You find yourself lost in a dark forest. What? Well of course you do! This is my page and I can put you in any situation I want! *grumbles about people nowadays* Ahem. You find yourself lost in a dark forest. Just when you've given up on ever seeing daylight again, a Darigan zafara shows herself. That would be me. I ask you, "what is it about me that brings you to my home? Is it my personality? My look? Perhaps you think I have something to hide. The most logical thing I can think of is that you found me through something like the beauty contest or a petpage of another. Either way, you're here, and I might as well tell you a bit about myself.

I lead you to my neohome. Once inside, I continue my introduction. My name is Mactosius. I'm interested in magic. Potions of sorts is what I specialize in. I can find your evil side and create a life out of it, or I can destroy it within you. That is for me to decide. My most noteworthy accomplishment is an aisha by the name of ShadowLagerinas. Perhaps you know her? Yes? No? No matter. Her and I had plans of taking over Neopia long ago. We built a vast army... only to have it crushed later on. With our army of darkness disbanded, Shadow went into her own seclusion. I am unaware of what she is planning. As for myself, I've been told I've gone a bit mad. I'm not mad... I have every ounce of sanity I've always had.

I toss a book in your lap and tell you to open it. That is what what you do with books. I think. *twitch* That is not what Penteius does with books. Penteius likes to piddle on books. He does that because he's a big ugly oversized drooling monster petpet thing. Nevertheless, you are going to open this one and look at what's inside. It's a photo album. Look at the pictures and read the captions. Now. Do it.

This is my brother Kirodorn. He hides a lot of things from the general public... his "evil" front is just an illusion. The only thing more unpredictable than his mood swings are... oh wait. Nothing.
Praedius hates being around others, but others love to be around him. Quite a grump, really. I think he looks like a girl with that haircut. Seriously.
Tharororn is big, bad, and pretty dull. She'll eat anything that moves. Don't ask me how a creature born of sea-dwelling parents has a pair of landlubbing legs. I have no idea.

Elebrafe has such a happy disposition despite her dangerous coloration. A paint brush wasted. Bah. A raver of sorts... or something like that. She likes those dance club... things. Ack.
Iaktu is definitely his sister's twin. Music is his thing. Rock and roll. Techno. Classical. You name it. He's also an all-around gamer, in touch with all those high-tech new gadgets out there. Ack again.
Elence... soon to be a king once that lousy father of his finally kicks the bucket. His younger brother tried to kill him for the throne, but Elence proved to be the stronger draik.
Lagerinas held a mighty evil within her mind. I am unsure as to where such a thing could have come from in this seemingly boring girl, but there it was. I was able to help it escape.

What a womanizing twit he is, this Jadeyr! He had the brass to ask me, me! the future queen-of-the-world out on a date. I should have agreed. And then poisoned his dinner.
Maerunis doesn't think before she acts. Wandering out in the Haunted Woods alone at night... well of course you'd be cursed to have to drink the blood of the innocent to stay alive. Psh.
I think Nikokyn is the most handsome zafara in the entirety of Neopia... too bad his sister has to be the way she is. I almost had him... I was so close. He got away. Someday I'll find him. Mhmm.
This... this is Nikokyn's sister. Her name is Yaiau. I killed her once... I have no idea how she managed to survive. She single-handedly crushed my minion's army... I despise her.

Deemontai's calm and collected... a dreamer, a thinker, and intelligent at that. If I promised him the sky, he'd be easy prey. I haven't tried yet though. I don't think there's anything useful in him.
I have no idea why Ellexias has such an eye for that other gelert. She doesn't have a chance. Bubbly in nature, she's one of the most irritating creatures I've ever met. And that's saying a lot.
Piraktos had wings once... but he grew tired of the sky. He tries his best to tell his friend Deemontai he shouldn't try to fly, but it's useless. He's a twit and I can't understand him at all.
ShadowLagerinas is the released evil from the aisha Lagerinas. She is hate in a physical form, and it's all thanks to me. She has gone missing... I'm still searching for her.

Proctoru is the "kyriibunny" son of Jadeyr and Maerunis. He's completely helpless and utterly pathetic. I could easily overtake him, but I don't think anything useful would come of it.
This is Xyeniko... she seems to be the kyriibunny Proctoru's anchor in life. I wonder what would happen if I took her away from him? Hmm. Come to think of it, that'd be completely pointless. Nahh.
Embellishments is worthless... a toy made by Kirodorn, given life by a spell of my own. He can't move, so he has no use to me. His rolling eye is rather creepy. It's unnerving when he's around.

