06/25/08 Added links to the top of the page to make navigation easier. 06/23/08 Took out some daily games, as I don't have the time to keep the section updated right now. For Find the NP, circle your mouse around the picture until you find the NP symbol and click on it. Points will be credited to your account usually within a few hours. Step One:
Get Mozilla Firefox if you haven't already. It's faster and less glitchy than other internet browsers, and uses the same tab system. If you're afraid of switching from your dear old Internet Explorer, don't be! Firefox can do everything IE does, but better. It also offers a wide range of add-ons to customize your internet experience. Plus, you'll still have the option of using IE at any time (not that you'll ever need to). To download Firefox, simply search on Google for "firefox" and choose the first result titled "Firefox - Rediscover the Web." Then click on this button to begin your download:
Step Two:
Get Adblock Plus. Adblock Plus is a Firefox add-on which automatically blocks ads from known advertising sites. It is much more effective than a popup blocker, because it not only blocks popups but banners as well. If you haven't already clued in, that means faster loading time for web pages because banner images don't need to be loaded. Neat, huh? To download Adblock Plus, simply search on Google for "firefox adblock plus" and choose the first result titled "Adblock Plus :: Firefox Add-ons." Then click on this button to begin your download:
Once Adblock Plus has been installed, you will be asked to restart Firefox. Click "Restart Firefox" to do so. You will then be asked to choose a subscription for Adblock Plus that automatically blocks a set list of advertising sites. Select "EasyList (USA)" and then click "Subscribe." This will block all non-neopets ads. To get rid of neopets banners, like the one at the top of each neopets page, click the arrow next to the "ABP" symbol in the top right corner of your browser and then go to "Preferences."
Add each of the following filters by clicking "Add Filter":
*Note:* There may be certain times on neopets when you need to disable Adblock Plus, like when you're playing Adver-Video. To do this, click the arrow next to the "ABP" symbol and uncheck "Enable Adblock Plus."
Step Three:
Get Rid of Cookies. For those who don't know, cookies are pieces of information stored in the user's computer for future access. They remember things like information used to fill out a form, so that if you return to a website your preferences will still be there. Cookies are saved without the user's knowledge, and in many cases are never used again. They tend to build up after a while, slowing down your internet connection, and need to be deleted every so often to prevent this. Firefox will delete cookies for you, if you want it to. In your Firefox browser click on Tools - Options and choose the "Privacy" tab. Under Cookies, select "Keep until I close Firefox."
To view and delete the cookies stored in your computer, click on "Show Cookies" and then "Remove All Cookies."
