About the Agency

Welcome chipotleh to our Avatar Lending Agency, Avatarable. This lending agency is the fruition of my collecting goals here on the site. Since the conception, this agency has grown into a full fledged lending guild! The lending started with a solitary pink grundo, (a pound board adoption) and a few basic avatar items. Hopefully, we will be able to offer all (realistic) avatar items and pets.

Please keep in mind, that although we have these items/pets, it does not mean that we have to lend them. All it takes is one bad apple to ruin the fun for everyone. All of us do have things going in real life, and they will take precedence over anything here on the site. However, once we give our word, you can rest assured, you will be lent.

Unfortunately, we do not lend pets to accounts under 4 months. Feel free to bookmark us and come back after your account has aged, or perhaps check out some of the affiliates under the 'sitely' section.

About the Guild

A 150+ av guild that aims to help beginning avatar collectors or rebuilding avatar collectors. Lending items and avatars is one of our passions; and we take steps to protect both the lenders and lendees from any shennanigans.
We see ourselves as a small close-knit village rather than a big bustling city type of guild. Almost all of the guild members know each other pretty well, but we love making new friends!
Having regular board activities, fun polls, weekly 1np auctions, and just tons of fun are all fairly normal here at Avatarable.

16Dec2012 Added some info underneath the "extras" tab. Jhadein went for a visit, Gruva finished hers, Rosemmary went early, Lustatt never got any applicants, and Faradei will be shipping out soon.

10Oct2012 Oops, apparently a hiatus happened! Both the guild and the lending have been in hibernation for a very long time. A return to Neopia is about to commence. This site is being updated, the avatar pets are being shuffled, and plans are being made. Stay tuned!

07Dec2011 Welcome to Avatarable! Avatarapalooza and Paralzying have been combined into one entity. You can find more lenders than just Rose, so when she's not around (or just feeling lazy) you can still be lent those avatars you need.
As a guild, we are always looking for other awesome avatar fanatics, but keep in mind, we see ourselves as a very close-knit village, and we love each other very much!

03Dec2011 I have been convinced to restart lending. My crazy guildies have decided we are going to combine Avatarapalooza and Paralzying. This will make life infinitely easier for me, and make the lending better all the way around.

25Nov2011 My awesome guildies surprised me with a Krawk (Rosemmary) So I have decided to create a new/temp main to keep my interest in the site.

15Sept2011 Considered opening lending, had a few boards for apps; it didn't work out. Lending still on hiatus.

Received all but one of requested reviews, Not really happy with some of them. (Just because I asked for your opinion doesn't mean you get to be rude...) Will be concentrating on fixing some of the issues raised before gathering applications. So site is active, but lending is still on hold.

1August2011 Submitted an advert at the Catalogue, applied for some reviews, and started AC boards for lend apps. Pretty fruitful day ^^

Just got back from a road trip, but we are in the process of dealing with new furniture, hubby's job stuff and other real life miscellania; plus we will be going on yet another 'vacation' so I won't be on reliably until August at the earliest. -sigh-

1July2011 Unfortunately, my lending is postponed until further notice; IRL has been keeping me insanely busy (and I don't see this changing for the coming weeks) and I just don't have the opportunity to be online enough for a lend schedule right now :(

14June2011 So, my internet went down sometime Saturday night; just as I was about to update this page. I haven't been able to get it to come back up. And now *I* am out of town visiting family. Not sure if I should pick up the chains from the beginning or from those that were supposed to be lent from today on. :/ I want to apologize to everyone, as this is pretty lame.

31May2011 Not entirely sure where this month went to... Well, I am very busy irl due to the fact that hubby is out of town again so it's just me and the kiddo. Which means my online time is pretty drastically reduced. I am still doing my lends for June; however they will not start until the 10th.

5May2011 Please be aware that I am adding a new rule: DO NOT APPLY FOR A LEND UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO WAIT FOR AN ANSWER. I had more than 6 people back out on my chains this month due to the fact that they applied for lends from other agencies. And two confirmed lendees backed out ON their day one wasting another lendees transfer. NOT GOOD!
This type of behavior will cause your name to be on my private wall of shame; which means I will not lend you anything.

30April2011 About half of the listers have responded; and we have been listed as a recommended lender; so Yay for us! We also added a new section: About Us; which lists our new Staff member! Lizzie has been helping me out getting applications rated and now is an official part of Avatarable. We also hit the 2000 view mark this weekend, which I personally find very exciting.

