Well, I opened Extravagance on May 8, 2009, on a rainy day. Little did I know I would be so addicted to reviewing! So if you are looking for a review please check to see if requests are open. Oh, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to neomail me. Rules 1 Only request when requests are open. 2 When you request a review, you are asking me for my opinion about your site, so please don't send hate mail. 3 I'll re-review you if you get lower than a 80 or if your site has had a major revamp, but you must have made significant changes. 4 Having my button in your "reviewed by" section of your site is a must. 5 Please be patient. 6 Always remember, my favorite sport is volleyball. Grading Scale I will grade your site, by points and by stars. You can get up to 100 points and up to 5 stars. So here's the scale..... MONTH DAY, YEAR First Impression- ?/10 This is one of the most important things that go with a site. Your first impression should look interesting, and unique. It should not look like a dried-out raisin! Make sure your first impression makes people want to look at your site more and more. Layout- ?/15 A layout needs to be unique, with good color choices for fonts and titles; it shouldn't be too, complex. Don't have paragraphs that are long and take hours to read! But don't have short, simple, and to the point paragraphs either. Also make sure your layout is not messy or hard to navigate in. Content- ?/20 Your content should basically follow all Neopets rules, and should be of high quality. Please make sure you put a lot of effort into your content. I will be grading it on how your personality reflects from it. Organization- ?/15 To me, organization is the key to success. I am a complete neat freak, so if you want to score good here, please have an organized site! Be neat and have a layout that is easy to navigate around. (Use scroll boxes) Originality- ?/10 Your site should show uniqueness, and tell about your personality. Your site should stand out from the crowd. Make sure your site's name is the same way too. Spelling and Grammar- ?/5 I don't want to have a hard time reading what people are trying to say! No one likes a site that is hard to read! Also it looks really child-ish if you have a lot of spelling errors. Buttons/Affies- ?/5 How many affies do you have? Are they good quality sites? How many places are you listed at? Do you have a good variety of link back buttons? Updates- ?/5 Plain and simple, just make sure you keep you're site updated! If you feel like you have nothing to update about, then change things around your site more often. Also make sure you put your updates into a scroll box! Also I noticed in your update box you tried to create a link but it messed up; and now your scroll box scrolls side ways too, so you might want to fix that. On the other hand, your banner that Cass made for you is fantastic! I really like the way it is blended. I also love your background! I mean, who isn't crazy for orange? Layout- 14/15 I really enjoy your layout, because of the fonts you have added to it, and your banner seems to compliment it as well. But it just seems like something is missing.....and I can't put my finger on it... Content- 28/20 You have reviewed 6 sites since The Beach House has opened! That is really fantastic, because usually when I review site first opens you don't get many requests. You review differently than must reviewers out there, but you might want to divide up your categories that you have; Like separate spelling and punctuation from the little details category. Other than that, I really like how you give a lot of advice when you review. Organization- 10/15 Ok, first of all you need to remove the outline on your scroll boxes that hold your updates, affies, link back, and etc. When you do that, it makes things look more organized. Also you might want to make those scroll boxes different sizes instead of keeping the same size for every scroll box. Also when I was reading you rules and criteria, I noticed that they were very long and it took a while to read. Try to sum up those things a little more. As I scrolled down to your reviews I really liked how they are neatly side by side and they are in a little neat format. =) Originality- 8/10 Since your site has recently opened this month, it's really hard to become original that fast. But I can tell you are getting there... Spelling and Grammar- 4/5 There is just a couple of grammar and spelling errors, but you are quite a good speller! Buttons/Affies- 4/5 You are listed at a lot of places, and you have a lot of affies! But when I looked at your link back buttons, there was only 2 I liked. On the first button the font would have looked better if white surrounded the black instead of yellow. On the third button, the animation was just too overwhelming. Updates- 3/5 Well, I read that you delete all your updates once a week. So when I reviewed you, you only had one update. You really shouldn't delete all your updates once a week. You should try to leave a month or two's updates up until the box gets hard to scroll. Also if you changed the sizes of the box and make it taller, you will be able to hold more updates in it. Return?- 5/5 Yes I will return! I feel like your site has a lot of potential and I love how you review people. Overall- 8/10 Overall I know you have a wonderful site. Everything just seems to balance out and you do a great job of running The Beach House. I also think you did a great job of picking out a name for your review site. ^_^ Extra- 2 I'm giving you 2 extra points because I really like how you review people and you have reviewed a lot of people since your site has opened. Comments/Advice- As I said above, your site has great potential! Just keep doing what you're doing now, and take advice I gave you to make your site even better! Go and pick up the award that says I scored 80-89 at Extravagance!* November 20, 2009 First Impression- 5/5 Well, when I first entered your site I was greeted by Agent 02568. I really like how your introduction is space themed! I really love your banner, and I think you did a really good job picking a layout to match it. Layout- 9/10 Your layout is so nice and neat; the only problem I have is that the layout is a little small. Also when I clicked your "credit" link, it took me directly to Killthelights. You should have a little page with different links so that you can credit the people that may have helped you with your site. Organization- 4/5 You are very organized and neat! I like how everything is precisely in its place. But you probably should keep your listings and affies separate. Updates- 3/3 The longest time you have gone without updating your site is 2 days....Good job! Originality- 4/5 I wouldn't say you have a very original site, but it's getting there. =D Just remember to keep your site updated and keep coming out with new things! Content- 10/10 You have very helpful content to people who are making sites; but you might want to add a couple of other categories to your content. In the future you could add CSS tutorial. Go pick up your award!^^ November 14, 2009 First Impression- 5/5 I can tell you have worked very hard on your site. You have so many people listed; I can't even count them all! But what really caught my eye, was all the coding you put into making Soroptimist what it is today. I really like how organized and neat you are and there is really nothing I can complain about. Great! Layout- 10/10 I really love how everything in your directory is pirate themed. The titles are so funny! Also your banner is amazing. I really like how you have a lot of grey with sparks of color around your layout. Organization- 5/5 As I said above you are very organized! Updates- 3/3 Well, I can tell you have recently deleted your updates, but So far you have updated everyday! Keep up the good work! Originality- 5/5 I think your site is very original!
