Neopoint Alternatives for Neocash Items: Part 1

Run out of neocash? Do not have access to neocash? Think you can't customize since you don't have neocash? Don't despair! We are here to show you that there are plenty of neopoint alternatives to neocash items. You will be able to customize your pet the way you desire even without access to neocash. Even if you have neocash, you might find yourself loving some of these items even more or as good alternatives to retired items you cannot find. In this article nc stands for neocash and np stands for neopoint.

Classical Pillar Foreground (nc) vs. Altador Pillar Foreground (np)

The neopoint item actually predates the neocash item in this case. However, the Classical Pillar Foreground is retired. Both are lovely and can add elegance to any look. These are popular for Altador Cup customizations. The only difference is a slightly colour difference—the neocash item has more brown in it. You will be happy to do that the Altador Pillar Foreground is less than 5k!

Sunset View Background (nc) vs. Romantic Sunrise Background (np)

Sunset View Background is one of the best newer neocash background out there! However, the Romantic Sunrise Background is a great alternative. Both are gorgeous and have a similar colour scheme. You absolutely need to own one of these backgrounds for summer. Very few backgrounds can rival their beauty and your customizations will benefit. The downside of this alternative is that the Romantic Sunrise Background is rather pricey—it is a newer background. The price ranges from 110-160k nps.

Pretty Pink Wig (nc) vs. Cute Pink Wig (np)

The Pretty Pink Wig is a beautiful retired wig that is still quite popular. The Cute Pink Wig is the almost colour and has a silver touch like the neocash wig. It will match your looks that would require the Pretty Pink Wig. The Cute Pink Wig was just released in February 2012 so is still expensive but expect it to deflate in price to a more manageable price point.

Deserted Fairgrounds Background (nc) vs. Deserted Fairground Silhouette Background (np)

The Deserted Fairgrounds Background is an especially popular neocash background during the Halloween season. Though it has been retired for a while and thus can be hard to find. The Desert Fairground Silhouette gives the same location and spooky feeling! The only potential problem is that this background is effectively retired as it came out of the 2011 Halloween Goodie bags. So if you want this look buy the alternative quickly! As more time passes the background will get more expensive.

Black Fedora (nc) vs. Black Derby (np)

This item is for your male pets! Sometimes it is hard to find wearables for your male pets. A black hat is a must have item for all your male pets—nice way to dress them up and overcome the lack of male wigs. The Black Derby looks a tad smaller on certain pet types than the Black Fedora but it is still a great alternative. Remember the beauty of black is it goes with everything!

Gingerbread Wings (nc) vs. Sugar Cookie Wings (np)

Gingerbread Wings are one of the most desired wings available. However, like many sought after neocash items, the wings are retired. A nice neopoint alternative is the Sugar Cookie Wings. They give the same cookie feel and have some of the same colours (brown and pink). The neopoint wings are bigger on pets which can be an added benefit depending on your overall customization design. The Sugar Cookie Wings are around 25k right now.

Entrance to Fyoras Castle Background (nc) vs. Usuki Dream Castle Background (np)

The Entrance to Fyoras Castle Background is a gorgeous new neocash item from this year's Festival of Neggs. However, if you cannot afford the Negg Enlarger a great alternative is the Usuki Dream Castle Background. Both backgrounds have a purple/pink castle however; the neocash background is much closer to the castle. But if you want the castle feel and that colour scheme, the neopoint background is perfect for you. The background does cost over 100k sadly—think of it as an investment!

Winter Berry Fence Foreground (nc) vs. Snow Covered Fence (np)

Both of these are so pretty and go with a ton of winter backgrounds! The neopoint fence looks extremely similar minus the berries of course. Honestly the berries can be distracting so the neopoint fence is better for certain customizations. Also the neopoint fence is shorter allowing more of your pet to be visible which is nice since you spend tons of wearables and want them to be showcased. At around 20k, the Snow Covered Fence is a great option to have in every customization closet.

Easter Negg Basket (nc) vs. Pretty Wicker Negg Basket (np)

Even though Easter has already passed and the Festival of Neggs is almost over for this year, it is never too early to start planning for next year. What is better for those customizations than a basket? If you do not have an Easter Negg Basket you can get a similar look with the neopoint Pretty Wicker Negg Basket! Both baskets are filled to the brim with pretty neggs. Even nicer than the looks is the price of the neopoint basket, only 4k will get you this essential piece for your spring looks!

Long Striped Sleeping Cap (nc) vs. Sweet Dreams Sleeping Cap (np)

If your neopet is customized for bedtime, you will definitely need one of these to keep his/her head warm (and complete the look). Both backgrounds have blue and look very attractive. Interestingly the neopoint item is much more eye-catching (in our opinion) than the neocash cap. The clouds and stars on the neopoint Sweet Dreams Sleeping Cap remind us of nighttime so much more. The neopoint cap was an Advent Calendar prize so a lot of you should have it already if not the cap will only set you back about 2k. It's a great bargain!

