Chapter one:A Starry Night It's a warm starry summer's eve on Lutari Island, and a young one has just been born. The beautiful pup was everything the parents wanted and more. Not only was it female, but she was born with the most beautiful coat of fur. Not only was it blue like her parents, but it also had light blue star and moon patterns all over. A special coat such as hers' was considered to be a gift from the great Island rulers from long ago, and should be cherished as such. There was one thing about her coat that made it even more special. There was a star pattern on her right eye. The parents were so thrilled with their child that they almost forgot to name her. Then finally a named popped into the mothers head, "Mayberry." , said the mother in the most soothing voice. At the relief of having their child named and safe they head to their den at the top of the hill. Little did they know death was approaching. Chapter two: the Beast Approaches Its midnight and Captain Scallywag and his crew are approaching a mysterious mist covered island. "Gather the troops!" shouted the captain as him and his crew washed up on the west shore of the island. The troops were lined up along the beach standing at attention awaiting orders. "All right mates. According to me sources, they be keep'n the goods up in dat der cave! So's that's means you's best tread quietly, we don't want any attention. Is that clear?" "Yes cap'n!" they all said in a whisper. Mean While in the den Mayberry was wondering about exploring her new home as her parents slept. After becoming familiar with the main entrance where they slept, she wondered farther into the cave becoming more familiar with her home by the minute. After she was done exploring she decided to head back and sleep. As she made her was back she found a small hole just big enough fir her to crawl in. She decided that she was too tired to make it back to the front so she crawled into the hole and fell asleep. The troops had stopped right outside the cave entrance waiting for the captain's order to go in and kill the two lutari that had been spotted in the cave upon arrival. The captain didn't want them to all charge in at once though. The captain thought the two lutari were grads and would signal for help. "All right, I need me two 'o the sneakiest vermin I have here to go in and slay those beasts over in dat der cave." A pair of krawks stepped forward to volunteer. "We'll do it Cap'n! Aye, jus' say da word Cap'n!" They said. "And who be these beast 'afore me?" asked the Captain. The older looking of the two spoke. "I be Xual, and this is me brother Xukatok!" "And ye be me slyest beast?" asked the Captain. The brothers both responded in unison, "Aye!" "All right then, Slay me some beast!" shouted the Captain. That was his one mistake. Chapter 3: Death by Night The lutari chieftain was asleep in the woods, about 20 yards south of the den, when he suddenly awoken by a voice. This was no ordinary voice though; the chief had heard this voice before, long ago during the great war of the sea. It was no mistake that the voice he had just heard was Scallywag's. The chief quickly arose and gathered all his armor, and headed to the warrior barracks. He knew that Scallywag was here and it meant trouble. Xual and his brother had just snuck up behind the new parents and slowly raised their cutlasses high in the air for the perfect kill when Mayberry's mother had awakened. She screamed at the sight of the vermin, but her cry for help was cut short. Before her mate could even become fully aware of what happened, he too was slayed. "Fools! Ye woke 'er and let 'er scream for 'elp! Ye both will pay the price once we return to the ship! Now let's get out 'o here!" The lutari chieftain had entered the barracks screaming, "Assemble the warriors! Trouble is afoot!" "What are you talking about che-" The warrior was not able to finish his sentence due to a spine chilling scream. This put the warriors on full alert. Immediately the warriors filed out of the hut with gear and weapons; ready to fight to the death! Unfortunately they never were able to because Scallywag and his crew had already left. Mayberry was also put to alert by the sudden scream of terror. She hurried to the front of the cave but what she saw when she arrived put her into a state of shock There, laying dead on the ground, covered in blood, was her parents. She was so overwhelmed with the sight that she rushed over to her parent's bodies, and began to cry deeply into their blood stained coats. To Be Continued... ~Adoptables~
