Hooray, Maatius' petpage has gotten a new layout! It features the colors of an ancient tome or scroll along with Roman numerals for the navigation bar to better suit his element and theme.

Psst, hey you. Yes, you guest... I know that most people are only drawn to this page for the adoptables, as seeing that I'm always neomailed about them and not many people add Maatius' patch to their link back section. Just wanted to remind you that Maatius isn't my only pet; I have several great pets who deserve some appreciation too. Currently Syrvali and Zythrel each have a petpage and they'd sure appreciate it if you visit. The Oasis
The sun beams down on the land below, bright and harsh, as you look for a source of shade somewhere in this barren land. Out in the distance you see a shaded area along with a pond. 'Ah, an oasis' you think to yourself and decide to go take a look.
Now in the oasis, you see various petpets among the palm trees and such. A Wadjet leasurely sitting on the shoreline, a Djuti perched on a nearby palm frond, and even a Surzard, an Aquatic Petpet, swimming in the water. While looking around at your surroundings, you notice a Lupe in the shade and decide to talk to him. He appears to be reading an old book, but you decide to interrupt him anyway...
Huh? Why must you bother me when I'm reading? I was trying to read about Sakhmet's history when you interrupted me and now I lost my place. Didn't anyone tell you I don't like to be bothered?

Sorry if I came off a bit rude...This is an oasis; a haven for stray petpets and my home as well. And pardon me if I haven't introduced myself yet; I am Maatius, the keeper of this place.

Chronicles
I had always been fond of history and mythology ever since I was young, spending most of my time around books, just as I do today. Not much time to make friends however and my parents were always away from home, so most of my childhood was spent alone. They were archaeologists who were very busy with their job; I believe it was because of them I came to love such things. How I came to be so fond of petpets is a different story, when I was travelling the desert in search for any artifacts the sands of time might have unearthed, I came across a wounded Djuti. I couldn't just leave the poor creature there so I looked for the closest form of shelter I could find. That's when I stumbled upon this place, my oasis. Seeing what a paradise it was, and the Djuti I took care of now my ever grateful companion, I decided to call this oasis my home and watched over the petpets that inhabited it.

Acrylix (better known as gryphen)
Our owner, the one who watches over us all, gryphen is a fantasy artist of age 16 who has been practicing her drawing skills since summer of the year 2003. Though she may not be the greatest of artists, she still tries her best to make petpages and art for us. She also takes care of me and her other Neopets, and quite well too.

This little dame here is Syrvali, who was introduced into the family not long before I was. A rather strange Buzz, though sweet and kind all the same, rather bright too and has interest in books like me. Her abode is a serene forest glade near Brightvale where she spends her time with the butterflies to accompany her. Why not go visit her, I'm sure she'd appreciate it. |

No Neopet has been with our owner longer than Vakomar has. It's sad to say though the poor guy was betrayed by his own hero, who took away everything dear to him. It really upsets me to know that there's people like that in the world, who'd take advantage to those who look up to them. However, Vakomar says as long as he has us and his Gallion Valor, he's happy. |

Zythrel, the brother of Syrvali, has had many hardships in his past. Born with the power of electricity, that which is hard to control, and often shunned by others which causes him to live in solitude, avoiding people and civilization alike. Though feared by many, we'll always be his family and accept him for who he his, no matter what others think. |

» Rajeb - Though in my childhood, friends were hard to make. I gained at least one friend; a Buzz archivist by the name of Rajeb, who shared the same aspirations and intrests as me. So you thought my friendships would be restricted to Lupes, well think again guest! He's the first, and so far the only, friend I've got.

For starters, lets begin with the petpet most dear to me, the one who has been with me the longest out of all of them...
» Thoth the Djuti
Gender: Male // Personality: Helpful, Smart // Favorite Food: Tchea Fruit
This is my faithful companion, Thoth. So named for the god of wisdom that takes the form of an Ibis (heron/crane-like bird). As you heard from the story earlier, he was the Djuti I found wounded in the desert, poor thing had a broken wing and I couldn't just leave him there. Luckily I've read about petpet care, so I didn't have any worries about what to do. After mending his wing, he's been with me ever since and is a quite helpful petpet too. |
