Lierku's Guide To Making NP.

Here it is, Lierku's Guide To Making Neopoints. Yes, many new members have been inclined to ask me how I've earned my np and after explaining it to so many people, my hands begun to cramp. So, I'm just going to explain my methods here for all to read.

1) First, you must make around 5,000-10,000np. You can do this by playing games and (possibly) winning prizes from the daily contests on Neopets. (i.e. Tombola and Wheel of Excitement)

2) Once you have this amount, you can begin restocking. "Restocking" is simply when you buy items of great worth from their respective neopian stores, usually at a very low price. For example, "Torpedoes" sell in the Candy Factory for around 800np, but they sell in the Shop Wizard for 6,000np. You simply restock until you've reached 100,000np.

3) After the 100,000np mark, you can now begin Shop Wizard Surfing. To do this, you simply type in either "paint brush" or "transmog" into the "What are you looking for?" section of the Shop Wizard. Choose "containing this phrase" from the drop down menu, and finally, type in 99,999np into the "Max price" area. This means that the Shop Wizard will only bring up items selling in people's shops for 99,999np or less.

4) Now, you simply search until you find a good buy. Example: I once found an Elephante Transmogrification Potion is someone's shop for 300np. I then resold it for 78,000np.

5) If you get lucky and make an exceptional buy, you can use your extra money to start trading with other restockers. Buy paint brushes or other such items for low prices, and resell them on the trading post for higher amounts. Example: Buy a Rainbow Paint Brush from a seller for 170,000np, then resell it in Trades for it's going price of 200,000np. Sometimes you'll be presented with a greater neopoint gain.

Lierku's Guide To Making Screenies.

And now, Lierku's Guide to Making Screenies!

In this section I will break down all the steps that I use to create screenies. This may not work for some, so if it doesn't I apologize. I'm only going by what I've learned.

Step 1) When you find a screenie opportunity, simply push the Print Scrn/SysRq key on your keyboard. (It should be located near the top right.) This will copy the entire image on the screen of your computer.

Step 2) Once you have the image copied, simply open a program such as Paint or Photoshop, go up to the menu bar and under Edit choose Paste. The image of your screenie should immediately pop up on screen. Now, just crop it down to the right size, add text or graphics where needed and once you're finished go to File - Save As and name the new image file. (Make sure you know what folder you are saving it in.) Also, be sure to save the file as either a .gif, .jpg, or .bmp file!

Step 3) Now that you have the file saved, you can upload it to the internet. I myself use Photobucket.com to upload my images, but there are other free services out there you can use. (Find the one that you're most comfortable with using.) The website should have it's own steps as to how to upload an image. Follow them accordingly.

Step 4) Congratulations! You've successfully made a screenie! Now, just insert the screenie into your petpage/website HTML, and let the viewing begin!

PLEASE NOTE:

Many people have been having a little trouble with their screenies and after having been asked the same question several times, I've just decided to answer it on my guide so everyone can read it.

If your screenies are turning out small after you've uploaded them and put them onto your webpage, it is most likely because the image file you uploaded has surpassed the requirements for your individual uploading service/website. (Photobucket would be one of these websites) If the website you use is free, it usually has some sort of limit on just how large your image files can be. Photobucket, for example, limits images to 250 kilabites. Any larger, and they are automatically resized, making them appear incredibly small and squished.

To fix this, simply delete your image from the website, open the image file in your paint program, and resize it. Cut out all the unnecessary parts of the image. Then, resave it as a smaller image type. (jpg, gif, or bmp) After doing this, try uploading it again to your free service website. If the image still shows up resized, you may just have to find another screenie image to put up in it's place.

AOTS" Game Guide.

And now, the newest addition to the 'How To' section, Lierku's "Attack of the Slorgs" Game Guide!

Here is where I will break down the game "Attack of the Slorgs." I will explain powerups, powerdowns, secrets, strategies, and give some basic level guides and hopefully help you earn yourself an avatar and possibly even a trophy or a nice spot on the 'High Score' List.

First, we have POWERUPS. These are excellent tidbits added to this game that will hopefully give you an edge in defeating those nasty Slorgs.

*And remember, whenever you receive a powerup (or powerdown), the Slorg-B-Gone in your Slorgeriser X4 machine will be pulsing. Always look for this before getting rid of any ammo.*

Super Slorgeriser : These will ALWAYS be a blob of Dark Red Slorg-B-Gone. -Super Slorgeriser will destroy a few Slorgs to the left and right of wherever you shoot it.- It would help you greatly to use this powerup when you have a group of Slorgs which contains few or no pairs.

Slowdown : These will ALWAYS be a blob of Green Slorg-B-Gone. -Slowdown will make all Slorgs move at a, uh, snail's pace.- Quite useful for harder levels where the Slorgs have less space to travel before they reach your crops. Always, ALWAYS, use Slowdown! I don't care if you don't have any Green Slorgs to shoot, this powerup is just too helpful to throw away!

