Are you a so-called "illiterate" roleplayer who's sick and tired of the so-called "literates" bashing on you? Or are you a 'literate' who's sick and tired of the 'illiterates' flooding the Neoboards and ruining your perfectly good roleplays? Both of you, stop your whining. If we band together, we can begin to solve BOTH problems. Illiteracy is not a permanent condition. Rather, it's a stage that every single roleplayer goes through. That's right, all of you elite literates were illiterates once. So, instead of complaining, do something to help.
How you can help if you're "Literate": You can sign up to help tutor others and spread literacy across the neoboards. Neomail tobey158 and I'll add you to the list of tutors. Please tell me at least one of your roleplaying strengths, at least one of your weaknesses, and you may add which roleplay genres you like or don't like to play, so that I can better pair you with a student. Keep in mind that you should be trying to help your students improve, so don't simply bash their roleplaying without suggesting improvements. If someone complains about unnecessary rudeness from you, I will take your name off of the tutors list after neomailing you a warning. You may use any teaching style you wish, but I've found it helpful to have a one-on-one roleplay and point out any mistakes you see as you go along. That makes it easier to know what your student's strengths and weaknesses are. Always be sure to compliment your student's strengths, and let them know when they're improving.
How you can help if you're "Illiterate": You can sign up to recieve tutoring. Neomail tobey158 to be added to the list of students. Please tell me at least one of your roleplaying strengths, at least one of your weaknesses, and you may add which roleplay genres you like or don't like to play, so that I can better pair you with a tutor. Do not be ashamed that you're still learning the ropes of roleplaying. It can take a while, and it doesn't mean you're dumb, regardless of what any literate elitists might tell you. With a good tutor, you will be able to learn faster, and get rid of that nasty "illiterate" label the 'literates' might have branded you with. And when you're ready, you can become a tutor yourself.
UPDATE!! In addition to neomailing me to be added to one of the lists, you can join my guild: Xavier's School for Gifted Roleplayers