Not having access to neocash cannot be an excuse for not being able to create beautiful customizations! Also we will hopefully help you locate alternatives for retired neocash items you cannot get ahold of. Prepare yourself to send some neopoints! NC stands for Neocash and np stands for neopoint in this guide.

Tiara Updo Wig (nc) vs. Slushie Slinger Waitress Wig (np)

Need an elegant wig for your royal/spoiled pets? These two are great options. The Tiara Updo wig is a retired neocash item that is in between a red/brown hair colour, while the Slushie Slinger Waitress Wig is definitely an orange/red colour. Both are beautiful updos with a hint of silver in them. The Slushie Slinger wig is my personal favorite of the two. So elegant and has a nice altador feel to it! However, it is retired as well—a prize from Altador Cup V. The wig is quite pricey and will set you back over a million neopoints but you get what you pay for with this beauty!

Apple Orchard Background (nc) vs. Piles of Apples Background (np)

Mmmm Apples…If you love apples (or gorgeous fall backgrounds) these are two backgrounds for you. The neocash, Apple Orchard Background, has a few more trees but the neopoint, Piles of Apples Background, captures its essence. It will be a great additional to everyone's customization closet! And everyone can afford the Piles of Apples Background since it is less than 1k! Wondering why such a great background is so cheap? You can find this background at the apple bobbing daily in the Haunted Woods.

Brown Corduroy Trousers (nc) vs. AAA Host Trousers (np)

We cannot forget all the male pets out there! Poor things commonly seem to get overshadowed by all the female neopet customizations. If your male pet needs a nice pair of brown trousers but you don't have the neocash to get ahold of the Brown Corduroy Trousers the AAA Host Trousers are a perfect alternative. The trousers keep with the brown colour and should be a basic necessity for all male pet closets. At around 20k, the AAA Host Trousers are very affordable as well.

Pretty Blue Plaid Skirt (nc) vs. School Girl Plaid Skirt (np)

Since we just did a male wearable here is one for your girls. These plaid skirts are sooo similar that you'd really have to know your skirts to tell the difference. The neopoint School Girl Plaid Skirt has a more prominent plaid pattern (and therefore more prominent yellow and white). However, the Pretty Blue Plaid Skirt (nc) still has the yellow as well. These skirts are pretty much as close to each other as you will find with neocash and neopoint items. The School Girl Plaid Skirt is r91 and so is rather expensive and will cost over 100k (at least it does right now).

White Picket Fence Foreground (nc) vs. White Picket Garden Gate Foreground (np)

If you are looking for a white white picket fence foreground than the neopoint item is definitely the one you want to go with. The neocash fence foreground is more an off-white but that might go better with some customs. The true white of the neopoint White Picket Garden Gate Foreground (wow that's a long name) will match many more backgrounds than the neocash item. Both have a nice flower detail on the sides. The White Picket Garden Gate Foreground was just released a few weeks ago and so is still very expensive. Hopefully, it will deflate as time goes on.

Holiday Town Background (nc) vs. Snowy Cottage Background (np)

The Holiday Town Background has a nice warm feel to it even though it is a winter background. The nice looking builds with the warm glow from the windows are so picturesque. Of course we have found a great neopoint alternative for those of you who cannot get your hands on the Holiday Town Background! The Snowy Cottage Background has a beautiful cottage that echoes the warmth of the neocash background with the cottage. The cottage looks just as inviting as the town buildings in the neocash background (though minus the animated holiday lights). The lack of the holiday lights however, makes this more versatile…Terror Mountain is snowy all year but they will not have holiday lights up all year (unless someone was particularly lazy this year…). The price of this lovely alternative is 35-50k currently.

Colourful Kite (nc) vs. Tangram Puzzle Piece Kite (np)

Despite the names, the Tangram Puzzle Piece Kite is actually the more colourful of the two! The diversity in colours helps the kite go with more customizations. Also if you are thinking that you really want the movement of a kite for your customization, be prepared to be amazed. The Tangram Puzzle Piece Kite is animated. Yes, you did read that right. The kite is one of the few animated neopoint items in existence! So really this neopoint item is perfect. Think you probably won't be able to afford an awesome animated neopoint wearable? Well you'd be wrong again! This kite only costs around 20-30k! So what are you waiting for? Go buy it!

Purple Warlock Battle Wings (nc) vs. Deluxe Dark Faerie Wings (np)

Dark wings with a touch of purple, that describes both the neocash Purple Warlock Battle Wings and the Deluxe Dark Faerie Wings! The major difference between these two is the sizing of the wings. The Purple Warlock Battle Wings are much larger than the Deluxe Dark Faerie Wings. However, they both have the same colour scheme and the same evil vibe making the neopoint item an appropriate alternative. A benefit of the neopoint wings is also that they are only 50-60k right now!

