Llamiis
???
Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
(Come in under the shadow of this red rock),
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.
Welcome to Confusion
Blah. I'm terrible at beginnings. To be written LA70Rz!
In The Past
Llamiis was an orphan born in the town of Kinderheim. He was raised and taught inside the Kindergarten--which existed to do exactly those two things. Its purpose was more school than orphanage, though, and he was no different from any of the other young Blackhorns in his education. Well, almost. The young demons were taught in seminars--small groups led by a single demon. Llamiis was selected for a special seminar--one for "superior children." Much of this had to do with his magical ability--healing is a rare skill in demons, and full healing is even rarer. He left the Kindergarten when he turned twenty, moving onto other things. He met a mate--her name was Gloria--and had a child with her. Tragedy struck, however, and their son died before he reached adulthood. The two blackhorns remained together for a few more years, then separated when Gloria left him.
It wasn't until he was nearly two hundred that Llamiis took up an apprenticeship as an interrogator--a career that crumbled with the death of Frathomas, when he disappeared. He has since reappeared at the castle and is now serving in the capacity of healer.
Gomi
Gomi is an energetic purple zomutt and Llamiis' (pet)pet. Well trained but overenthusiastic, Gomi sticks close to Llamiis unless he's shut up elsewhere--usually inside Llamiis' room. Llamiis uses Gomi as an on-the-job cleaning unit, and Gomi licks the yurble's hands clean at the end of every healing--much to the disgust of certain patients. Llamiis disregards this--his healing is magical and sanitation isn't necessary. Gomi also has a documented hatred of headgear--especially the floppy feathered hat of the featherwing artistocrat Yeiaz. Wearing hats around him is not advised.
Blackhorn, Blackhorn, Where Do You Roam?
The Blackhorn clan is fairly average in size, ranging from four hundred to five hundred individual demons. The bulk of this population is located in the demon city of Kinderheim, northwest of Niflheim castle. Blackhorn demons are recognisable for their four black horns, which grow to various lengths according to the individual. Generally there will be two shaped like the Darigan Yurble's and two shaped like the Darigan Wocky's, with the Wocky-like horns contained closer together. Blackhorn demons also have black nails, teeth, and bones, though this is less readily apparent.
The physical traits of the Blackhorn clan are secondary to their personalities, however. All Blackhorn demons are characterised by contradiction--in their personalities, in their magic, or in their lives themselves. It manifests differently according to the demon. Some go so far as to have split personalities. This is a cultivated trait in Blackhorns, and they rarely show more than one side of themselves at a time. Blackhorns, unlike most demons, have a more-or-less standardised education system, which centres around a school set in (again) the city of Kinderheim. While the children of other demon clans are accepted on occassion, it is essentially a school for Blackhorns, and it is there that the contradictory existences of the clanmembers are most encouraged.
The only Blackhorn of great note is the so-called Minister of Education in Kinderheim. This Ixi is responsible for organising and supervising the education system.
Kinderheim: Child's Home
Kinderheim is located far northwest of Niflheim Castle, near the mountains, and has relatively few landmarks for such a large town. The first is of course the Kindergarten, the school of the Blackhorns. It also houses many orphans, especially these days, what with the recent wars and everything. It is in the west half of Kinderheim and is easily recognisable its large size, wooden walls, and lack of windows. This is actually the third Kindergarten, as the first was destroiyed in a war and the second burnt down almost two centuries ago.
The clock tower is the second landmark of Kinderheim, it stands in the east. It does what most clocktowers do, which is tell time. It also has massive bells which toll every three hours. No one remembers why they do this.
Kinderheim itself is a town made of wood and stone, mostly wood, and is encircled by great wooden walls. It contains nearly a thousand demons.
