| the blackest manor

You stand before an absolutely massive black building in the outskirts of Neovia. A tall black, spear-tipped metal fence surrounds the construct and the lush gardens that lay beyond its cold prevention.

Anyone who knew anything about Neovia knew of this mansion. It was the darkest manor in the city, though its history was most recently steeped in good will... up until the mysterious deaths of the previous owners, which very few people knew of.

But it seemed as though Rose Black was in use once again after a few months of vacancy. It was evident in the now-cared-for flowerbeds, the recent polish of the fence bars, swept sidewalk, and decorated terraces, verandas and decks.

Most people wouldn't even notice that Helen and William weren't around anymore; the place gave off the aura and style the elderly couple once had. But you weren't fooled. You'd seen the bodies. It had been you who'd found them. And it had also been you who'd been arrested for making false death claims.

An elderly grey wocky woman came out of the house with a squat blue watering can, watered a few of the hanging plants near the door and gave you a little wave.

You shudder but manage to give a small wave back before continuing on your way, inwardly enraged that the world would never believe the dark truths you'd been persecuted for once uttering.

The tale of Likorixh the Wicked. Keep posted for updates.

prologue: the opal of aphrodite

Rain thrashed violently against the windows. The midnight darkness was broken only by sudden flashes of occasional lightning as a small girl, perhaps fifteen or sixteen, walked slowly and smoothly by a French terrace set of windows, carrying only a candle and an obsidian dagger.

Her long, straight pink hair was down and billowed behind her as she walked, and her cold grey eyes sparkled in the candle's orange light.

The pale pink shift she wore was thin, and the night cold; did the temperature not bother her, or was her mind merely on other things?

It was surely the last as she walked down a long corridor that ended in a solid oak door. This was the moment she had been planning for months for, waiting for a severe thunderstorm to roll along and drown out the screams of agony that were sure to follow her walking into the room at the end of the hall.

The intricate designs in her plan were flawless. She had simulated the scenario several times with her secret collection of voodoo dolls, using different variables for each simulation. Sometimes her young brother would wake and disrupt her, other times the thunder would subside just long enough for the neighbours to hear and the police be called.

She'd done post-college level calculations on probability to determine the chances of her succeeding in her deed. The cards were stacked against her. Any logically thinking being would have abandoned this plan altogether, but not this girl. No... in fact, she enjoyed it when the risk factor was higher. The thrill of winning when dealt a bad hand was much too addictive to her... It fueled her fire, made the cogs and wheels in her brain turn more vigorously.

She paused outside the door to listen. Snoring from the inside and little other sounds told her the occupants were still asleep. Perfect. She silently slipped inside, an excited smirk on her delicate face.

Fifteen minutes later, she exited the room, a smug -disallowed_exp_word-which could prove to be a lot of people, as they were the type to belong to several country clubs) would have known about their dark daughter and been able to draw their own conclusions.

But now, to everyone in society, Likorixh and Lulu were dead. They'd run away from the high-ranking orphanage they'd been left in and gotten hit by a train. The bodies they'd found were a bloody mess, limbs and gore strewn about the tracks everywhere and even splattered on the front of the train. Anyone who was anyone would pity the poor fellow who had to clean that mess up.

But now, however, was not the time for reminiscing on past adventures. The ancient secrets Likorixh had been experimenting in for the last few months were arcane and highly immoral, involving her digging up fresh corpses from the Neovian Cemetery and hiding them for practice in the cellar of a large, dilapidated, vacated mansion she'd taken up residence in... the old, untouched remnants of the Sehratia estate.

The house was condemned after the public had a mass panic that the house was haunted-- after all, though they were burned in their own beds, not a single scorch mark was on the walls OR the bed sheets. A mystery.

But a bigger mystery was if the elder Sehratia child had really murdered Antonio and Mylene or not. It was certainly suspicious when she'd talked her little brother into running away from the foster home mere hours after they'd been placed there, which led to even more whispering that it was indeed the elder Sehratia sibling, Likorixh, who had killed them, but the rumours were quashed when they found the childrens' bodies at the site of the accident.

It didn't do to make unfounded accusations about the dead. It wasn't respectful and highly frowned upon, and nobody wanted to be thought ill of in that part of society. No siree.

But the truth was, the Sehratia children were both alive and well-- or one of them, anyway, but not for long.

Erunmei, you are released from my services!" Likorixh hissed menacingly, looming over him with an unusually violent aura.

Oh-- Oh please-- PLEASE-- NO!" Erunmei, a brown kyrii pleaded, kneeling and pressing himself against the floor, trying to postpone his fate.

