Dear tnt, A petition is not complete unless we can tell you why such a large number of people are against the new version of yooyuball. The Altador Cup is entering its sixth year, a year in which it was decided to completely revamp the major game. While we appreciate the work you put into this game, it simply is not conducive to an enjoyable Altador Cup experience. This new version has many technical kinks that I will explain later as well as some other issues that directly affect the players. This new version of the game is only going to hurt both parties (the staff and team for Neopets and its audience).

Some of the technical issues that could be solved, if you so choose, include general lagging, faulty AI and poor controls that make the game a pain on their own. The issues previously mentioned may be easy enough to fix, as you more than likely planned to already, but there are other technical issues. The major thing we, the players, find as a nuisance is the clock. The time goes down very slowly and by the time we finish the game seven minutes have gone by on an average game. This makes ranking up an extreme challenge because in previous years a game took roughly two minutes, depending on the skill of the player. The general game play itself is also a major issue. The controls are extremely difficult and slow while the AI uses that to its advantage. It ends up creating an extremely unbalanced game that can prove frustrating for nearly any player, whether they are talented or not in the game.

Aside from the technical issues, the game also provides challenges for players that were not intended. It has come to light that the left-handed players find this game nearly impossible because the only way to move a player is by using the arrow keys. A left-handed player would need to have crossed arms and a general difficult position just to attempt the game. The older players and players who may have been cursed with arthritis, carpal tunnel or other joint issues find the new game an extreme difficulty. The game now requires an uncomfortable positioning of the hands that these players may not be able to do, or just experience pain to do. Even if this game was meant to be very challenging, frustrating and time consuming, I think it is safe to assume you didn't wish physical discomfort that is becoming an issue for many players due to the poor hand positioning and extreme length of the games.

I understand that it is typical for rage to follow change, however some things were not meant to be changed. One of those things that should stay the same is none other than yooyuball. I understand that the graphics were changed a few years ago, and it did make the game more aesthetically pleasing and sparked little, if any, hostility. However, this change is very drastic and is a complete redo of a game. There are almost no similar qualities to the game except the concept. Yes, we understand that you put a lot of effort into creating this, however we would appreciate it very much if you simply reinstated the old version of the game. The old version will quiet the rage and fix every problem mentioned before. I fear that if that change is not done, many players will follow through with threats to quit. If they quit the site will lose page views that bring in advertising money, funds that are used to keep the site running and the families of the workers fed. In conclusion, this new style of the game is just not conducive to an enjoyable time, and placing the old version would benefit both players and workers. So please, consider this petition and explanation when deciding if you will keep the new version in place or fix these problems by using the old and loved version.

Sincerely, All of the players that signed this petition, as well as those who were not here to sign it.
