No stolen content on this page!

Why are you here?

Are you bad at games? Like to spend your neopoints for no apparant reason? Have caught a giant Meepit eating your neopoints? If so, you've come to the right place!

Now that we've established that you should be here, we'll lock that pesky Meepit in a cage and let you continue onto the next section!

About the Site

This site is about the various ways to earn neopoints quickly and efficiently.

It covers many different ways that you can earn neopoints - examples are restocking, and playing games. New ways for earning neopoints are always being discovered, so remember to come back often to check for updates.

This site used to be a club, but due to popular (or un-popular) demand, it is now simply a guide. I am still looking for people to assist me with various aspects of the site, so if you are looking to help please neomail cristerwiz15. Thank you.

Updates

5/26/09:
So, I've been away for a while. I thought some time away from the site would help, that maybe it wouldn't seem so bad when I came back. But we'll see.
rebecca_han_shen at Purplefly has made me a button! I really appreciate it, thank you :) So remember to click on that link and request a button!

5/11/09:
I got my review completed, and that person insulted my personal work, my organizational skills, and just about everything else. I am deeply hurt by it, so much that I am thinking of shutting down this site for good. No matter what I do I can't get anything above a C.

5/8/09:
Yes, I know I was away a while, and I know you're all complaining about the lack of updates! But I have a life outside of Neopets, and it's a very busy one, so I can't update every day.
For some real news. Remember 5 Score February? It's back! With a different name, though. So Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays you can send in your scores 5 times! My finals are finally over with, so be expecting a few more updates in the following weeks.

4/28/09:
So, I got my computer back - for now. Bad news - the review I was waiting for? I'm not on the waiting list. And I don't know why. But, maybe they just forgot to put me on there, so I've left their site up here just in case. In the meantime, I've submitted this site to another review site so I have a chance of finding out if my progress was in the right direction.

4/22/09:
You might be mad about the lack of update, but believe me, I'm not to blame. I was grounded, so I couldn't sign on. So here I am, at school, getting laughed at by my math teacher, signing on so I can tell you I won't be back until after the weekend is over.

4/17/09:
Why no update yesterday, you ask? The site was still under construction. It will probably go under construction again later, but I'll wait until my review is done - yes, I finally managed to find a site that isn't closed and doesn't have a super long waiting list.
I got a lot of affie requests, and have accepted them all. I am still looking for game guides to add to my affie list, so I'll probably continue to add more.

4/15/09:

4/14/09:
I've been filling out affiliation applications like crazy. 4 have accepted me, and I have been put on 2 more directories!
Also, xepha has informed me that the NP ratio changes on the 25th of every month. Thank you, xepha!

4/13/09:
Brand new button! It's the first one listed. If it is popular enough I will make more like it and delete some of my other buttons.

4/12/09:

4/6/09:
I just got back the second review. Also not so good. I'm kind of upset, since this site isn't nearly as good as I thought it was. So I'll just have to edit the site a lot, and ask around about more ideas for content.

4/3/09:
It's half-price day again!

4/1/09:

Bank interest is rather low today, and you can't get your Tombola freebie, but that should be back to normal tomorrow.

3/31/09:
Unfortunately, Daily Dare is over! But never fear, Rosie and her Springtime Celebration are here to save the day!

3/27/09:
Surprise, surprise. I got a review back already! It...wasn't really that great. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little depressed about the results. But I have to remember some of it is opinion, and I'll be able to compare results once the other one is back.

3/21/09:
Brand new custom layout by cristerwiz15! That's me, by the way :D

3/20/09:
We now have a counter for our page!

3/17/09:

3/15/09:
It has just come to our attention that previous Daily Dare games have a glitch, where you can only send your score twice a day! This should go away at the end of DD, but keep this in mind while you are playing.

3/13/09:
I've decided to ask for reviews, so I found two sites that look pretty good. I know it will take a long time to get the results, but I'm excited anyway!

3/10/09:
Due to homework, I haven't been able to work on the site that much. But don't worry, I'm working on it - I want to get a lot more information up.

3/3/09:
It's half price day! Remember to go to all your favorite Neopian stores and shop there!

3/1/09:
Oh no, it's the end of Five-Score February! But it has been extended to cover today, so take advantage of it while you still can!

Key Quest

Key Quest is an extremely effective way to earn neopoints!

Total Keys Obtained
x 65 x 55 x 3 x 6
Click here for your own Key Quest counter by fokanna

1. Save all the keys you win until the end of the day.
2. Turn in all the highest ones first - all your gold, then all your silver, etc.
3. You might have extras - save those extras for days when you don't get a chance to play all that much.
4. Put all items not of high value into your shop. Put all items of value into your shop, trades, or into your SDB to have a sale with later.

