything alike--but looks and personalities can be deceiving. IMAGE GOES HERE

image Liariah: This little puffball's pretty nice... He's annoying at first, but you get used to it... When I met him, he was lost in the forest. I helped him find his way out, but then we were attacked by MayaXwee.

Mesliia: I am eternally grateful to this Gelert girl... She helped out me and Rio when MayaXwee attacked us. If it weren't for her showing up unexpectedly, we both would probably be dead to this day. Meslia is pretty nice overall... A little rude when it comes to defending others (You won't believe the things she called MayaXwee...), but still nice. IMAGE GOES HERE

image Nenechii: -sigh- This guy has no consideration for others' feelings... He just thinks life's a big joke, or that's the impression he gives off to me. He's way too hyper for my liking. If he'd just calm down a little, I'm sure he'd be a great friend.

Sakeya_: This Lupe girl's pretty nice... I haven't talked to her much, but she seems like she'd be a good friend. When her friend was in trouble, she helped him out instead of leaving him... I like that sort of personality. IMAGE GOES HERE
