Neopets Army
Guild Etiquette And Policies

This is a page that is dedicated to guild etiquette and general guild policies. This guild is built around its activeness and building friendship. Both are really important here! There are a few rules of etiquette that we find very important to pay attention to.
Let us start with a very important topic, appropriate discussion on our message board is of the utmost importance since it alone can make or break the guild. The message board is a place for everyone to have fun, share neo tips, and things going on in their life. TNT rules state that there will be no conversation about religious beliefs or politics. In the guild this rule is absolute! No detailed medical discussions please. We do try and be here to support each other when support is needed but I want to remind you that neopets is a place a lot of us come to as an escape from the complaining, annoying, and upsetting things in life. We try to avoid conversations that people might consider too personal or might make people uncomfortable on the guild board. We are all adults here that deal with all kinds of rl situations and we all have different opinions, lifestyles, and ways that we handle things. Our goal is to make it so the guild it's a great place to relax. As far as sharing the fact that you are ill, as a general rule, if you are a person who is always sick or are dealing with some long-term illness with yourself or family, while we hope for only the best for you and your family, we do not need to hear about it on a regular basis or in any kind of detail. This brings people down and can cause people to avoid posting so as to avoid the conversation. You might want to save that for moments when there is a breakthrough or change that is of real significance, a true update. We always support our guild members building friendships and that might mean trusting someone with your thoughts, feelings, and maybe even a little tmi but lets please keep it off the board. Just remember this is our happy place and we want to keep the attitudes on the board as positive as possible.
One neopoint auctions are run in the guild every day. I would like to tell you the thought behind them. One np auctions are our way of giving a gift to a random active guild member. Basically they are a perk of the guild. While some people do bump up the auction a bit, and we do not consider that a big deal, we really do prefer that everyone bid one np. We are not trying to make nps from this. Also, we have lots of opportunity for people to bid on the auctions since they are run by multiple members and at various times. Some people run auctions daily, some run them on a certain day of the week, some run them on pet days or celebration of a holiday or site event, and some people run them randomly. Either way there is lots of opportunity for everyone to be the one who receives the item. All members are invited to participate in all of these auctions. We would like for everyone to please be thoughtful of all the other members. That is to say, have fun bidding, but do not hog up all the auctions. Do not go through and bid on every item if a person has multiple items. Also, do not "hawk" the items constantly, that is to say watch an item like a hawk to make sure you are the one who gets it. It is fine if there is one item that you have strong feelings about and really want to get. It is okay to do that on occasion but not as a regular habit. If you have won a few auctions recently, please back off on your bidding and give someone else a chance. If you won the last big item, again, please give others a chance. Now having said that, the point is to have fun and as they say, spread the wealth!
No raiding other members Habitarium! This is against guild rules. While we realize this is a part of the game, it is a part that most do not use or like since it is essentially stealing from someone. Many people who work very hard to keep their Hab up and thriving are very offended by this so please do not raid unless you have had a conversation with someone and agreed that this is something you are going to do.
Activeness is required in this guild. If you are just joining the guild, we try to be straightforward and upfront and let people know, our guilds goal is to have active members that let us get to know them and that get to know us, basically people that we can form friendships with. We understand that real life comes first (or it probably should!), and some members can't be on every day. We do ask that you make an effort to post on the message boards when you are on the site. At least stop in and say hi and let us know you are still around. If you are going to be away from Neopets for a while, please let a council member know. If you are going to be away for a set period of time you might add that to the calendar. We try to give leeway and make allowances for people to have periods of inactivity due to their life being busy or some sort of complication, however, as a general rule if you do not get on Neo at least every two or three days a week this guild is not a fit for you.
This is an adult guild and we expect our members to act like adults. Please avoid chatspeak as much as possible. As adults we are accustomed to reading fully spelled out words. If you have an issue with another guild member, we encourage our members to speak to one another, be open, be honest, be polite, and work it out where ever possible. It is also always a good idea to let a council member know so that we can advise you and are aware of the situation. We do not really want to play referee but a part of our job in over seeing this guild is to ensure that all members treat one another with respect. If you have a problem with another person, it should NEVER be posted on the message board. Doing this will get you warned, demoted, suspended, or possibly removed from the guild.
Any messages on the board asking for items and/or neopoints is not allowed. This also includes begging or asking for donations in your NeoSignature. No repeatedly mentioning sales in your shop/auctions/trades or repeatedly mentioning your goals and progress in an overly financial manner. I.E. Well, only 1.3 mill to go till I reach my dream goal. This can come across as hinting at wanting a gift and many people who are out to get what they can, do go about "begging" in this manner. This guild is filled with a fabulous group of very giving members who always want to help others. In joining this guild your goal should be to BECOME ONE OF THEM not to get items/neopoints from others/get all you can for free. Being in this guild will help you reach your goals if talking with others and getting ideas and information to help you is what you are looking for. This guild is centered around friendship and as I said, our members are very giving. If you are an active member of this guild for long enough you will certainly at some point end up being the recipient of someones extreme kindness in the form of a fabulous gift. Everyone loves getting gifts and there is nothing wrong with happily enjoying a superb gift, but it should not be your goal or reason for being here in the guild!
Asking for help with a quest is not considered begging. We encourage anyone needing help with a quest to please feel free to post it. There is almost always someone one the board and they will be happy to help you by either buying the item and sending it to you, or by posting the username of a shop where you can purchase it. If someone buys the item for you and sends it over, please be considerate and send a gift to them to thank them and repay them the amount they spent. This means the gift should be worth at least as much as the item they sent you. Once again, we are simply asking for general thoughtfulness. We all work hard for our neopoints and should not have to take a loss for helping someone. Personally I like to show my gratitude. :)

Neopets Army is an established guild with a full council. Our council members are all long-time members who have worked their way up the ranks and been totally reliable. While the possibility of a council or sub council member needing to be replaced is not something that we can absolutely rule out, the council we have now has been in place for quite some time and the likelihood of it happening is not very likely. Should we need to promote a new council or sub council member we will promote from those who are ranked Corporals. This is a rank that is only given to long-time active members of the guild. As far as running activities we do invite established members to run approved activities regardless of rank but you must first present it to council. We do ask if you are new, that you please take the time to get to know us before asking to run an activity or take on any responsibility within the guild. When a person proposes an activity they would like to run or any responsibility they would like assigned to them, it is standard procedure for several council members to discuss it and approve it first. If there are parts that we feel will not work well, we will try and alter it to make it work better, and then give the okay for a trial run. After having a successful trial run we can then discuss making it a regular (or random) activity and discuss scheduling. The exception to this is one neopoint auctions. All members regardless of rank or time in the guild are invited to run neofriend only one np auctions for the guild.
