What is a Symol?
Symols are cute, little, digging petpets found in and around Meridell. They are known for their digging in the fields where the farmers would rather not have them.
Where are Symols found?
Symols are found in the medieval kingdom of Meridell. Meridell is a once lost kingdom in the same region as Brightvale and the The Darigan Citadel. It was founded by Lisha and her friends accidently. (Champions of Meridell plot). Meridell is the most fought over part of Neopia, being involved in two wars, The Champions of Meridell and Battle for Meridell.
The little kingdom is known for it's nights, kings and magical past. It's most famous features include games (mostly including vegetables, knightly activities and puzzles) and for the Earth Faerie, Illusen who resides in the kingdom at her Glade.
How can I get a Symol?
You can get a Symol a few different ways. The easiest way is to search up 'Symol' on the Shop Wizard or the Super Shop Wizard. You can also find them on the Auctions and Trades. If you have time, than you can try to rs one from the Petpet Shop in Meridell, Ye Olde Petpets. One last way to get a Symol, though rare and tricky due to the consequences of the procedure is through the Petpet Lab Ray. Trying to get a Symol this way, will and can get you any of the colours, through luck, but it can also cause you to to loose the pet you are zapping. So, try at your own risk.
(Make sure, if you want a certain colour of Symol, you either search up that specific colour, or buy the needed petpet paint brush.)
Are there any famous Symols?
There is not a famous Symol to my knowledge (if I'm wrong, send me a neomail and I'll correct this), but there is a famous Symol spot. The Symol Hole is a small, hole located in Meridell by an old gnarled tree, but only believed to be dug out by a Symol, not proven. Neopians from all over visit this place with their pets and their petpets. The hole is too small for pets, but many have reported sending their petpets down the hole and having items brought up such as windows and other small items, including an avatar! (Petpets are not hurt in the event of going down the hole and there is no need to be worried about such.)
Do Symols have a special day?
Yes, Symol's special day is 23nd day of Collecting. (October 23rd, this year. I'm not sure if it changes though. If anybody knows for sure, let me know)
Are there rumors and myths about Symols?
As a matter of fact, yes. I have heard a few stories about Symols throughout the years. And, if you hear any that I have not listed, please let me know! I will do my part to let the rest of Neopia know about these little creatures.
The first myth is focused around the Symol hole found in Meridell. It is rumored to be the secret location of a rotten group of symols. It is said that they think up and set their evil plots going from this very location. The petpets that find it and go down it to investigate usually do not find the Symols, but when they do the symols have learned that a little bit of neopoints or a nice window ,and even an avatar on occasion, will cause the petpet to forget about what they've seen and heard. This keeps the symols evil plans safe from the rest of Neopia finding out.
The second thing I've heard about these small petpets are that they are more mind controlling than the fearful Meepits. So, as a heads up... I'd be aware of this, just encase you ever come across one of these burrowing petpets. |

Symol Directory Questions
How do I get my Symol petpet into the directory?
This is an easy thing to do! Just send me a neomail with your symol's name, pet's name that the symol is attached too, the level of your symol, age of symol and if roleplaying is opened. Once I recieve it, I will post it within twenty four hours and send you a neomail letting you know it's up!
