How to get a Pirate Pet
Ah, so you want your pet to join a pirate crew, do you? Excellent choice! We will dominate Neopia! Have you decided what species of pirate your pet would like to be? I see Krawks are most popular. No matter. Visit the Rainbow Pool first thing and see if the species you desire may be painted pirate. Remember, not all species can be a pirate!
You've found the perfect species to be pirate? Perfect, Create that species! Remember, you cannot have more than 4 pets on an account. If it's a limited edition species, check the pound or purchase a Morphing Potion to create a limited edition pet. Now, you'll need to visit the tradesor auctions and search for a Pirate Paint Brush. They are worth estimated around 3.2 million NPs. You do have the NPs, don't you? If not, perhaps the seller would be willing to trade with easy to sell items worth 3.2 million NPs. You may also visit the Trading/Auctions chat and see if you can find a good deal or trade on a Pirate Paint Brush.

Eh? You want one of your older pets to be a pirate? But it's not a species you want? No worries! You can simply buy a morphing potion! Morphing potions comes in various colors and species. Yes, there's even pirate morphing potions! Perhaps you can find the right morphing potion in the trades or auctions for your pet. Here's a list of pirate morphing potions:

You have a Fountain Faerie Quest? Well lucky you! Yes, you have the option of painting your pet pirate at the Rainbow Fountain! You may get a Fountain Faerie Quest (FFQ) as a random event. She may come at any time, at any page, and she often asks for items rarity of 90‡. The price value of the items vary in a wide range from 100 NPs to over 1 million NPs. Upon completing her quests, she will let you use her Rainbow Fountain to paint your pet into almost any color you wish! It is very rare and gosh darned lucky to get her for a quest!
Note: The Lab Ray cannot turn a pet pirate! It is one of few species the Lab Ray CANNOT do.
How to get a Pirate Petpet
Looking for the right pirate petpet to go with your new pirate pet? Look no further than the Petpet Puddle! These petpet species may be painted pirate with a Pirate Petpet Paint Brush. Take the brush and petpet to be painted at the Petpet Puddle.

About Scurvy Scalawags
Scurvy Scalawags was inspired by the many pet directories out there. Upon discovering there were no directories dedicated to the Pirates of Neopia, this directory came to extistence in the Month of Celebrating, Y7. It was suggested to twlilightcompanion by obsession, and twilightcompanion created the original layout and content. In the month of Relaxing, Y8, twilightcompanion put a notice on the Charter Neoboard that he was looking for someone to take over his Pirate Directory. Qbureau volunteered, and set about redesigning the directory to give it a fresh new look and added content. The original format and most content was created by twilightcompanion remain much the same.
