There's most likely a reason why you're here. You knew how the original design for the Mutant Gelert was, you liked it, and now you're seething mad that they changed it. It was a great design, and a really cool mutant. Not many mutants get the glory of being loved and cherished by all, but I loved the old design for the Mutant Gelert. I found out on the 23rd of August of 2006 that the design was changed. And as you might expect, I was mad about it. For those who don't know, here is a comparison of the old design and... new one...

As you can see, there is quite a bit of a difference, and I personally really enjoyed the original design, as do many of you. I, and a few others, have written The Neopets Team to allow us to have a chance to choose what design we like best. But They won't listen to a few e-mails, I can guarentee it. This is where I start my "protest." If you like the old Mutant Gelert design MUCH better than the new, then let yourself be heard! E-mail the team, and sign this petition. Maybe for once, we'll get to use our Internet Rights. Some of you may argue that the new Mutant Gelert looks better. I admit that the art looks cleaner, and better drawn, but that doesn't matter to me. What matters is the design. Maybe some of you even like the new design better. Well, I don't, and the same goes for several others. What annoys me most is that they WAITED a few days before Mutant Day to re-design it. How long was the original out, a year? After everyone was used to the old design and wanting it, they change it RIGHT before it comes out. Nothing is more infuriating... It's okay to like the new design. That's what you like. But what about us, the ones that liked the old one? We didn't get a chance to say we liked it. So they didn't care, and changed it anyway. People need a right to choose on this website, many designs have come in that people just hate. Some like them, some don't. But what about "majority rules"? What if the majority of people hate it? We need to be able to choose. If they don't bring back this design as the Mutant Gelert, than maybe they can make a new color that features the design. At least then, every Neopet can be "cool" and "fierce" for those who really like this type of Neopet. Becuase from what I can see, it's very popular. People have been Neomailing me about a sort of idea/problem that concerns the current Darigan Gelert. Apparently many people don't like the Darigan Gelert and would find it better if the old design of the Mutant Gelert were used for the Darigan one. This does make sense, and I too do not like the Darigan Gelert. If any others feel the same way about the Darigan Gelert, if you E-mail TNT, that might be something you could include. Keep in mind, I'm not saying anyone's opinion doesn't matter, so please don't get that idea. On the contrary, all opinions matter. If you like the new design, cool. If you like the old design, cool. But we really aren't able to choose. That's all I'm trying to say. I'm just stating how I feel, and you are allowed to do the same. This protest/petition is mainly so people who liked the old design can be heard. These people had no option to vote for the new design, and they liked the old one. This is why we MUST have the option to vote for color changes. We have to be able to vote for what WE, the PLAYERS, enjoy. If not, we will be endlessly disappointed with changes. Help make a difference, and let your opinion be heard. It's more important than you think. Update: I painted my own Gelert, Lyca, mutant, but I wanted to let everyone know I still want the old design back. But I made Lyca to paint him mutant and I wanted to paint him already. I was mad that I had to stop from painting him even though the design changed. But I do still like the old design better, and still are keeping this active. Plus, it should also help advertise the campaign. Keep in mind that I don't hate the new Gelert, I just don't like it as much as the old one.