CODESTONES:

Whether they be regular or red, codestones are an expensive item. They are easy to win from KQ, even on silver keys. Selling them at discounted prices ensures that people will buy them. To earn many neopoints at once, save them until you have a lot. Then either put them on trades as "10 packs", or have a major codestone sale.

NEGGS:

Neggs are also very easy to obtain from KQ, and are more often found on silver keys than gold keys. They can even be found on bronze and lead keys, although obviously the value of the neggs goes down with each key level. As with codestones, you can sell them in a major sale, or you can sell each individually.

PAINT BRUSHES:

Paint brushes are rather difficult to obtain from KQ, at least for most people. Some people earn them on their first few keys, while others may go through hundreds of keys before getting them. They can only be obtained through gold keys. Check the price of the PB before putting it in your shop - some are still unbuyable (UB). It is best to set them up in trades, and then advertise like crazy. Your best bet on selling them is to read posts and find people looking for them, then haggle over the price so they feel they are getting a good deal. Never tell a potential customer you got it for free.

Sales

1 NP SALES

1 NP sales are a pretty common thing on the shop ads board. The best time to find a 1 NP sale is in the afternoon – usually anywhere from 1-3 NST. In 1 NP sales, people give you a time when they will price all items at 1 NP in their shop. These items can be good or bad, or a mixture of both. As long as the items can be priced at a little higher price than 1 NP, it's a good deal and you should buy it. Remember, nothing is junk if you can sell it!

If you are attending a sale, please don't be a lurker (that means please post on the board), and remember these important tips:

1. Hit f5 to refresh the page at the proper time, so you can leave your mouse in position.
2. If you're on a laptop, make sure you're not using a laptop mouse. They make you miss items.
3. Don't waste time staring at the screen! If an item is gone, click back before it's too late!
4. If you really have trouble, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click there. Most people start at the top.

If you decide to hold a sale, I suggest you make something called a 1 NP sale train. In a 1 NP sale train, the person who creates the board holds the first 1 NP sale, but then other people will hold sales. They can be tricky to join up with, but this way you sell some items and get some items. Only have a 1 NP sale if you have a lot of items to get rid of and they aren't selling, or if you want to get rid of "junk". Please remember these important tips:

1. Set a clear time for everyone, and try not to change it too often.
2. Obstacles are against the rules, so try not to have them. If you do, make it like a scavenger hunt, or have your obstacles be very junky items but still for 1 NP.
3. Be nice to everyone! Yes, it is your sale. But if you insult the wrong person, you'll find yourself at a disadvantage later.

SNIPE SALES

I know that many of you are probably wondering what a snipe sale is. A snipe sale is a sale where you sell underpriced items – for example, selling a codestone at 1000 NP. The items are normally still a bit expensive, but worth it.

It can be rather difficult to find snipe sales, as many people do not advertise them as such. And honestly, if you put "snipe sale" on your board, no one will come. If you want to hold one, your best bet is to open it with a 1 NP sale, and then explain what sales will come after that.

Many boards advertising an SDB sale are snipe sales. But beware! People pricing things quickly for sales normally put the wrong price down, and can easily overcharge you! Make sure you know the value of an item before buying it.

HALF-PRICE DAY

You may or may not have heard about half-price day. Half-price day is on the third of every month (starting at midnight), in all the regular Neopian shops. Mark your calendar!

All the items put there will be at half of their normal price, and it's a great deal. Remember, this is for one day only, and it is based on NST (Neopian Standard Time)!

If you are in Australia or another country with very different time, you might have to do some date/time checking before buying items. Neopets is based in the United States (West Coast), and go by their time zone and day. Please don't make a mistake due to that!

IGLOO GARAGE SALE

The Igloo Garage Sale is found at the top of Terror Mountain. Usually when you enter the igloo, the shop will be empty. You may have to wait a while for the items to show up, but it's worth it.

Make sure you choose your item carefully: you can only buy 1 item per sale. There appears to be a 4 item limit per day; however, I am not sure how accurate this is. I have heard people mention being able to get at least 6 items a day, provided they shopped hours apart.

Most of their items are priced very well, but occasionally they have a badly priced one. Make sure you know the value of the item before you buy it – or at least, know if it's a good deal or a bad deal. If you see sandals at 55 NP (which they had once), it's a bad deal.

Still think the sale is worth a try? Then click here to go to the sale.

Restocking

During restocking, there is only one Neopian who will be of any help to you.

That's right. The Shop Wizard.

The most important part of restocking is making sure you have some of the lowest prices.

Warning: If you use the Super Shop Wizard, searching for many items may cause you not to be able to use it for the rest of the day.

The lower your prices are, the more chance you have of your items being bought. This is because you're not the only one out there using the Shop Wizard. If you happen to be listed as the lowest, they'll click on you and buy your items!

