Character

Lucky was born to a rich family, who treated her like a doll. She was only used for looking pretty, so her family often dressed her up in cute dresses and what not, but she was never allowed to say a word. Because of this, she never developed strong attachments to anyone in her family, and was just a trophy image.

She did however, admire art in it's beauty, as it didn't require talking or movement. Her family were huge art dealers, which was how they managed their income, selling and buying famous paintings.

However, after a certain event (read History section) Lucky was left legally blind in one eye, ruining her 'perfect doll image'. Other situations also occurred, as the family later finds out Lucky is not their legitimate child; that their real child died at birth and the servants switched in another child born that day to another servent.

Lucky had the gift of seeing beauty, as she was born with it (which is why she loves art so much). After her injury, her gift compensated by transferring completely to her injured eye, instead of being evenly distributed across both eyes. This resulted in her power being more concentrated in her left eye, and Lucky could begin to see not only the true beauty of things, but everything's true nature (such as if a person is really kind at heart or whatnot). Her eye can see outer beauty as well as inner beauty.

Character History

Though Lucky came from a rich family, she did not enjoy the luxuries as one may think. She was only used as a pretty dress up doll for her family to make them look good and to help the business. When she wasn't being useful, she was locked up in the house. This was because her family was paranoid, wanting to preserve their "doll" to the best of their ability as well as preventing escape and intruders from "contaminating" her.

One day, a man by the name of Tom expressed interest in a couple of art pieces that her family was selling. As usual, she was required to stand around and look pretty, but not to speak. On this day, the art was being displayed outside in the gardens, but it was really chilly.

Tom, who later reveals himself to be a simple musician, spots Lucky and asks her if she is part of the exhibit and is up for sale (jokingly out of boredom). Because she does not reply, Tom believes she's just another obedient child that the family is using. Because it is cold he hands her his red scarf, which she accepts out of surprise and wears to this day.

Afterwards, certain circumstances reveal that Lucky, the "doll" is not the family's legitimate child, but was in fact born to a maid on the same day the lady gave birth to her own child. The real child died at birth, but the servants were too scared to reveal the news to their ruthless masters, so they switched Lucky in.

Out of anger, her parents abused her. She tried to defend herself and even run off, but this just caused them to be more angered. She managed to make it out of their large mansion and headed into the forest. Their hired body guard henchman on the scene at the time were ordered to hunt her down and kill her.

As she barely made it to the trees, one of the guards shot an arrow, which hit her in the left eye when she turned her head around to see how far she had gone. It permanently damaged her sight in that eye. Lucky pulled the arrow out, not feeling the pain yet because she was in such shock and not knowing that if she pulled it out it would bleed more and she would die.

However, her abilities to see beauty (normally evenly distributed across both eyes) were disrupted when her left eye became non-functioning. To compensate, her abilities transferred their whole into her damaged eye, leaving her right eye normal. This then repaired her left eye into one that can see inner and outer beauty, both nothing else real.

In all this, the guards had seen that they got her in the head, and believed she would not last long in the woods and die there. Hence they did not waste energy to further pursue her, as the rich family did not care for any body to be brought back.

Lucky eventually managed to make it out of the richer part of the city, donning her red scarf. Out of coincidence, Tom spots her red scarf. Though he is not happy when she sees him and starts following him, he takes her in like a little sister.

Eventually, Lucky begins to speak again (though very rarely) and becomes quite a chatter box around Tom only.