25April2011 Just went and applied for listing at most of the popular directories, hoping to hear back from at least some of them soon.
Up next is some site reviews. Even tho I ask for lendees opionions in applications, I very rarely get anything other than 'Your site is great' which really doesn't help me much.
I also went though all of my applications. Waiting for them to be rated by my dear lifeline of an assistant/partner Lizzie. I should be neomailing every unanswered application I have ever saved within the next day or two...

27Feb2011 I'd like to apologize to those people I was supposed to lend this month, real life managed to mess up my plans on-site. If you are still interested in being lent in March don't hesitate to ask. Also, Muest has been morphed from an Eyrie to a Shoyru to offer more avatars, she no longer offers Sneezles.

Avatarable Lending

Before you run away screaming due to the length of this rules list; be aware that all of these are here to protect us AND YOU. On the Avatar Chat, several big ticket items, and plenty of smaller ones have been stolen in the last few months. These bad apples unfortunately make the whole lending scene more difficult and un-fun.

General Lending Rules

DO NOT APPLY FOR A LEND UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO WAIT FOR AN ANSWER. We will almost always confirm or decline your application.
DO NOT APPLY TO BE LENT A PET THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY APPLIED FOR WITH ANOTHER AGENCY. Doing so will get you blacklisted, which means we will NEVER lend you ANYTHING.
Being rude, annoying, or begging in any way will not get a Lendee lent. Remember, all the items/pets we have for lend, are due to our hard work, and are MY pixels. I do not have to share, or lend.
Please look over the contract, and when submitting your app include 'agreed
We reserve the right to say no to any request.
Please list all your sides, and main account.
Tell us if if you've ever been frozen/suspended, ever quit or taken a haitus.
lyk d0nT t41k lyk d1s kk? If you use plz because it is shorter than please, we will say no because it is shorter than yes. Bottom line please be literate, we don't tolerate chatspeak.
Your account must meet our guidelines. If we refuse your lend, please try to improve your account before trying again. (Feel free to ask us for ways to do so, or check out the help section!)
In your lending application, the Lendee must give us permission (by replying " agreed" to my contract) to use the Lendee's username in a screenie to show a positive lend, or to add to our "black list" IF our items are not returned.
Sorry, we don't lend to side accounts, no matter how active they are.
Please also keep in mind that 'tipping' of any kind is against the rules. It is against the rules to lend your pets or items in return for ANY form of compensation. People have and will get suspended and/or frozen for doing this.
Title your neomail with your favorite Paint Brush/Lab color to let us know you read the rules.
We don't accept vouchers from strangers.
PLEASE! Be patient with is. And don't complain about being ignored. We're not ignoring you, We're a bunch of busy bees.
In the section containing the contract you will be presented with two obvious links, and one hidden in the middle. Click the "or" in the middle.
If you suddenly need to leave, LET US KNOW and we'll lend you again anytime. We'll wait only 24 hours... after that we'll consider our pixels STOLEN.
Limit your neomails to twice weekly. Usually we am fairly polite and pleasant, but we tend to bite noobs, arrogant elitists, and that sorta thing ;)
Sob stories, kissing up, and not replying promptly are all good ways to NOT be lent.
If we reject your application and you have a hard time accepting no; thereby proceeding to harass, bash or defame us in any way, I will retaliate. I'm a Scorpio and we're famous for our revenge.

tl;dr crowd - Stealing, scamming, begging, chatspeak, impatience, and rudeness are all big No-no's.

Item Specific Rules

Please Make sure that your account is ready for whatever item you are asking to be lent (IE- Robo requires a classic neohome, Firepaw requires a neodeck)
We reserve the right to require collateral as these items can be very expensive.
If you would like to request an item, please send an Item Lend Application found in the App section.
If you request and are approved to be lent, we well set up a time for the lend. You will then IMMEDIATELY get the avatar and return the item(s) to us. This should take no longer than a few minutes. If we don't get the item(s) back, you will be reported and we will stalk you til the end of time.
Lendee will not lend the item to a friend, side account, relative, significant other, or some random stranger. You get the avatar, and return the item.

tl;dr crowd - Don't re-lend, be ready, and have collat.