This is why you want to use the tips you find in "sales" to buy items at the lowest prices. That way, you can charge the least expensive price but still be making a profit. This is the whole key to restocking.

Games

Games are a pretty easy thing to earn neopoints by - but it's also tough to get a ton of neopoints from them. However, if you play a lot of games every day, you'll be laughing all the way to the bank!

Every so often, TNT changes the NP ratio on the games. This means they change how many points you need to get a certain amount of neopoints. Sometimes games have good score ratios (a score of 500 to get 1000 NP) or bad score ratios (a score of 500 to get 300 NP). These are just examples.

Thanks to xepha, I can now tell you that the NP ratio changes on the 25th of each month, and rarely on the 26th. Thank you!

Also, please remember that this is simply telling you what the ideal score would be. If you cannot score as high as this, don't worry! Send your score in anyway, because you'll still be able to earn neopoints.

Stock Market
That's right. The stock market is a game, and it's so special that it needs its own section.

I've managed to convince Nigel that he should help you with the stock market. It was quite an accomplishment.

While many people think the stock market is complicated, it's actually quite easy.

The whole key to the stock market is buying things when they are low. You are not allowed to buy under 15, but I wouldn't recommend buying anything over 20. Then, hold onto your stocks. When you are starting out, don't buy too many shares.

Those of you new to the stock market are most likely still confused. So here are some step-by-step directions, and some screenies.

1. Click here to get to the Stock Market.

2. Click "Find Stocks".

3. Once on that page, there is a small paragraph and a search box. Click on the link in the paragraph to view the full list.

4. Click on the name of a stock you want to buy.

5. It will take you to a new page, where you will click on the name again.

6. Insert the number of shares you would like to purchase. The lower the price is, the more you can buy. I suggest only buying one share if you are unsure about it.

Now, onto the screenies!

If you go see the full list of stocks, on the right hand side of the table you should see this:

Open is the price this stock starts out with at the beginning of the day.
Curr is the price the stock is now. If this number is under 15, you cannot buy this stock. If this number is lower than the number on "open", you probably don't want to buy it. If it is higher, you should buy it. If it is the same - buy it at your own risk.
Change Simply refers to the percent of change that has occured since the beginning of the day. It's not necessary to understand the percents, really. If it's red, that's bad, if it's green, that's good.

Now, if you click on "My Portfolio", you'll recognize these next set of screenies in the table there.

Icon/Ticker:

Icon simply is the logo of the company you bought a share of. See the gray triangle on the top left of the icon? You click on that when you want to sell it.
Ticker is the ticker name of the company. If you want to see their profile, simply click on it.

Today:

This is exactly the same as the screenie of the list of stocks. The only thing different is that Chg is the change in numbers, not percents.

Holdings:

Qty tells you how many of these types of shares you have.
Paid tells you the total amount of neopoints you paid.

Overall:

Mkt Value is how much the shares are worth now - in other words, how many neopoints you would get if you decided to sell.
% Change is the percent the market value has changed since you bought the shares.

Hopefully now the Stock Market is looking a lot more simple to you!

Edna's Quests
Kitchen Quest

These quests are often not worth it in regard to neopoints - they usually send you out for 2 or 3 expensive items, but only give you one rather useless one in return. But, every once in a while they give you something good, so it's worth checking these quests out at least once.

Brain Tree

Faerieland Employment Agency

You might not consider the Employment Agency to be a quest, but it is. What they do is they send you out to look for items, and then you must go back to the Employment Agency once you have bought all the items.

Keep in mind that you can only do 5 jobs per day, whether they be basic jobs, super jobs, or a combination.

If you think that the Employment Agency is for you, then click here to get started!

Basic Jobs

Basic Jobs are jobs that any Neopian can have. The jobs refresh every ten minutes, and go very quickly.

What basic jobs do is ask for a certain amount of an item, and then they'll pay you for getting those items. Usually, the jobs are worth it. Occasionally, however, it's a bad deal. You must decide quickly if it's worth it or not!

Here is what it will look like when there are jobs at the employment agency. The time you have and the price is on the bottom of the box, and over to the right you can click "apply for this job".

These pictures show what it looks like when you get and don't get a job. Be careful, they look very similar!

You are allowed to use the Shop Wizard to find these items. As soon as you have them, make your way back to the Employment Agency, click on "Status", and scroll down to whatever pet is your active. You will be able to click on their job, and then you will be awarded the neopoints.

Super Jobs

Super Jobs are not really worth it, so I won't bother explaining them in detail here.

Basically, you can get jobs with a job coupon, and the higher your coupon is, the more often you can use it.

After you use a job coupon, it turns into the next lowest coupon there is. If you already have the lowest coupon, then it just disappears.

Sometimes, you can get job coupons for free by spinning wheels. I suggest if you are lucky enough to get one, you sell it instead of using it. That will make a nice profit.
