That's why there are weave-arounds to get the cool clothes you want at the price you want. What does it take? About 15 minutes of your time to make neopoints, patience, and knowledge of Neopia.

How-To Make Neopoints

Alright, well, to buy clothes you need neopoints, right? Well, for starters, always do your Dailies, NO MATTER WHAT! Then, you find a couple of games you are good at and put them on your favorites list. Some mindless games include fashon fever, Slime Wheel, and adver-video. Know of more? neomail me.

When?

YOU ALWAYS WANT TO WAIT BEFORE BUYING CLOTHES! Just like the real world, supply and demand comes into play. Just wait a month and you'll save a TON of neopoints. Let's look at my friend Ms. Shenkuu-Inspired Paper Parasol here:


Day 1: Over 1 million neopoints
Day 8: 600K. A bit less
Day 31: 250K! W00t! You just saved a TON of neopoints. :)
Day 42: Unbuyable! Du-Oh! :o Looks like this thing is going to have a bumpy ride in prices, keep watch!
Long time since it came out: Hmm, this is strange. It's back where it started. This is because there is a shortage of them. Next time it becomes 200K: BUY!

The Newbie's Compact Guide to Haggling (and Trading Post Abbreviations)

Alright, so you want to buy an item but are just a little bit low on neopoints? Never fear! You have your guide here! (lol, that rhymes. xD)

Alright, so you, guest, are strolling around the trading post with your beloved pet. You see siome purple feathered boas for sale.
The first trade says "200K=AUTO!".
The second trade says "Lowest price on the TP!
The third trade says "150K....willing to haggle
The fourth trade says "No less than 1 mil pure!
And the fifth trade simply says "None.

What do those mean? Which will you buy? Here are the translations:
1st Trade: I MUST have 200,000 neopoints and you will be excepted IMMEDIATLY. No other communicatiion, don't offer lower.
2nd Trade: I'll go lower than any price you see!
3rd Trade: I want around 150,000 neopoints....but I'm willing to go lower.
4th Trade: I want a million neopoints and no less! (obviously out-of-date trade...)
5th Trade: You really do not know. The seller is either under 13 or was simply too lazy to fill in the wishlist.

So which do buy? Either trade number 2 or 3 would be best, but quite personally I would go with 3.

Let's say you only have 130K (AKA 130,000 neopoints)....what are you going to do? Well, neomail the person saying "I'll give you 120K and a mau codestone for your purple feathered boa" (good itmes are always a plus). They may say "Yes", hopefully, but most likly not.
They might neomail back saying "No, that's too low. No less than 130K", or somthing of that sort. If they say no less than 130K, you're in luck and can go ahead and buy. :)
But, if they say "no less than 140K", DON'T try to haggle, it'll get them mad. Just ask them if they can put it on hold of a day while you make 10K.
There! Haggling just saved you 10K-20K, or also known as 10,000-20,000 neopoints.

General Haggling Tips (or just buying tips) and abbreviations.


  • K=1,000 np. For example, 100K= 100,000 np
  • IF a trade says willing to haggle, go a couple K or 10K below their price, but still be willing to pay more than your first offer. Also, decent items help.
  • Wiz=Shop WIazard
  • SSW=Super Shop Wizard, premium only
  • TP=Trading Post
  • Mil=Million
  • Willing to haggle=They will linger on the price
  • Auto=MUST the the price, and if pay it, accept ASAP
  • Pure=NP Only

Buying Tips

  • Wait a month or so after they come out before buying
  • Single-Species Clothes are your best friend.
  • Use Starry Backgrounds IF YOU HAVE THEM as much as possible....they look great and are free
  • Put them into your closet by clicking on the item, then selecting "put into closet". You MUST do this to customize your pet.
  • If you can, attempt to RS at a clothing shop to get VERY VERY VERY cheap clothes. Also, if you can, try the Thrift Shop for FREE clothes.
  • Refreash the wiz for the cheapest price/ before going to the TP. Also check the Auction House
  • Paint brushes are going up, so in a PBs case: BUY NOW!
  • ALWAYS CHEACK IF A CLOTHING ITEM IS WEARABLE! See my Affilies for them.
Selling Clothes

Now that you know how to buy clothes, suppose you want to sell them? Here's your compact guide to selling them! I would like to thank princesskitty1989, umisora, waterfairy395, and kobura_doragon for helping me. :) If you have questions, I may or may not be able to awnser, but these people might if you ask them very nicly. ;)