Pet Specific Rules

Keep the pet/petpet/petpetpet on the account we lend them to. This means no sending to sides, friends, or random strangers. (unless, of course, you are on a chain lend, which you will be informed of before anything is released to your care.)
Send the pet/petpet/petpetpet along as soon as possible (either to the next lendee on the list, or back to us!)
Lendees will NOT refuse a transfer of our pet; thereby wasting one of our transfers. Doing so WILL cause a blacklisting.
Lendee will immediately change their active pet away from the lended pet.
Lendee will NOT complete any faerie quests, or other stat changing activities while the lended pet is in their possession.
Lendee will NOT zap, pound, feed, battle with*, remove anything or change the lended pet in any way while the lended pet is in their possession.
Neomail the next Lendee on the transfer list immediately after you receive our pet so you can notify them and make sure they will be online to receive.

tl;dr crowd - Don't change, steal, lend or mess up our pet/petpet.

On to the CONTRACT.

Avatarable: the lending contract

I, NAME (USERNAME, USERNAME, USERNAME, USERNAME, and/or USERNAME) the owner of the __avatar__pet__ hereby grant temporary guardianship to *YOUR USERNAME* for the period from the _______ day of ____________________ 20____ and expiring on the _______ day of _____________________ 20____.

Said pet will be moved from Avatarable's custody to the account of the *YOUR USERNAME* by way of the Neopian Pound's user-to-user Transfer Option.
*YOUR USERNAME* will NOT leave the lended pet as their active; instead *YOUR USERNAME* will IMMEDIATELY change it to one of the *YOUR USERNAME*'s own pets.
*YOUR USERNAME* will NOT complete any faerie quests, or other stat changing activities while the lended pet is in *YOUR USERNAME*'s possession.
*YOUR USERNAME* will NOT zap, pound, lend, remove anything or change the lended pet in any way while the lended pet is in the *YOUR USERNAME*'s possession.
*YOUR USERNAME* will promptly transfer the lended pet (as directed):

to next Lendee on chain lend list (listed on /~Lutryst).

return the lended pet to the owner's account - its home (listed on /~Lutryst).

*YOUR USERNAME* hereby gives Avatarable permission to report any and all accounts owned by *YOUR USERNAME* to The Neopets Team; AND permission to screenie and post as a warning/blacklist to other players; should lended pet not be returned to Avatarable in a timely manner in the same condition as received by *YOUR USERNAME*.
Should the lended pet be changed in any way that negates the aquisition of avatars; *YOUR USERNAME* will provide Avatarable half of the amount in neopoints required to:

return said pet to previous condition.

create new pet as a replacement.

Upon a successful completion of Lend, *YOUR USERNAME* hereby gives Avatarable permission to screenie and post for future reference for both Avatarable and *YOUR USERNAME*.

Unless for some odd unknown reason, I decide to lend you for free. Collateral = pure neopionts in the amount of current market prices.
(Which means I will not be listing the amount here. Fewer updates/less work for me.)

	Kasuki Lu - Heeyah!	Beat Kasuki Lu in a battle. To get him as a challenger, view the Kasuki Lu card. (I provide the card, but it is up to you to beat him up in the battledome!)

	Niten Hiroru	View Niten Hiroru's Neopedia entry while having the Niten Hiroru collectable card in your inventory

	I Taunt the Pant Devil	View your inventory while having item(s) whose total estimated value exceeds 5 million NPs. Refreshing is often required, and the event appears at the bottom of the page. (I lend 30+ Blibbles, so be prepared for 4 trades!)

	Robo	Put any Robo Pet in your (classic) NeoHome. The new Neohomes currently are not compatible with any Robo items. It takes 12 hours to build a room; have it ready!

	Codestones!	You must view your inventory while holding at least one each of the 10 original codestones. ( Bri, Eo, Har, Lu, Main, Mau, Orn, Tai-kai, Vo and Zei). Sometimes requires refreshing; do NOT use RED codestones!

	Lawyerbot ♥ Usuki	You must view your inventory while holding at least 50 different "usuki" items. Sometimes requires refreshing.

	Let it Snow!	View the Terror Mountain weather when it is snowing ("blizzards" or "heavy snow") while carrying an Icy Snowflake in your inventory. SN also mentions that if the temperature is below 0 it works as well.

