Programs that I used throught my art:
♥ MS Paint
-MS Paint is, like, THE awesomest a program out there. Sometimes the basics are the best and I'm sure that I'll never stop using MS Paint anytime soon. Don't listen to anyone who says that MS Paint is too basic of a program and that you can't acheive any good art from it because THEY'RE WRONG!! I have seen absolute BEAUTIFUL pieces of art come from MS. It really is a great program!
♥ Oekakis (Shii Painter)
-Oekakis are absolutely free and they require no download. Oekakis are really awesome when you have nothing more than MS Paint and no other software since they have lots of tools that aren't in MS Paint and many tools that are in other expensive, downloadable softwares. It's definitely not photoshop but it has all the essential needs that come from that such as layers, various brushes not found in MS Paint, burn, dodge, blur, etc. so its pretty darn handy! Also in some specific oekaki applets there are playback features where you can see how you drew something from start to finish. Also there other people who can look at you art and give crtiques and comments.
♥ Adobe Photoshop Elements 6
-Adobe photoshop elements is a nice program since I'm just starting out digitally drawing but I would recommend that if you're going to get a version of photoshop, I would get the real photoshop CS3 or whatever it is right now. My friend has the real photoshop and that one has SO many more options than this one. Although more is not always the best. Sometimes with less options the better since you don't get confuseddd like I often do. xD
The only downside is that Elements doesn't have a bezier tool which would have been great to add in there. But it was a pretty good deal since I got this program and Corel Painter with my tablet.
♥ Corel Painter Essentials 4
-If you want really natural effects on digital drawings then Coral Painter is the best option! Again, this is Corel Painter /Essentials/ 4, and just like Photshop Elements, this isn't the fully loaded, decked out Coral Painter but it gives a big gist of what the whole thing is about. There are /SOOOO/ many brushes, blurs, and effects you can use and they give an extremely natural feel if you use it right. The main focus that Corel Painter emphasizes is that the program can turn photos of people or things into very natural looking paintings, although I don't use this option very often. Other than the huge closet of brushes, it doesn't have as many features as in Photoshop elements although it can save in .psd so you can open it up in photoshop too. But still, the thing to take advantage of is the huge amount of textures and mediums that this program gives you so definitely use that!

incredibly easy to make anthro since there is no particularly outstanding feature about them (ex, aishas have those ear stalk things when anthro) but chias have absolutely...nothing. FANTASTIC!!!
