I may not be that old, but I've lived a pretty interesting life. Lots of things have happened.

I'm a kelpie Peophin, in case you couldn't tell by my eyes. Kelpie Peophins are known throughout Neopia for being deceitful and dangerous, because we entice other Neopians into getting on our backs, then plunge into the sea, taking our unfortunate victim with us. But I'm past that now.

I was born to a Tyrannian mother in the sea off Brightvale, and never knew my father. Once I was several months old, my mother told me to go take my first victim. So I stalked the coastline for a few weeks, hoping to catch some human or Neopet alone and off-guard, and thus earn an easy meal.

After a few weeks, I got lucky. An adult human male was alone on the beach, just staring out at the ocean. I came ashore and did my best to act friendly and innocent. He seemed to be buying my act, so I asked if he'd like to go for a ride with me. But instead of climbing onto my back, he drew a sword and took me captive. He gave me a choice: I could go home with him and join his family, or he would dispose of me right then and there. I was so scared that I immediately took his offer of a new home with him.

It took a little more than a week of traveling until the human and I reached the Lost Desert, and his Neohome. For good measure, the human tied me up every time we stopped for the night, and kept me on a short lead line during the day. But I was beginning to warm up to him.

Once we reached his Neohome, he introduced himself as BlackGhoulmon. And I met his other Neopet: Urasina the Uni. She was so kind and friendly that I loved her right away. It took another several days before BlackGhoulmon and I were on good terms with each other, but once we were, I had a home and family that I would never want to leave.

But life wasn't perfect. My kelpie instincts were still there, and one day, the urge to take BlackGhoulmon as a victim overwhelmed my reason, and I attacked him. He blocked my sudden strike and launched a high-speed right hook that knocked me out cold. When I woke up, I felt different... like I was no longer a kelpie. As I looked myself over, I saw blue shackles on my legs and tail. BlackGhoulmon explained that they were forged by a water faerie, and specially enchanted to repress my destructive instincts. I was so confused for the next few days as I felt my previous personality, one of strength and viciousness, being sealed away. I became almost the total opposite of what I once was; shy, quiet, and easily startled. I even tried to get my shackles off, but I only wound up hurting myself. BlackGhoulmon told me that he was the only creature on Neopia who could remove them now. By that time, though, I had accepted that my change in personality was the price I had to pay for the domesticated life that I loved so much. It's a price I'll gladly pay ten times over.

So that explains my distant past. But there have been some other unusual events in my life since then.

You know how Peophins can float when out of water, right? Well, even as old as I am, I still can't do it. But I found out that my magical talents lie in other areas, specifically, lightning magic. I once found an old spellbook and had several weeks of fun with it. But I got overconfident, and paid the price…

Years ago, BlackGhoulmon and another human friend of his stole a pair of experimental starfighters off the Virtupets Space Station. He kept one for himself, which he repainted and renamed "Desert Guardian." But in order for the fighter to perform at maximum ability, the exhaust vents need to be free of any debris. And in the Lost Desert, sand blows into the vents all the time. BlackGhoulmon often has to spend a half-hour or more cleaning out the vents before using the fighter.

After seeing him clean the vents countless times, I offered to try casting a spell I had learned: a spell that could shrink an object. After all, if I could shrink the Desert Guardian, we could keep it in the house, away from the blowing sand, and just enlarge it again when needed. He agreed to let me try, but I could tell that he was worried. Urasina was too. But I felt like I could do this.

I began to cast the spell, and at first, it was working. But then... THEN it was that I spoke one word incorrectly... And the spell basically blew up in my face. When the magic backlash faded, I was the size of a plushie. And my spell book was destroyed.

I was devastated. Without my spell book, I couldn't get back to normal size. And that book was so rare that the odds of me ever getting another one were practically zero. But I didn't give up. I resolved to study magic more, so that eventually I could devise a spell that would bring me back to normal size.

Being a plushie-sized Peophin opened my eyes to a ton of new dangers. Petpets were eager to chew on me, and going anywhere was nearly impossible, as I was so slow dragging myself along. But BlackGhoulmon came up with a solution for the first issue. He had a tiny spear forged for me, and I enchanted it with lightning magic. That spear became Thundacrus, the magical thunder lance. I could not only poke anything that tried to mess with me, but Thundacrus' lightning magic could inflict a shock potent enough to paralyze a fully-grown human, or worse.

As for getting around, that was solved by my Petpet, Metronome the Adagio. He was just big enough that I could lie on his keyboard, and he'd drive me wherever I asked him to. As a matter of fact, he almost never let me out of his sight. Kind of odd, don't you think? A Petpet watching over a Neopet... But it worked for me.

It took me two long years to finally devise a spell to return to normal size. And when I successfully pulled it off, I brought along those two years' worth of magical training, specifically in lightning magic. I had become a rather adept mage.

Once I was back to normal size, I kept studying magic, hoping to one day be as strong as my mighty sister Urasina. But physical combat was not my forte; slinging spells worked better for me. I also taught myself to dance, and soon I was very good at it. Whether in quad form or in human form, my family said I was an excellent dancer.

