Family: His father, Lord Surt, is the only direct family he has, but he has two uncles and an aunt, and many cousins.

Powers: Can control the temperature of the air, creating thermals and other effects, that serve as shields or attacks. He uses no weapon, and fights in a defensive manner.

A trickster and prankster of Muspelheim, the island of the Fire Demons, Lohho is carefree, cunning and ingenious. Son of the Lord Surt, leader of Muspelheim, he was granted quite a large leeway when it came to mischief and general misbehavior. But when he killed his cousin's intended groom, he reached the end of his father's patience.
Lohho was tried for the death of Balen and sentenced to be bound to the base of the highest mountain to the south of the island, overlooking the sea, where he'd be constantly sprayed by the surf of the waves breaking on the rocks.
Eventually escaping his prison, he flew over the ocean for months, hoping to find some other land, but thinking he'd be doomed to eventually falling into the water and drowning. But just when his strength was failing, he managed to land on Niflheim.

NOT. Truthfully, Lohho's design was NOT based off Ho-oh, but instead, the chinese lanterns used for New Years. His name comes from the German spelling of Loki, god of Michief, on which Lohho is based off in terms of personality and story. This mostly due to the fat that all the Niflheim sagas are based off Norse myth.
So again. He's not Ho-oh, nor was he based off the pokemon. In any way.