Giving him a last enraged, withering look, Likorixh snapped the middle finger and thumb of her right hand. Erunmei suddenly burst into flames, screaming in agony. The smell of burnt flesh and clothing filled the air as he writhed on the floor, voice eventually growing hoarse, and then nonexistant. Likorixh grinned malevolently as her former servant became nothing but ashes.

The guards were now getting more and more intense in their little 'visit'-- she had heard one of them tell another to bring out the battering ram. Curses.

She ran upstairs quickly, followed by a strange black and pink creature that rather looked like an imp. He moved with incredible celerity for something so small and kept at her heels the whole way up.

Dryxhen, the necklace," she said urgently, throwing several elaborate black and pink ball gowns into an antique pink suitcase once she reached the top of the stairs and took a right into her old room. The dark creature hopped into the room a few moments later carrying a lacy black choker with a deep pink stone set in the middle: Likorixh's prized possession, the fabled Opal of Aphrodite.

The guards were becoming more organized. They'd break down the door in a few more minutes. She took the necklace, put it on quickly, and zippered the suitcase closed, looking around and trying to remember the layout of the building.

Distract them and meet me behind the old Stoneman place after dark. We'll go from there. Erunmei's slip-up was unanticipated. We must abort this mission, now."

Dryxhen seemed to understand her, as he dashed quickly down the stairs and broke a window in his haste to get outside. Once she heard the guards break ranks, she made her escape.

There was a tall tree right next to the attic window-- a VERY tall tree. If she managed to climb out without her billowing skirt getting caught on the tiny branches, it would be a miracle. If the fabric caught, it would surely make noise. The material the skirt was made of tore easily and loudly. The guards would surely hear it apprehend her.

She prayed that there were no goons in the old abandoned personal family cemetery behind the house. That was where she'd make her escape from. If she did it right, she'd be able to get into the woods beyond the graveyard unseen.

She climbed out the window and onto the first tree branch. So far so good. After a few more calculated, lucky movements, she was able to miraculously climb down the tree without mishap and began running though the graveyard.

Mind racing, she pictured the mailbox out in the front of the manor as best she could-- on a tall pole, a miniature of the dark blue-grey mansion with a white roof and decor-- and snapped the middle finger and thumb on her right hand. She heard an explosion and knew her pyromancing was a success.

She felt proud of herself despite the situation. This was the farthest away she'd ever been from something she'd set aflame with only her mind. She chuckled inwardly, told herself one of her three mantras-- 'There is nothing on this plane you cannot do'-- and glanced back.

The yells and screams could only mean that her diversion was working. She had refined her pyromancy since the night she had disposed of Mylene and Antonio, and now the bodies of her victims were reduced to a fine powder instead of just getting severely burned.

She cleared the old cemetery with ease. Many people were afraid of cemeteries, but she felt quite calm and at peace in them. Perhaps it was because of her affinity for necromancy, or maybe that the dead held secrets she longed to share. Whatever the case, even though she enjoyed them, she far more loved a nice, well-decorated parlor room. Black and pink to be exact.

Once she was so far into the dense, decaying woods behind the cemetery that she could no longer hear the guards, she sat down on an old, dried-out stump in a ladylike fashion, plotting.

She'd heard tell of these woods. They were named the Woods of Woe. Apparently, if you ventured too far into them, you'd meet a wandering spirit who was in so much emotional pain that just seeing it or hearing its voice caused people to dive into deep, and sometimes irreversible, bouts of severe depression. She scoffed at the rumours. They were silly and only fed to the gullible when topics for gossip were scarce.

The woods were highly foggy, and the sun overhead didn't seem to belong. The underbrush that grew among the dead trees was the kind that didn't require sunlight to grow-- in fact, it was the kind that flourished in the natural cold, dank weather.

She tried dusting off her long, black, lacy skirt, but her attempt was in vain. The fog that hovered around the forest was low to the ground and seemed to be quite dirty. Frustrated, she stood up and climbed onto the stump in an effort to get away from the dirty mist. She needed a house of her own, or at least a headquarters to base her operations out of.

Well, she HAD one, but the idiot Erunmei had fouled and made an offhand comment to the wrong person about joining her ranks-- a someone who happened to be very influential and was pretty much the commander and funder of the Neovian guard force.

His name was Gareth Midgen, the richest man in Neovia. He was a portly skeith, short and pudgy, with a large black moustache and balding black hair. He normally wore a black double-breasted suit and matching top hat, complete with a cane and monocle, which were both just for show-- it was obvious, to her, at least. Most people believed his story about how he was fox hunting a long time ago and got into an accident involving a musket and bayonet.

It was too detailed to be a real memory. She was a born liar, and she knew good ones when she saw them. This man definitely couldn't lie, but the general public believed him to stay in his favour. All about social status, this town. It disgusted her.