Neopoint Alternatives for Neocash Items: Part 3

Welcome back to week three of our series! Once again we will bring you a string of nice neopoint alternatives for neocash items. Our goal is to prove that you can customize even without access to neocash. Also even if you can and do get neocash, you cannot always get all the items you want so this guide can help you find items to replace those you cannot find. In this article, np stands for neopoint and nc stands for neocash. The neocash item will always be listed first followed by the neopoint item. Hope you enjoy our finds for this week!

Roasting Marshmallow on a Stick (nc) vs. Mini Marshmallows on a Stick (np)

The neopoint item seems a lot safer to us…no fire! We do admit that the flame looks pretty cool in the neocash item. With this neopoint item, even your neopoint customizations can still have a campfire feel. In fact your pets might be happier with the neopoint item since it has more marshmallows. The Mini Marshmallows on a Stick currently is priced around 25-30k.

Woodland Cottage Background (nc) vs. Ye Olde Petpets Stall Background (np)

We know the name says "petpets stall" but view the building as a cottage and instant neopoint alternative! Both have the forest cottage feel to them with all the greens and a nice path right to the door. The neopoint building does look a little more worn down but that could fit into your overall look better as well! The Ye Olde Petpets Stall Background will set you back less than 10k as well (so definitely worth it).

Shining Princess Wig (nc) vs. Curled Blonde Wig (np)

The overall look and feel is what makes the Curled Blonde Wig a great alternative to the Shining Princess Wig. While the Curled Blonde Wig is not an updo it has the same elegant feel to it with the curls. Additionally both wigs have a blue accent. The blonde colour of the wigs is very similar as well. So if you are looking for an elegant, princess-like blonde wig and cannot get your hands on a Shining Princess Wig (retired nc item) than the Curled Blonde Wig will definitely fit the bill. The wig is currently 20-30k (not too expensive).

Low Hanging Vine Garland (nc) vs. Hanging Vines (np) and Hanging Fronds (np)

To get jungle vines for your customization without using neocash, you have two options. The first option is the Hanging Vines item. This neopoint item, like the neocash Low Hanging Vine Garland, is entirely in the along the top of the customization (does not go to the bottom). The Hanging Fronds (neopoint item) has extensive side details and hangs to the bottom of the customization. The Hanging Fronds give an excellent jungle feel to any look but the Hanging Vines can be used in a wider range of looks. Hanging Vines are less than 10k whereas; the Hanging Fronds are over 100k.

Tunnel of Trees (nc) vs. Spring Path Background (np)

Spring is in the air and we have found a pretty alternative for one of the most wanted neocash backgrounds. The Spring Path Background is just as lovely as the Tunnel of Trees Background but is a neopoint item. Both have beautiful cherry blossoms and an inviting pathway. An interesting note is that the Spring Path Background is not zoned as a background but rather a background item. You might be wondering why that even matters. Well, since it is zoned as a background item it can be worn with other backgrounds that have a foreground portion—such as Pretty Tropical Lagoon Background, Cloud Castle Background and Green Woodland Path Background (watch for the meepits!). The zoning makes this neopoint background very versatile.

Green Leafy Wings (nc) vs. Earth Faerie Wings (np)

The Earth Faerie Wings have the same colours as the Green Leafy Wings. The neopoint wings have a bottom portion as well which differs from the neocash wings (in addition to the lack of animation). If you want leaf like wings though these are the neopoint ones for you! They are expensive however, costing over 100k currently. Fashion isn't always cheap.

Poppy Foreground (nc) vs. Orange Poppies Foreground (np)

Flower foregrounds are so gorgeous and are perfect for summer and spring customizations. Poppies are especially pretty. You can enjoy poppies even without the neocash Poppy Foreground with the Orange Poppies Foreground. While this foreground only has one colour versus the neocash background with several, the monochromatic item is easier to match to backgrounds. Add this neopoint item to the Romantic Sunrise background and prepare to drool. The Orange Poppies Foreground is just under 100k.

Adventure Helmet (nc) vs. Daring Adventurer Hat (np)

The neocash Adventure superpack has been retired for a while so the pieces like the helmet are not easy to find. The Daring Adventurer Hat provides a nice alternative to the Adventure Helmet. The hat has a similar colour scheme and definitely will make your pet look like he/she is ready for adventure. The only downside is that the hat is an old plot prize and goes for about 500k currently. There are some species with adventurer related species specific wearables however this is the only option for all other species (every species but Kougra, Nimmo, Ruki, and Techo).

Blue Snowflake Skirt (nc) vs. Snowflake Skirt (np)

Both of these skirts are lovely and great for winter customizations. Unlike many of our alternatives, these two skirts are different colours. The neocash item is much darker. However, both have a nice snowflake pattern that will work in similar customizations. The Snowflake Skirt was an Advent Calendar Prize in 2010 and is still very cheap. It will only cost you less than 4k for this alternative.
