Guild Wars will start in Mid-April and will be held as Divisional Tourneys, only one division will be battling at a time. I know this spreads the war out over several weeks but I think it attract more guilds since full teams will not be necessary to win a Divisional Title. We will still have a overall Guild Trophy for those guilds that enter all Divisions.
Divisions:
Battler League Calculation: Standard NCW league calculator adjusted if the battler's pet has 2 defence boosts or higher over strength boost. The exception to this rule will be the 125 str boost, due the huge increase between the 125 boost and 200 str boost, battlers will be leagued up if they one boost over 125 boost. These rules do not apply to Division 4 & 5 (leagues 15 and up). Example: A league 6 battler has defence which is 2 boost over the league 6 strength boost. That battler will move up to league 7. In every case where the battler will be leagued up, it will be reviewed by Starry Night. Guild Team Leaders are welcome to get an advance ruling on a member with higher defence prior to submitting their rosters.
The Guild Wars will be held over a four to six week period by Divisions. The final schedule will be determined by the number of Guilds that enter. Tentative schedule is as follows:.
One substitution per guild per Division will be allowed if made no later than 24 hours before the start of that Division battling. If you are entering a team for any division, please contact Starry to discuss how to enter a team
Divisional winners (first through third) will be announced at the end of each Divisional battling period, trophies will be awarded at that time. Trophies will be awarded on total points earned. At the end of the Division 5 tourney, Division 5 and the Overall Guild Winners* will be announced.
*Overall Guild Winner will be determined by points given for placement in each league. In order to be eligible for the Overall Guild trophy, a guild must have a team in all five divisions. Points for each league placement will be awarded as follows, the guild with the most points will win the overall trophy (first through third place will be awarded):
11 pts, 2nd = 7, 3rd = 5, 4th = 3, 5th = 2, 6th = 1
Format: Battlers will fight all battlers in their league, each opponent will be battled three times. It is recommended that Guild enter a battler in the each of the leagues since you will forfeit the battles for every league in which you do not have a battler. All teams that have a battler in a league in which another guild forfeits that league will receive six war points as it counts as an automatic win.
Battler Classification: We will be using the standard league calculator with the following exception. If a battler has more 2 boosts or higher over strength boost, they will be classified one league up, the exception is League 9 (125 boost), any battler having 200 def or higher will be leagued up. In all cases, battlers that are leagued up will be personally reviewed by me. The objective of this rule is to pair up battlers in fair and equitable battles.
Guild Team Leaders are allowed to enter a battler one league above their current league. Once the rosters are submitted, the battler is committed to battle in that league. If a battler overtrains in their assigned league, before they finish their battles and their final stats recorded, the will be disqualified and forfeit all battles (whether fought or unfought). Once a battler has finished all battles, Guild Team Leaders may request a final stat check so the battler can be cleared to train again.
Scoring: Battlers will receive 2 pt for each win and 1 pt for a tie. Points for each team will be tallied by Division (total points) and Total War Scores (see above for calculation of Overall Winners). Teams are allowed to enter teams in one or more divisions. Teams will submit a team roster for that Divisional Tourney by the posted dates (to be determined) Teams will submit the results of their battles on the team scoring sheet to Starry no later than the due date and time determined at the start of the tourney. Failure to submit results will result in a forfeit of all battles. In case of a tie for points, guilds will share the trophy.
Please note that this is a Guild war and only one team will be allowed per guild. All members on the team must be from the guild, if a member leaves the guild, they are considered disqualified for purposes of this tournament. A battler may enter only one pet per division. If a battler enters multiples pets (Division 1 and Division 2), each pet must have their own set. If a battler belongs to two guilds, their main account determines their guild affiliation.
In order for the Guild Wars to be a success, it is extremely important that battlers fight their scheduled battles. Please do not sign up for the Guild War if you will be unable to battle or cannot battle during normal NST times. Battlers should issue challenges and neomail their opponents as soon as the war roster is issued. Please be sure to note on the challenge that this is for the NCW Guild War. If a battler does not accept a challenge, the Team Leader must provide a reasonable excuse to Starry Night (yhanlon). I will ask for a list of unresponsive battlers within three days of the beginning of the war. Since this is a short war, please insure that your battler is available to battle. Battlers must be battle ready, any battler that tries to delay battling due to acquisition of new weapons or training will be DQ'd. Time zone, personal issues etc, which can interfere with scheduling battles, must be taken into consideration by the Team Leader. I will be taking a very strong stand on unresponsive battlers in this war. You run the risk of forfeiting your battles in that league if your battler is reported as unresponsive or cannot battle during normal NST times. Please ask your battlers to keep records of all attempts to contact their opponents; it could make the difference between a forfeit and a win.
Rules:
1. Once a battler enters a battle, they are committed to completing that battle, please make sure you are healed and all your weapons are equipped. Battlers are not allowed to begin a battle with higher or lower hps that then their stat shows. In other words, do not use the healing springs, shrooms or potions to bump your hps higher that the stat shown on the pet status page. Battlers are not allowed to enter battles with anything less than full hps, in the event this occurs it constitutes a rebattle. No quests may be completed during a battle, also, since RE's can affect the outcome of the battle (Ghost Lupe or Von Roo); any RE's received during a battle that restore or subtract any battler's stats require a rebattle immediately. Any outside the battledome influences that can affect the outcome of a battle cause an immediate rebattle. Any battler than has benefited from RE's or Faerie Quests during battle must contact their opponent and arrange for a rebattle. Once a battler enters a battle, they are committed to completing that battle, please make sure you at full hps and all your weapons are equipped.
2. Battlers are expected to treat their opponents, team mates and fellow battlers with respect and courtesy. Everyone has trained hard and spent time and nps to participate in this War. Flaming or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification. If corrective action is not taken by the team leader or if the team condones poor sportsmanship, the entire team may be disqualified.
3. Do not publish screenies or reveal any battlers weapons without their written permission, violation of this rule could result in disqualification from the war.
4. Use of any cheats or taking advantage of any battledome glitches is strictly forbidden. Any battler caught will be immediately disqualified and any war points earned by that battler will be forfeit. Please report any abuse to Starry Night immediately. Take screenies where necessary. Second use of the ability burrow/sink is forbidden since that is a BD glitch. All abilities except for Regeneration, Restore and Healing vapor must be used on full power. Due to the difference in weapons in other languages, please battle in English, battling in any other language constitutes a rebattle.
5. Important: Borrowing weapons will not be allowed. Remember that we may ask Neopets to trace weapons transfers of battlers suspected of borrowing weapons. All Neopets rules apply to the Guild War. No violation of Neopets rules, terms & conditions will be tolerated. Forum rules apply to all battling events.
6. All battlers must be using accounts no less than one month old unless they are plainly referenced to a main account. The main account must indicate the side account in its user lookup. (The battler must, however, clearly label the account (user lookup) that it is a spare of the battlers main account (give the main account name and guild name so we can check the guild affiliation). If a battler belongs to two guilds, their main account determines their guild affiliation.
7. Frozen Accounts – In the case of frozen battlers, they have until the end of battling for their Division to get uniced and finish their battles. If they cannot get their account back by the end of battling they will receive credit for the battles they have completed; any unfinished battles will be forfeit. If a battler is frozen after all their battles are completed and the battler has been cleared by Starry (stats finaled), the results of their battles count.
8. All Neopets and NCW forum rules apply to this tournament. Violating Neopet or NCW forum rules may result in disqualification from the tourney.