After about an hour of waiting for the sun to wane, boredom rising steadily, a sudden SNAP coming from somewhere behind her made her freeze rigidly in her seat.

She was not alone.

| role play

I take it you want to role play with me? That's just fine. But there's a few rules I'd like you to abide, please.

role play rules

1. She has vast amounts of servants, soldiers and bodyguards at her disposal, even if they are not actual human-owned neopets.
2. If Likorixh makes your pet take The Oath, there's no way around it. If the dagger's in your pet's heart, there's no turning back.
3. There is only ONE WAY your pet mill be able to break Likorixh's Oath, and I will tell you only if the need arises.
4. She is a character steeped in mystery, and no, I am not going to tell you all her secrets. They are her secrets and they will be revealed in due time.
5. I have most of her story and plot set out for role play with a friend. It will happen no matter what.
6. She's against romance. Don't even try. (Don't worry though, Fiona, our plot will still happen.)
7. When role playing I don't use just one of my pets. I use a large number of them, as they all interact at some point. The pet I choose in the beginning is just the pet I'll be using the most.
8. Because of this I switch between third person and third person omniscient. It might be slightly confusing though once you get used to my writing style you'll be fine.
9. Literates and advanced only. I myself am what I like to call a lazy literate. I can be as descriptive and detailed as anything, but I try not to confuse people with overt amounts of description. xD
10. I procrastinate and sometimes send short replies for effect. Big whoop. xD You can too.

Neomail Pyro to role play with me. ;)

darkness comes young

Likorixh sat on her gorgeous throne of obsidian stone that was adorned with fluffy pink pillows and decor. The tall, spiked crown on her head was made of bone and had many pink jewels set into it. It looked like it could have been involved in some kind of dark, primitive ritual.

Two of her servants opened the large double-doors that were nearly one hundred feet ahead of her. A plush pink carpet led from the doors to her throne. It was time to take audience with her minions, soldiers, servants, and others that worked for her.

Ty patiently waited outside of the two large double-doors. As soon as the door opened Ty walked slowly up the plush pink carpet to Likorixh's throne. The others soon followed. She bowed down before Likorixh, waiting for her chance to speak.

Likorixh nodded her head curtly.

Your reason for coming to visit me on this most glorious of mornings?" she asked in a soft, feminine voice, motioning to the large windows on the left and right sides of the room. It was cloudy and raining in Neovia that morning.

Yes, master, it is a glorious morning. It seems we have come to a setback," Ty said nervously. "As we tried to cross borders, into Southern Altador, we were met by a team of Gladiators, who were already noted of our invasion. It seems we have a spy amongst us. Telling all of our plans to another source," she said, awaiting either punishment or another order.

I see," she said slowly. "And you are all present here, correct?" she asked, voice becoming sickly sweet. Anyone who knew even the smallest bit about her knew she was angriest when she seemed to be nicer than usual.

As we know of," she responded. "We believe the spy is in this castle, somewhere. We will find out who it is and stop him and his stupidity. After all, who is stupid enough to go against you? Only fools dare step in front of your path. And in the end, their bravery is just a mockery to the whole meaning of the word."

She grinned darkly, the smile not reaching her cold, piercing grey eyes.

Thank you, Ty-chan... duly noted." she stood up. Many people were in line outside her audience chamber. "Let it be known that ALL who reside in this mansion, my precious Rose Black, will present themselves here tonight at precisely 600 hours!" she yelled in a commanding tone. Her volume was surprising for a woman who looked like she did. She turned back to the small group before her.

I trust you'll pass on my message to those that could not be here, dears?" she asked in that same, honeyed voice.

Of course, as you wish," she replied. "It will be passed on to all others," Ty said as she bowed.

Thank you, dears," she said, showing her small teeth with long, razor-sharp bicuspids. "You will be rewarded for your obedience, loves. Once the traitor is weeded out, you will be rewarded... Dismissed," she said in an assuring, sweet tone.

Ty bowed, backing slowly away. "You are very welcome."

Likorixh nodded, awaiting the next group to seek audience with her. Her bodyguard, Ryuxxa, an extremely tall darigan draik-- maybe about 6'8", or 6'9"-- stood beside her throne, grinning insanely at all who entered. He was, in short, nearly crazy.

Ryux, love, mother is feeling a bit peckish," Likorixh told him, keeping her attention on those who were approaching. The darigan draik named Ryux took a deep breath and started hollering.

LULU-KUN!"

A small male xweetok in a pink, black and white suit approached at a run, listless expression on his face and big, grey eyes.

Lulu-kun, love, I would like some strawberries," Likorixh asked in a slightly demanding tone. Ryux leered at the child, who paid him no heed as he hurried back out of the room.