Puddle Water : These will ALWAYS be a blob of Dark Grey Slorg-B-Gone. DON'T MISTAKE THIS FOR A REGULAR GREY BLOB OF SLORG-B-GONE! -Puddle Water will make ALL Slorgs on screen one color. This allows you to kill them all in one shot.- The second most helpful powerup. Always great to use if you're stuck at a certain point and have WAY too many Slorgs to handle. Be careful, though. You don't always get the color of Slorg-B-Gone you need to destroy them all. You might be forced to throw away a few shots before you get the color you need.

Slorg Destruct : These will ALWAYS be a blob of Pink Slorg-B-Gone. This is THE greatest powerup in the whole game. -Slorg Destruct will destroy ALL Slorgs behind the point where you shoot it, no matter what color they may be.- Slorg Destruct only shows up during and after Level 6. If you happen to get this powerup, I suggest allowing the Slorg line to get LONG, almost to your crops, before you use it. This way, you can destroy as many Slorgs as possible and get the most points. Always shoot Slorg Destruct at the FRONT of the line!

Next, we have POWERDOWNS. These are the irritating parts of this game that are designed to make your playing experience miserable.

*And remember, whenever you receive a powerdown (or powerup), the Slorg-B-Gone in your Slorgeriser X4 machine will be pulsing. Always look for this before shooting any ammo.*

Multislorg : These will ALWAYS be a blob of Bright Red Slorg-B-Gone. -Multislorg will add several different colored Slorgs to your already existing line.- Very irritating, it can really slow you down. Not only will you have your other Slorgs to take care of, but now you have more to destroy. @.@ ALWAYS throw this away.

Revenge of the Slorgs : Does not show up as a blob of Slorg-B-Gone, it will just randomly occur.
-Reverses game controls.- Horrible event to get. After 'Revenge of the Slorgs!' appears on your screen, your controls will immediately shift to 'Right = Left, Left = Right.' You'll just have to get used to it, because this lasts until you reach the next level.

Slorg Block : These will ALWAYS be a blob of Blue Slorg-B-Gone. -Holds all slorgs in place that are behind the point you shoot it.- This may be considered by some as a "powerup," but it's actually caused me to lose several lives, so I consider it a powerdown. You can choose whether to use this or throw it away, but I suggest throwing it out. Not worth the hassle.

Dark Grey Slorg-B-Gone : These will (of course) ALWAYS be Dark Grey blobs of Slorg-B-Gone. -Turns whichever Slorg you hit it with into a Dark Grey Slorg.- These are pretty useless slorgs to get. I don't believe that Grey Slorgs are introduced AT ALL in this game, so there's really no point in using this Grey blob of Slorg-B-Gone. Because of this, I consider it a Powerdown.

Lazer Failure : An event instead of a Slorg-B-Gone blob. -Simply when your lazer site begins to fail.- Makes it a little more challenging to get rid of Slorgs. Usually occurs after a few minutes of playing each level. Once you lose your laser site, keep your eye on your Slorgs, NOT your gun. Your hands will usually point you in the right direction if you set your eyes on your target Slorg. It's like archery, only with Slorgs. xD

Here are the Level Descriptions.

Level 1 : Destroy 30 Slorgs. Consists of Dark Red, Blue, and Green Slorgs.

Level 2 : Destroy 50 Slorgs. Same assorted colors of Slorgs.

Level 3 : Destroy 75 Slorgs. Same assortment of colors.

Level 4 : Destroy 100 Slorgs. Bright Red Slorgs and 'Multislorg' are added.

Level 5 : Destroy 125 Slorgs. Same color assortment.

Level 6 : Destroy 150 Slorgs. Pink Slorgs and 'Slorg Destruct' are introduced. MOST CHALLENGING LEVEL. The Slorgs reach your crops VERY quickly in this level. Hang in there, once you beat this level, it's smooth sailing to the avatar. :)

Level 7 : Destroy 175 Slorgs. No new Slorgs are added after this level. The number of Slorgs you need to destroy continues it's current pattern.

Here are a few Game Pointers.

Once the level starts, it will quickly show you the path of the Slorgs. Watch carefully and see how far they need to go before they reach your crops. This will tell you if you need to speed up your Slorgerising, or if you can slow your pace.

Whenever a frog head comes up out of the ground near the top left corner of the screen, HIT IT. This will give you 25 extra points and can help you reach the avatar score faster.

Lastly, try to create opportunities to destroy several Slorgs at once. Make pairs when you can, and only throw away Slorg-B-Gone blobs if you can't spare any extra room for more Slorgs.

Finally, here are a few Secrets.

Crazy Frog Bonus : Gives you 25 bonus points whenever you hit the Frog that randomly pops up in the top left hand corner of your screen.

Extra Life : Type in 'marrow' while playing and get an extra life. (You can only have 4 lives at a time) Don't waste this code because you can only use it ONCE PER GAME.

Recharge Lazer : Whenever your lazy goes out during your game, type in 'chargex4' to recharge it.