Dduatta is blind... and she has HUGE ears. Maybe that's how she manages to get around so well? She has stolen my Nikokyn from me... one day I shall find her and make a frog out of her. Or something.
Dochuki comes from beyond the grave with my power. He literally fell from the sky and landed into my care. I brought him back... maybe he will prove to be of some use to me.

Trophy cabinet. Love my trophies, for they are beautiful. And I shall have more! *shakes fist*

Art! Look at them! They're beautiful. And mine. All mine. No stealing! Stealing will get you frozen.

Ah... and finally, something worthwhile to read. This is the first story in a saga known as the "Battle for Neopia." It is connected to the second part, found here. Eventually we will organize each piece better, possibly rewrite them, and bring them together to one page. But for now, simply start with this small segment and move your way around until you're craving all the pieces that haven't been written yet.

...Or not.

The Creation of ShadowLagerinas

Lagerinas, a striped aisha, watched me through glazed eyes. Her memory had stopped, frozen in time. She would not remember. That was good. I could feel the evil within her gasping for air. It was dying. I had to get it out. Soon. Now.

I worked as fast as I could. The potion would still take a small amount of time to complete, but it wouldn't be much longer now...

The cauldron bubbled, and I tended to my victim while I waited. This extraction would not hurt her... but it would leave her weak. Very weak. She was tied to the wall by her wrists and ankles, but she still was supporting her own weight on her feet. She was most likely going to faint from the potion, and falling wouldn't be a good thing in her current position.

I untied her. I didn't want to have to drag her out of my den once the extraction was complete. She blinked slightly, as if the spell I had put upon her was beginning to wear off. I didn't have the time to cast it again however, and her stirring concerned me. I had to work quickly.

Penteius, my ugly oversized droolik, cried out from where he was standing near the bubbling cauldron. Apparently it was ready. I lead Lagerinas' limp body over to a table near the potion and laid her upon it. By her own free will, she sat up again. This was not good. At the rate this was going, she would remember some of what was to come.

I took a large spoon from a drawer and dipped it in the churning liquid. I held Lagerinas still, as she was trying to avoid having to drink the potion. She was trying to twist out of my grasp, and I was beginning to become annoyed.

Shirianik! I cried, and she fell limp again. I didn't want to have to make her pass out, but her squirming was making things difficult. I force-fed her the potion and backed away. Now all I had to do was wait.

After a while I was beginning to think I had failed in creating the extraction potion properly. I went back over my ingredients once more to check. I almost dropped my jar of wing of karren when I heard a scream behind me.

Lagerinas was doubled over as a black liquid dripped from her body like sweat. It pooled around her, and moments later began to take shape. It wasn't long before two aishas stood before me.

First was the small form of the original Lagerinas. She had fainted on the floor, her arms still wrapped around herself. I gathered her in my arms and placed her back on the table where she had fallen from, then turned to look at the fruits of my labor.

She was wiry and thin, with jet black scraggly fur. Large yellow eyes gazed absently around the room. She was leaning a bit to the side, disoriented after being separated from her physical body. Finally her eyes rested on me.

Welcome to the world, my child, I whispered to her. She said nothing. I presented to her some clothing I had taken from Praedius' closet, and helped her into them. She was limp and shaky, but steady enough where she could stand without my help. I backed away.

What am I? she finally asked in a raspy voice. I could barely understand her. Her words where quiet, like the wind could wisp them away with a slight breeze. Yet at the same time, strong and immovable.

You are a shadow," I said.I have released you from your physical body. I've been feeling your presence since I met Lagerinas, and I've been working for a long time to realize your freedom.

She stared at me for a long time before turning her gaze to Lagerinas. Now steady on her feet, she seemed to float instead of walk. Her fluid movements carried her over to the unconscious aisha on the table.

So I am the shadow of this... Lagerinas? she asked. I nodded. Her hand moved from her side to brush against the striped fur. She recoiled quickly and turned to me, hatred burning in her glare.

I detest her," she hissed. Her spindly fingers clenched and unclenched in a fist. I thought she might, and wasn't surprised.

I led the shadow away from Lagerinas. It wasn't wise to leave them so close when it was possible they could merge together again. I confronted her at the doorway of my den.

You are ShadowLagerinas. Your purpose is to spread evil. If you ever need assistance, don't hesitate to ask me. Now go, my child, and bring together those with evil in their hearts. I assure you, there will be no trouble finding them.

With my words ringing in her ears, Shadow stepped forward into the mid afternoon sunlight.
