Hello guest!! Welcome to Mary's Codestone Exchange Page! Now on to the point of this page which is Codestone Exchange.First of all let's see what codestones are.
Codestones are small magical stones with Runes carved on them in an ancient language.
There is an avatar you can get by having all 10 of the brown codestones in your inventory and refreshing. ![]()
Another little known fact is that if you take the 10 brown codestones to the Mystery Island Volcano
and throw them in you will be given one of the more valuable red codestones in return!
The names of the basic (brown) stones are:
Har,
Mau,
Bri,
Tai-Kai,
Zei,
Eo,
Orn,
Vo,
Lu,
and Main,
The stones are used in Neopia as a means of exchange for training your pets for battle, with instructor Ryushu, at the Mystery Island Training School. Pets below level 40 may be trained less expensively by Cap'n Threelegs at the Swashbuckling Academy on Krawk island. Payment there is Dubloons. After level 40 they can be trained only at the Mystery Island Training School. These stones can be used to train your pets to level 250. The training schools offer courses to increase your pet's level, strength, agility (movement), defence, and endurance (hit points). Of course you could always take your chances by attempting to gain levels or abilities with the Secret Laboratory or Faerie magic but these methods are hit or miss at best. With the Lab you have very little control and may actually lose stats. and with the Faeries you have little control over which abilities they bestow or how much good they will do. Now...getting back to codestones. There are also other codestones which are red in color instead of brown. They are much more expensive and are used to train only the highest level pets,(those above level 250). They are:
Cui,
Sho,
Kew,
Mag,
Zed
and Vux
These can only be used at the Secret Ninja Training School.
There are links to the location, but it is hidden somewhere on Mystery island.
Needless to say there are very few pets who have seen this place. Most people who are training save all codestones whether from random events or super deals from shops. At some point, when you are training you will find yourself in a position where you need a codestone that you don't have. This is where the Exchange comes in. The first thing to remember is to trade with a codestone as close in price, to the one you need, as possible. You will need to make up the difference in value with Neopoints. As of today's date, July 10, 2008, these are the approximate values of the stones:
Eo=9800
Main=8500
Lu=8500
Orn=7600
Zei=7600
Tai-Kai=6900
Vo=6800
Mau=6200
Har=6000
Bri=3800Prices vary greatly, and super deals can be found, but it gives you an idea which stones can be of close to equal value in trading. As you can see, if you have a Bri but need an Eo you'll need to pay 6000 nps but that is still a good deal for you. If you are setting up a trade both people should check the shop wiz at that time. Everyone can benefit from an exchange.
Setting up the exchange:We will be checking in the guild to see who would like to participate in the exchange.
* Then all you need to do is put your all the codestones you have in trade marked "reserved". (Don't say "for the guild" so TNT doesn't think wrongly that we have some illegal game or activity going on.)
* I will post a list of participating members on this page. When you need a stone and have one to trade you can check the trades of our fellow "Exchangers".
* If the stone you need is more valuable than your trade then you must make up the difference in nps to shop wiz prices on that date.
*All participants have the right to refuse your offer if you do not meet that criteria. No one wants to lose out in this exchange, and we will be on the honor system somewhat.
* If the stone you need is worth less than the one you have, then we will ask you to place a junk item, which you will have discussed with your trading partner, in your shop marked for sale in the amount of the price difference. They would then be required to buy that item BEFORE the trade is processed. This is where the honor system comes into play. We are fellow guild members and it requires some degree of trust for this to work. I think we can do this, have fun, train our pets with less hassle and give our guild friends any profit rather than the shops at large.
*Remember, you can keep your stones in trades, marked "reserved" so that we can see what is available, but trades all expire after 2 weeks, at that time you can put them up again.
Participating Members:
Check their trades for available stones.
