The aim of the game is to create a large enclosed area and protect the snow men. Points are mainly given for area. At least one snow man that is not melted must be surrounded at the end of each turn.
Walls are not complete if just corners of blocks are touching. In the wall each block needs at least 2 sides touching or adjacent to 2 other blocks.

1. Select SMALL game size. At the start keep restarting until you get your snowmen to be in the middle more or basically not too close to the edge which makes them hard to surround.

2. Quickly surround the front few snow men in a basic rectangle. Depending on how fast you are you should surround them without worrying about wastage, speed is the key not tidiness.

3. When placing the catapults centre them towards the front leaving some space in the fronts and to the sides. There is no need to fill the area with catapults. I limit them to about 4 rows.

4. TAKE OUT the enemy CATAPULTS first! Reduces damage. The wolves second they mainly get in the way of making walls later and kill your snowman.

5. As the game progresses leave space inside/oustide for quickly dumping unwanted shapes that do not plug the right spots. Like those difficult + and Z shapes.

6. Keep the front wall thinner and build up the back more. Why? The enemy can not fire again until his snowball hits, this increases the probability on more long range hits and less shots by the enemy.

7. Another way of killing left over wolves in surrounding them when building walls. Not sure if everyone has this problem but the game starts to respond slowly when your score gets higher or too many wolves/catapults are on the scene.

8. If you have trouble spotting holes another strategy can be to divide the main area with inside walls, the enclosed area turns blue so you can focus you search easier. Also before the round ends try to spot where the holes are before you begin. A good memory is handy.