So the first thing is: where do you start?. Well, this is quite simple: shops. If you already have your article of clothing, you can skip this part and head strait to the acctual selling. :)

Please note not all the clothes at these shops are wearable, so go to my Affilies and search for a wearable clothing guide. Be able to reconize a wearable clothing item when you see one. Also note some items, such as Kauboy Badges are cheap and/or HTS (hard to sell). Hopefully I'll get time to put a list of these together some day. :)
Also note of these abbreviations: VETS- Very Easy To SEll
ETS- Easy To Sell
VHTS- Very Hard To SEll
HTS- hard to sell
RS- ReStock
Rf- ReFresh
RR- Rapid Restock
MRS or Mini- Mini ReStock
GLB- good luck buying
GLS- good luck selling

Also, stock up on the oldies to see if they will become wearable.

Alright, so let's say you were sucessful at restocking. Now what? No matter what, SELL IMMEDIATLY!

First, you check the Wiz (refresh several times). If it's for sale there, copy down the absolute lowest price. Skip the rest of this paragraph. Next, check the trading post. Browse and copy down the lowest price.

Shop wizard items- For shop wizard items, make your item around 5 np or so lower than the price you found out was cheapest. After you have it in your shop, advertize on boards as being lowest on the SW. Good luck selling!
Another stratagy I found interesting was to make it a couple away from the cheapest so that it will eventually be bought. If your skilled enough, perhaps you might want to try that.

Trading Post items- Much more difficult than shop wizard items. You need to advertize quite a bit on boards. If the item is 300K+, don't accept any offer you don't like- but don't reject either! Instead, contact the person and ask if you can have- say- 50K more than what they offered. Haggle, don't "settle". Good luck selling your item!

1st: Invisible_Kauboy is the ultimate bad-guy catcher. It freaks everyone out when they see a hat and glasses floating in the air. The complete kauboy outfit is on him for ultimate fashion...but something else special as well. He has a was cool hat to show his daring side and glasses to help him see with his invisible eyes. He can even see with his eyes closed! He also put Malkus Vile behind bars. This is a hero who is truely original.

Hola amigos! My name'sMierzo. Well I suppose I've never givenany thought to what I wear, I mean I herd Alabriss most of the day, so I justwear what's comfortable. Oh you don'tknow what Alabriss are? Well, they're myowners favorite petpet, and believe me she has a lot of them! They're sortalike little winged unis Oh about myoutfit, well the hat's to keep the sun out of my eyes. I've also got sturdy boots and gloves for someof the really hard work I've got to do. And I always keep an extra rope tied to my paents, just in case one of 'emdecides to scoot off. Aequus_Leyla is a bit on the shy side and is a little bit spoilt by her older brothers. She is vain, though, and spends hours adjusting her flower and necklace.

1st Place in both Battle For the Winners AND October's!!!
Ever since he was little, Yellow_sun_12 had a dream: to become the best surfer Neopia had ever seen. He spent years acquiring the knowledge he needed, even hiring a special tutor to master the ancient surfer dialect. Then he traveled far and wide facing untold perils to find the perfect outfit, which consisted of shipwrecked techo shorts and sandals, and disco accessories. Finally, it was time. He rushed to Mystery Island and stared into the mighty waves. It was then that he realized the truth" he was afraid of water. He ran in terror back to the grassy hills of Neopia, but he refused to give up on his dream. He vowed to overcome his fear of water, one terrifying puddle at a time.

November!
Jhianni is a eccentric pirate who loves to, well, DANCE! By day he sails the high seas and plunders for his captain, but by night he can always be spotted at the hippest dance, club or contest. His moves on the dance floor make him a better pirate and his dashing good looks make him an instant hit.

Winter '08!
Repentaence, called Repent, is the wandering type. He's not overly picky on style or clothing, but anything he wears must be durable and not stand out in the night. He is quiet, timid, and secretive; but very strong. He found out some five years ago that a potion he drank in his travels had given him telepathic powers and limited control over the element earth with a terrible price tag. Repent was forced to relive terrible moments of his past, to watch them in his mind. All those things he wished to forget. He dosen't even know he's in this contest but please vote for him!

Hello. My name is Elyandir. I used to be part of the Meridell army, but as King Skarl's greedy treasurer named Snargan began taxing his people more and more, I realized that he was evil and from then on I have been an outlaw, stealing from the rich to give to the poorer peasants of Meridell.