As Ty left the room, she heard the yell, and smirked inside. 'She's the best, she has her own servants, she has her own castle. Wow. I hope I'm like her...' she thought to herself. As she was walking down the corridors, she turned back to see the rest of Likorixh's army, sitting around like a bunch of nimrods.

Get up! We're supposed to be spreading the word, not sitting on our tails in merriment. Just because she said we will get a reward, doesn't mean she won't change her mind in an instant. Now get to work!" she yelled to them.

She heard Ty yelling at her soldiers and felt a prickly feeling inside. The best description for what she felt would be that she was slightly proud of the younger xweetok, but since she respected only a select few very little, and was impressed only on rare occurrences, it was an unfamiliar feeling.

Lulu-kun! Where are you?" she demanded coldly. While she feigned sweetness and motherly affection to the rest of her subjects, she was only cold and indifferent to her personal servant, Lulucce. The boy came running with a magnificent silver platter topped with a mountain of strawberries, already cored.

Thank you, Lulu-kun," she simpered, plucking a particularly red one off the top and delicately popping it into her mouth.

Ty looked back, still to see the so called 'army' sitting down. Frustrated, she went to spread the word herself. Ty ran into a solider every few steps, because they were sprawled out onto the floor. Furious, she continued throughout the corridors.

If only those nimrods would help me spread the word, it would already be through out the castle.' she thought to herself.

Likorixh, the audience hours finally over and immensely bored, decided to weed out a few imbeciles herself. Would she would dispose of them or just severely frighten them? At the moment, she wasn't quite sure until she entered the hallway outside the audience chamber.

Some of the soldiers that were sitting and loafing about suddenly rose and saluted, stock-still. Each bowed very low to the ground as she passed. Perhaps this would motivate them.

Ty walked through the corridors, passing on the word, so that all would know. Finally, or so she thought, everyone in the castle knew. She returned back to the outside of Likorixh's chambers, and saw her walking amongst the soldiers, as the soldiers were rising slowly and bowed. Soon, Likorixh passed her.

Everyone has been informed." Ty said as she bowed down in front of her.

Would you be ready to stake your livelihood on that statement?" she asked curiously, an edge in her soft voice. A test for young Ty would be proper at this point.

I would, master. I've gone through out this whole castle, and told everyone in my site. Everyone in this castle knows about it." Ty said, in a nervous tone. She was sure that everyone knew, but staking your life on it was tough, but she was confident in herself, and knew that everyone in this castle knew, because she told everyone she met to pass it on.

Likorixh smiled coldly.

Then I think it would be prudent to announce that if one head is missing from my audience chamber this evening, I will hold you accountable. Good day, child," she said in a firm, businesslike tone before striding off, three servants behind her, lifting the long train of her dress off the floor.

Yes master," Ty replied. She sighed heavily, and continued on her way through out the castle, making sure everyone in the entire castle knew, just in case. Believing so, Ty sat on the corridor steps, thinking back to every detail of that morning, of who she told, making sure it was everyone.

The bells rang at 5:50 to alert the mansion of the impending meeting of sorts. Likorixh waited in one of her private chambers.

About ten feet behind her throne, which the plush pink carpet wrapped around, the carpet continued up a grand set of stairs and onto another floor whose balcony overlooked the audience chamber. This is where Likorixh's private rooms were located.

What would she do to young Ty when a few stragglers failed to show up? This was what she was thinking about as she heard people file into the chamber below.

Ty heard the bell toll 5:50, and walked into the chambers, hoping that everyone was there. She sat in one of the seats. Everyone was waiting for Likorixh to enter. Some people whispered to each other, 'Who is it?' one said. 'Who could it be?' another said.

All of them were wondering, who would go against the all mighty and powerful Likorixh? Who would be stupid enough to?

Two of her personal maidservants hurried up to the top of the stairs as everyone quieted.

Her Majesty Likorixh of Rose Black!" one cried, as they both opened the double doors. Likorixh was already standing behind them. She walked gracefully down the grand staircase accompanied by her bodyguard Ryux, her arm on his. She strode in front of her throne, coldly surveying the rag-tag bunch of lazy imbeciles before her.

As Likorixh passed by, Ty bowed in front. A little nervous, Ty quietly sat down, awaiting what Likorixh would say.

How quaint," she said softly in a tone so cold it could have frozen over even the hottest of volcanoes in Tyrannia. "There are six of us missing today." A murmur ran through the crowd, scared yet curious.

Ty froze straight to her seat. What would Likorixh do to her? She was sure she had told everyone. What happened? Where those missing the inside spies? Or just people who, apparently, thought this was unimportant.

But," she continued, smiling wickedly at them all, a dark laughter in her eyes, "You're lucky. Those six were sent by me on another mission." There seemed to be a relieved sigh spread throughout the hall.
