Poor? Don't know how to get items from the money tree?
Well you have come to the right place! I designed this guide after getting many neomails asking me how I was so good at getting items from the tree. In this guide I will tell needy neopians about all the money tree secrets and give some helpful hints so you can have better chances at getting something.
With enough practice and patience, you can get some pretty nice things from the Tree. I have been lucky enough to get paint brushes, petpets, codestones, and other rare items.

Before you read the rest of the guide, please make sure you are a POOR neopian. The main purpose of the Money Tree is not to gain NP, but to help give to the poor who can't afford items for their pets.
Always remember to DONATE unwanted items to the Tree!

| What is the Money Tree? |
The Money Tree is located here
Helping the needy, fending off the greedy has become the slogan of the Money Tree. It's the only place where Neopians donate gifts and Neopoints so that others who are far more deprived can get a little help. If you wish to make a donation or see if there is anything going for free, then be sure to visit! But don't be too greedy, as the Money Tree will remember your face and give you less of a chance of picking something up (especially if you don't need it) the next time. Oh, and don't even try the "It's for my friend" excuse. The Money Tree has heard them all.
Basically, the Money Tree is a place where needy neopians can go and get items for their pets. All the items there are donated by other neopians or the Money Ghosts.

| So how do I go about getting an item from the Tree? |
The concept is really easy actually! Just go to the Money Tree and click on an item. If you get it, a yellow acara will come up and add the item to your inventory.

If you don't get it, he will tell you to try again.
Oops! Too late...somebody seems to have taken that item while you were pondering.
The main thing is speed. You have to be very fast in order to get an item from the Tree. There are thousands of neopians trying to get items from the tree at any time. Only the fast and informed people will be successful.
You are allowed around 10 items a day from the tree!
You can get Banned from the Money Tree for taking too many items. Don't worry though, you are only banned for one day.
Don't be greedy, & donate your own unneeded items to the tree as much as you can.
Some key tips you should follow for better chances at getting an item are as followed:
Have Fast Internet: You have a very low chance of ever getting anything from the tree if you have dial up internet. The connection is too slow. The faster your internet, the better chance you have of getting the item you want.
Click the Money Tree image to refresh: ...instead of using the refresh button. Clicking the Money Tree will refresh the page faster. F5 is a good way to refresh fast as well.
Go for items near the bottom of the page: Those are items that were just added to the tree. You have a better chance at getting them because one's near the top are harder to get because they have been in the tree longer.
Use Scroll Wheel on mouse: Most mice that come with your computer have a scroll wheel. Once you refresh, use the scroll wheel to scroll to the bottom of the page. It is faster then using the navigation scroll bar.
Don't just randomly click: Most people tend to randomly click anywhere to get an item. This is bad because 90 percent of the time you do this, you are likely to get a junk item *like fishing stuff* Instead, train your eye to catch rare items like codestones, bottled fairies, or other non junk items. This way you can go and try clicking those instead. With lots of practice, it will be easy for you to spot non junk items right away after refreshing. You only have a few seconds to get an item, so practice a lot.
Times that are best: During the day, there are more people online so it is harder to get items from the Tree. That is why I recommend going to the Tree at night when it is a little quieter.

| How Do I Donate? |
Donating is simple! Just go to your inventory page and click on an item. Once the window pops up you can select the option 'Donate Item' and it will automatically go to the tree! You can also donate more then one item at the same time by clicking Quick Stock and checking all the donate boxes.
To donate NP to the Money Tree, Visit it and at the bottom there is a yellow box asking how much you wish to donate. I believe the most np you can donate at a single time is 5000.

| What are Money Tree Ghosts? |
Money Tree ghosts are quiggle looking ghosts that steal np from you. Usually they only steal small amounts, like 50 or 100. The np they steal goes into the Money Tree.
They are a random event so there is no way to stop them from stealing.
Sometimes you will get a message that says 'The ghosts have stolen all the donations.' That just means there aren't any donations at the moment.

Below is a list of special events where certain items are donated to the tree by neopets. These events happen once in a while and are random.
Balthazar's Mega Faerie Giveaway Bonanza
Balthazar, Faerie catcher extraordinaire, will sometimes decide to put 100 Faeries in the money tree. Rumour has it that this happens every couple of days. What a generous act for someone so mean!
Neopets Hint : Learn what time it happens, and you will have a better chance of collecting them!
Health Frog's Spectacular Vegetarian Food Giveaway
Health Frog is tired of all the junk food that pets have been eating in Neopia. Because of this he takes all the proceeds from his shop and spends it on free health food that he puts in the money tree. Depending on how his sales have been going, he may put up to 200 items in there, or only 10.