What is collateral?
Collateral is NP or ITEMS given to the lender as a safety. It is usually more than the item is worth, be it in pure NP, or overpaid in items. Collateral is given as to prevent people from stealing the lenders items. That way, if the borrower does run off with the item, the lender won't lose any NP.

What is the appropriate collateral for -insert avatar item here-?
Originally, I planned to have all avatar items listed and their proper collateral but it is impractical due to the consistently inflating and deflating prices of items. Therefore, when lending I always check the current going price (via SSW or TP) for -insert avatar item here-.

Do you lend *anything* for free?
Short answer: No. Not unless I feel that I trust you, and that doesn't happen very often onsite_ I have been friends with some people for years and wouldn't trust them to keep my item for me; and other's somehow manage to earn my trust in a few short weeks. It depends on the person...

Can I have your ...
No, just no.

Will you vote for--
No. I so dislike people trying to cheat in the BC (which includes advertising on incorrect Boards) that I'll 1) report you for cheating, 2) block you, and 3) vote for someone else in your pet's category. Any neoMails like this I receive are classic SPAM --unsolicited, unwanted mail.

I can't remember if I have used my transfers for this month. Help?
You can check if you have transferred out a pet for the current month here.

How do I transfer a pet?
Hold your mouse pointer of "Pet Central" on your navigation bar. A drop down menu will appear, click "Neopian Pound." You will see three doors which are all clearly labeled. Click on the "Transfer" door. Choose the Neopet you'd like to transfer. You will then get a pop-up where you will type the username of the user you'd like to transfer your pet to and then you patiently wait for them to accept the transfer!

How much does it cost to send a transfer? Do you reimburse this amount?
It costs 1,000 Neopoints to send a transfer. No, consider it a 3rd person fee for use of equipment/facilities.

How much does it cost to adopt a transferred pet?
Adoption fees for a transferred pet are the same as the adoption fees of the pound. It depends on the pets stats, whether or not the pet is painted, and whether or not the pet is restricted or limited edition. (I will be adding the adoption cost info to each pet section sometime in the future...)

Do you pound lend any of your pets?
No, nope, never, no way no how. My pets are only available to be lent via transfer. However; some of my guild member lenders do! Please check the lenders section for more info!

How old does my account have to be before I can adopt/be transferred one of your Neopets?
If your account is under 4 months of age you are limited by the following:

You can adopt painted pets so long as they are: blue, brown, green, orange, pink, purple, red, white, yellow, skunk, checkered, shadow, split, invisible, silver, speckled, and glowing.
None of my pets are young account friendly; sorry!

You cannot adopt any limited edition or restricted pets aside from Grundos. Also, you cannot adopt a pet if its level is above 2.

How does your pet come to visit my account?
I will use the neato transfer option in the pound. This means that you must have an incoming AND an outgoing transfer available to be lent any of my pets. I will NOT pound lend any of my pets!

Safe Transfer: The new safe transfer feature that has been provided by neopets. The only way to transfer a pet from one account to another without putting it in the pound. Preferred, but limited per user account age. (0-23 months get 1 transfer, 2 years get 2 transfers, 4 years get 3 transfers, 6 years get 4 transfers, 8 years get 5 transfers, and 10 years get 6 transfers)

How can you lend so many pets/items?
Many of my pets are Double/Triple Whammies, meaning that they give more than one avatar. As for paying for all of this, most of it has been earned through hard work, but some of them have been gifts. Either way, please don't abuse my pixels by keeping them for yourself or just not returning them. It's not nice...

Can I be lent more than 1 avatar pet/item?
Sure. However, I have decided to limit to 2 pets and 2 major item avatars per month.

Do I have to join your guild to be lent?
No. However, my guild chooses which pets are lent every month, and get some requirements waived so are allowed more lends.

Why are you so strict and scary sounding about being lent?
Because I have to be. My pets and items are very dear to me, and I want to insure their safety and return to me. Many lenders are ripped off by scammers, and hopefully my rules and requirements will make this less likely to happen to me/us.

