A Quick Note From Mali

Merry Christmas, everybody. Sorry about the site. I'm working fast and hard to rebuild. ~12/25/07

A Little Bitta Blog

Hey, all. A big hi there and hello to all you sentient beings out there, and to all the rest of you- the secret is to bang the rocks together, guys. This is Mirmer, the well's guardian. And for those of you who don't know, Mirmer's well is Mali's personal literary websource, where she and her friends come to post their work, NOT where you come to steal it. Mali is serious about her work, and if you take it, angry grizzly bears will pale in comparison to her wrath. Merry christmas to those who celebrate it, and a happy new year. Well, TNT seems to need to bang some rocks together, as they crashed the well a few days ago. Mali's putting on her typing gloves and is set to begin reconstruction of the well. She lost all the poems but she saved THE CASTLE and HAPPY, as well as the short story from her guild. They'll be up soon, and she'll try to do a few new ones for y'all- hang tight!

Hey, 'yall, HAPPY and THE CASTLE are back up, so is the guild story, also- there's a brand-new poem up with a christmas theme. Check out TINY ANGEL.

THE CASTLE

the castle looms above the town

and speaks of kings of past renowned

for lofty halls and whispering walls

the ancient lords of country crowned

the castle speaks aincient lore

of countless times of love and war

and countless knights who fairly fight

and words from oldest history's core

the castle tells of ruin fall

and time decaying lofty wall

the castle dies and silent cries

the walls set up a slow, sad moan.

TINY ANGEL

Tiny angel

starts to cry

skinned her knee

trying to fly

rubs her knee

stands up quick

flapping wings

I feel sick...

her wings are strong

their flapping steady

starts to run

yells, "I'm ready!

leans her weight

in the wind

close her eyes

ascend!

falls to earth

abrupt end

stands up quick

to try again

The wind whipped at the edges of my jacket as I walked through the storm. I couldn't believe I was doing this, who in their right mind would? and yet, here I was walking through Neovia like I belonged there. I tossed the wet locks of hair from my face as the cobblestones got slicker and slicker in the rain I stopped in front of Prigpants & Swolthy's, and considered going inside. I didn't really need to do this but... I really should. the moment for walking away was past, no backing out now. I pushed open the door and slipped on the marble floor with my wet sneakers. My arms swung around and around like Mill wheels as my feet shuffled back and forth squeaking chillingly on the floor as I tried to regain some traction to stop my fall. My body twisted around and I reached out to grab the mannequin to help steady myself only to have us both go crashing down on the floor. The mannequin hit the counter, causing it to break free from is neck, go flying across the counter to the accessories display behind it.. Cuff links, brooches, Tie pins and ht pins flew through they air like a buck shot from a hunting rifle. Prigpants & Swolthy's rushed over to help me up, making sure i wasn't hurt. The only thing hurt was my pride, I was blushing from head to foot as I stammered a apology. I went to help them pick up items from the display, now was my chance. I could easily slip some into my pockets to complete that stupid dare. They would never know, they would assume it just flew behind something or rolled under a counter. It wasn't what i had planned, no..this was even better. Problem was i couldn't do it. The kindly woman fussed over me to make sure i wasn't hurt and the man had brought me a blanket to wrap myself in to help dry off and warm up. While they cleaned up the mess i made the woman put some water on to make me cocoa, telling me that it was a terribly chilly and wet day out and I could catch a cold. Meekly i helped them clean up, then she brought me my hot chocolate As I sat there sipping it I noticed a set of cuff links sitting under the counter next to me, they hadn't seemed to notice it there when they were cleaning up and now they had their backs to me as they were placing the others back on the display shelf. This was my last chance. I could take them and the guys would think I was cool or I could leave it and have them call me a chicken and probably torment me for the rest of the year cause i chickened out. I looked back over to them as they set everything back in place, then glancing around the store I found it to be empty...the bad weather kept most people inside today.. it was prefect.. I reached down to pick them up, then.... i called over to the two shop keepers, "Here you missed this one" I told them. They smiled and thanked me for being honest and for helping them clean up...meh let the guys think i am a chicken. I rather be a chicken than a thief and a louse.© ~cowritten by Mali and by Dustryn

HAPPY

hey, you guys I'm goin' somewhere

she said to the ones who were dressed in gray

a place where we all just get along

and love doesn't go away

and they stopped in their smoke and stared at this girl

who offered a change in the ways of the world

some of them paused

some of them laughed

so she did too.