That got me thinking: could I merge my magic with my dancing? I worked on a few ideas for about a week, then tried them out. It worked! After testing one lightning spell, I did a special dance I devised and cast the spell again. It was much stronger. Soon I had developed dances that healed, that protected, that boosted strength, and even a "death dance" that unleashed enough power to take down an opponent in one blow.

Being a Peophin, being attuned to lightning magic, and being a dancer may seem like an odd combination. But it works, and I enjoy using those disparate elements in my fighting style, or even to entertain my family and friends.

Two of my siblings, Urasina and Nayrem, hold down jobs to help BlackGhoulmon out with expenses and to have a little spending money on hand. Urasina, and Titance for that matter, are mercenaries, and quite well-known around here. Urasina also runs her own arena circuit, for Unis only. And Nayrem works as a librarian in Sahkmet. It wasn't all that long ago that I began to want to have a job too. When this resort opened a couple of years ago, it wasn't very well-known. But over time, it's become fairly popular, so when the staff sent out a request for lifeguards, I responded and was hired.

My main duty, like all lifeguards, is to watch over the Neopians on the beach, saving anyone who gets in trouble while out swimming. But my abilities with lightning magic, plus my training as a fighter, made it so I'm the resort's primary interceptor. When Jetsams or other troubles, such as pirates, enter the area, I'm the one who goes out and destroys them. A few good bolts of lightning will sink even the sturdiest ship, and since water is hypercondutive to electricity, it doesn't take much magical power to bring down threats to our guests.

A "Ludroth" is an aquatic carnivore from a faraway land. The females are smaller, maybe seven feet long or so, and are well-known for being merciless when an intruder comes too close. They live in bands around a single alpha male, who is many times larger than the females. The male is called a "Royal Ludroth" due to his size and power.

Ludroth wasn't my name originally. It's the name BlackGhoulmon gave me. He said it suits my personality, but there's another reason too. When I leave the water, I make a fantastic leap and belly-flop onto the land, skidding several feet when I touch down. Apparently, the actual beast called the Ludroth does the same thing!

My studies of lightning magic have been paying off. I have several abilities I can rely on now.

Ability to set off a harmless display of electricity.

Ability to zap a nearby target with a weak, mostly harmless jolt of electricity.

Ability to fire a barrage of tiny thunder orbs at a target.

Ability to fire jags of lightning at a target.

Ability to charge Thundacrus with lightning magic and throw it at a target. Thundacrus will lodge in the target and damage it for a few seconds before returning.

Ability to use Five Point Bind. Target will be immobilized with countless tiny shocks from all directions.

Ability to charge Thundacrus with lightning magic, then spear a target. Target will explode from sheer magical overload.

Ability to curl in a tight ball, then unleash massive blasts of electricity that engulf the surrounding area. Quad form only. Underwater only.

Ability to charge self with lightning and slide into opponents, knocking them away and zapping them. Quad form only. On land only.

Ability to pick up and move objects with harmless jags of lightning.

Ability to charge self with lightning and ram opponents while spinning at high speed. Quad form only. Underwater only.

Ability to grab opponents by the throat and overload their nervous systems, slowly weakening them until they can no longer stand up or fight. Human form only.

Ability to coat hands or feet with lightning, and punch or kick opponent. Human form only.

Ability to zap opponents with constant stream of lightning. Opponents can be picked up, moved, and even thrown around. Human form only. On land only.

Ability to stand ground and spin Thundacrus to deflect incoming projectiles and magic. Human form only. On land only.

Ability to call down lightning on distant targets. On land only.

Ability to drain electricity from electronic objects.

Ability to summon a swarm of electric eels. Eels will attack opponents or provide additional power for summoner. Underwater only.

Ability to recharge electronic objects.

Ability to restore used magic by draining electricity from objects or being hit by lightning.

Ability to manipulate electricity flowing through electronic objects. Can reprogram them or gain access to protected information that would normally require security clearance.

Ability to harpoon opponents with jags of lightning. Opponents can be thrown or dragged around. Underwater only.

Ability to harpoon opponents with jags of lightning, then touch an ally and drain the opponent's energy into the ally, restoring their energy.

Ability to supercharge the air, enabling it to support some weight, such as slowing a falling creature. On land only.

Ability to "tag" a location with magic.

Ability to "ride the lightning" to a nearby tagged location. Near-instantaneous travel over moderate distances.

Ability to sanctify a tagged location. Enemies, spells, and projectiles cannot enter the sanctified area. Allies within the area are protected from all harm.

Shield Dance: A five-second dance that raises a magical shield, deflecting the next three incoming attacks.

Healer Dance: A ten-second dance that uses the power of a creature's nervous system to heal any allies who see it.

Power Dance: A five-second dance that increases the power of all allies' next three attacks.

Death Dance: A thirty-second dance that build immense power, then can be channeled into an opponent to instantly slay them.

Blast Dance: A ten-second dance that sets off a magical explosion around the dancer. The explosion damages opponents while granting allies enhanced armor.

Armor Dance: A ten-second dance that grants allies magical armor that reduces incoming damage and blocks the next spell cast on them by an opponent.