Would you consider lending me *insert per here*? i don't meet the requirements...
We might discuss, but it will probably end up on me telling you no. My rules are there to make lending safer and better for all of us. If I bent the rules, and lost a pet/item, it would make me unable to lend that item/pet. ):

Myth: Each user account only has one Incoming and one Outgoing transfer a month.
Status: BUSTED! The older your account is, the more user-to-user transfers you can use each month. (Please note that when you transfer a pet, there is a fee of 1,000 np or the use of the transfer machine & an adoption fee will still apply to the new owner.) In the table below, you can see how many transfers you get each month:

1 - 23 months - 1 user-to-user transfer

24 - 47 months - 2 user-to-user transfers

48 - 71 months - 3 user-to-user transfers

72 - 95 months - 4 user-to-user transfers

96 - 119 months - 5 user-to-user transfers

120 + months - 6 user-to-user Transfers

Myth: If a fire blumaroo has an aged fire (mazzew, harris, snicklebeast, slorg, etc) attached, you cannot get the fire blumaroo avatar.
Status: BUSTED! If a fire blumaroo has an aged mazzew attached, you get TWO avatars! Double bonus!

Myth:Accounts under 4 months are still able to adopt some painted colours
Status:TRUE!! However un-aged accounts can ONLY adopt Blue, Brown, Checkered, Glowing, Green, Invisible, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, Shadow, Silver, Skunk, Speckled, Split, White, or Yellow (as long as said pet is not LE or level 3+)

Myth: You cannot get a petpet avatar from a painted petpet.
Status: BUSTED!! Most of my petpets that I lend are painted. As long as they are aged, they have all worked without exception.

Myth: You cannot get a petpet avatar from a labbed petpet
Status: BUSTED!! As long as the petpet is aged and a legitimate avatar petpet, it will work. However, if the petpet was originally a cardboard newbie petpet, it will NOT transfer to another user.

Myth:You cannot get the snowbunny avatar using a 'snotbunny
Status: TRUE! This was tested and proven by humble_akara who owns a snotbunny that is 375 days old and did not receive the avatar from it.

Myth:You cannot lend for pure over the trading post; the neopoint limit is only 800,000!
Status: BUSTED!! A safe double trade can be made:

Safe Double Trade Lending
Let's say you want to borrow a Faerie Queen Doll (FQD). But, oh no! You only have 1.6 million pure, not any easy to sell (ETS) item collateral. You can't borrow it nice and tidily through a trade.
But don't worry! As long as the FQD isn't the only item of value the lender has, you can safely borrow without having a chance of being cheated out of all your collateral.
Let's pretend the lender has a Faerie Queen Doll and a Honey Potion (HP). HPs are a popular Battledome weapon that is ETS and worth about 800k (prices change, so always check so no one can run away with a profit.)

HP and FQD=Owned by Lender=Valued at 2.4 million.
800k and 800k=Owned by Borrower=Valued at 1.6 million.

Trade One
Lender Trade: HP
Borrower Offer: 800k

Lender now has FQD and 800k, still valued at 2.4 million.
Borrower now has HP and 800k, still valued at 1.6 million.

Trade Two
Lender Trade: FQD
Borrower Offer: HP and 800k

Lender now has HP, 800k, and 800k, still valued at 2.4 million.
Borrower now has FQD, still valued at 1.6 million.

Items and pure are traded simultaneously through the site, so this is a quick and safe method to borrow or lend with pure only.

Multiple items may be used in the same way, and more trades through the same method, but it requires more calculating. Be careful out there, and happy lending/borrowing!

About Avatarable

This lending agency is the fruition of my collecting goals here on the site. I will admit, rosemmary isn't my first account. But it was the beginning of the completion of this Agency. My collection started with Tacmatay, a pound board adoption. Hopefully, I will be able to offer all (realistic) avatar items and pets.

The site was conceptualized after seeing some of the other agencies on the AC. AALA, Diana, Pamela, Tannie and Roo all inspired me to use my pets and items in the same way. I had been collecting avatar pets almost since I started my main account.

On previous accounts I was also into avatar lending; but never got past the FQD mark. Icy was as high as I had ever lent. So imagine my shock when I was gifted a Zafara Double Agent Plushie, Mystery Palm Shield, Chokato (TCG), AND a Mootix. As grateful as I am for these gifts, I can not find it in myself to risk these items by lending them for free on a regular basis. I have seen way to many generous people taken advantage of and losing their neopoints.
I have never been scammed. Which I actually contribute to my refusal to lend for low collateral or for free. And also to my rating sheet. I think it takes does a fair job gauging a user's involvement in the site. You don't have to be an awesome gamer to score highly.