Happy!

that's where I'm goin

Happy!

and you can't stop me

Happy!

and you can't pull me down

a spark in her eyes

as she offered a ride

some of them smiled and went ahead

but some thought they'd stay and smoke instead

so some of them went

and some of them stayed

to regret their choice for the rest of their days

Independant

She slunk into the room like she wasn't too sure she belonged there, her face showing her fear as she saw all faces turn to her. A whole sea of faces. What am I doing here? she thought, At least at my old school I was invisible. The teacher was the last to turn, her eyes partially obscured by inch-thick glasses. Now all eyes were on her. She lowered her own, stared at the school-grey linolium floor tiles.

Ummmm, hi. Is this room 310?'

The woman nodded. 'I assume you're our missing student. You may take the seat here, in the front row. Do you have a late pass?'

A late pass? you needed a late pass to get into classes at this place?

Um... No, I, uh, got lost.'

You are a sophmore. That is no excuse. Go to the office.'

She finally raised her eyes to the teacher's, wondering why fate had chosen her for the honor of staring the woman down.

I'm new here, and I get lost easy.'

You get lost easily, you mean. Very well, you may stay. I expect you to make it to class next time.'

The rest of class elapsed without much incident. She crept into the hall, hoping to make it to her next class on time. A girl stalked in front of her, a typical highschool pop culture sponge. Abercrombie scrawled over her extra-large chest, hair fakely straight. A few clones of herself flanked her. for Backup?

Sooooo... You're the new girl, so let me tell you how things work. You pick your stereotype, but we'd like to give you the option...' She looked at the girls around her. They were moving with her like satellites, adjusting to her every position. The girl wondered if they were actual humans. 'Why don't we meet at lunch and discuss your makeover? We could do great things for you. We'll get together this weekend, kay?

So here it was. The opportunity to break in, to have a clique of friends of her own, to have the security she had lacked in her last school, where she had drifted aimlessly and friendlessly through the halls. To be cool, for once. She looked at the girl again. Do I want to be that? She thought. Do I honestly want to become one of her satelites, mimicing her every move? Is not being alone worth that?

Uh, thanks, but no thanks. I'd rather continue dressing like this. I kinda like it. see you.'

If looks could kill. The trio narrowed their eyes at the same nanosecond. The girl could hear the hissing of cats. They looked like they wanted to rip her apart. The, like automatons, they all leaned closer to the girl's face.

I think you're going to regret that,' said one of the satelites. Then, like marionettes, they all turned and strutted away.

The girl walked away alone, a smile tugging at her mouth, whistling happily.

The Perfect Picture

The wind rushes over my wings,

Waves crash into the rocks below me,

The salty sea sprayed in my mouth,

The sun shines brightly,

Warming my feathers,

Seagulls call out,

There voices traveled through the chilly air,

A meadow stretched across the land,

The flowers swayed with the wind,

There fragrance was sweet and tender,

The birds danced in the sky,

All went silent,

The only thing that remained,

Was me and this beautiful picture.

Alaska

I am standing at the edge

of the lake, spread

wide before me, as my

arms are;

poised for flight.

My compass is broken;

always points north.

I will never be lost.

I pitch my tent in the west,

but I will not sleep in it tonight.

I'll let the snow bury me,

and cover all the empty spaces.

The ice freezes quietly,

cracking and breaking the trees,

A raven crows in the south,

and I know its time to settle.

Maybe it does what lust does.

or maybe nothing at all.

its hard to tell from where I am,

sitting on my rooftop counting all the stars

whispering your name everytime one falls

praying to god that this time I'm wrong.

the stars are hollow tonight, and my words dont seem

to be hitting home,

but by forgetting you, I'll be forgetting the rest. yellow

coffee stained teeth,

midnight and the look of defeat,

as to the reasons I keep my fingernails short, and my

acquaintences closer

now I'm getting off subject, and your still not gone.

so maybe I'll just count the cracks in the ceiling to prove

to you I'm wrong.

Untitled

Plastic face, without eyes,

glowing tv screen

so beautifully the words you speak, you dont know what

they mean

a cenotaph, false loking glass

words spill from your placid lips, fall upon stunned

fingertips

left immobile from the lies you weave

Singsong whirring, softly hums, a lullaby made of

technological advances

wires reacing for my heart, eyes following words in like

trances

so entrapping,snagging,crushing.

you fiendish, thoughtless h0r3

stealing everything i have, i can offer nothing more
